Agree 100% Bikers aged, and as a group started chasing comfort and trends, but bikes like this are why we rode back in the day. This bike is the culmination of all those great bikes from the 80s and 90s. I am 64 and I have two sportbikes and two streetfighters in the garage; I refuse to go into my twilight on an ADV; rock and roll to the end 🙂

I’m 50 and three of my 5 bikes are sportbikes., a GSXR1000k5, an R1M, and an EBR1190RS Carbon Edition….. and I’m pretty much done buying any more of them. I still like riding the GSXR, and the EBR, being a street legal AMA superbike is amazing to ride but not something to spend a weekend riding. The R1M is so far out of it’s element on the street that you have to ride it so fast on a public road that the thought of crashing it is frankly, terrifying. It makes no midrange power like the K5 or EBR has so you end up winding the tits out of it…. On a bike with a 106mph first gear… there are no small mistakes on a bike like that.
A few of my riding buddies got supernakeds and they were pretty cool but it wasn’t until I met my wife and she replaced her BMW with a Street Triple that I really understood that superbikes really aren’t fun on the road anymore. I hurt after riding my bikes and I Don’t after 4 hours in the saddle on her Triumph. I I get a fuel light at less than 100 miles on the yamaha, and 1800 miles on a set of tires… her Triumph will almost do our entire 160 mile loop on a fill up and the tires last 7k miles…. And I can go almost as fast as I want on it-it’s only the 120mph+ sweepers that I wish it had a little more, but I can lead our riding group of very fast guys and not hold anyone up.
So now I’m shopping for a super naked. You should try one.

Kawazaki is to be congratulated for the technological power it possesses, it is one of the few brands that is not only interested in producing only "big road trail bikes".Is a brand that continues to produce motorbikes that leave you with a smile on your face after riding them, and that deserves respect, Kawazaki does not bow to the fashions of the moment. I am a happy owner of a 2021 Ninja 1000 SX, which, in relation to a ZX-10, is a better road bike, the engine is fuller at medium and low engine speeds and it has a "sporty comfortable" riding position, but it is still a very agile bike, with that Ninja front end full of feedback. Congratulations on the test of the green ZX-10R, I am a fan of yours, I enjoyed seeing a green being tested on the roads of my country.

Amen Chris well said. I've tried living like a grown up these past 2 years without a superbike in my life. Figured between my 690 enduro supermoto and superduke gt that itch would be scratched, but it isn't. There is something special about riding a super bike that just can't be replicated with anything else

it puts a smile on my face every single time. I am also incredibly fortunate enough
to live 20 minutes from the local race track and now that I've "discovered" track days
my bike gets to occasionally run free where is was meant to be.
Thanks and keep yourself safe! 😃👍❤🏍

The power delivery is so smooth, the handling is wonderful, even by todays standards. Mine has braided hoses and has been dynojetted, and after just 100 miles on it its totally won me over. My daily is an MT-10, and its a practical beast with lots of character, but I agree with you Chris, bring back superbikes.

Nice vid & decent real world impression of a really good, dare I say underrated bike. It's definitely grown on me, especially this latest version. I've always thought it an odd criticism that having all it's power up top is a disadvantage for the road. Low down torque is great but if you're buying an i4 1000 for low down grunt you've missed the point & the ZX10R's still not slow. Plus having to work the engine just a little bit is part of the fun of an i4 engine surely. It also makes it very manageable & unintimidating on the road at legal speeds too. Which is seemingly seen as an advantage of the BMW S1000RR. Some may say it's a boring engine characteristic but 200+bhp from 2000rpm just isn't practical or useable on the road so seems a bit redundant to me personally.

I live a stone's throw away from the garage where all the bikers meet up before attacking this amazing road and if I'm not riding my zx14, I can hear the glorious sounds of those R1, V4s exhaust notes whinnied up as they ascend and descend the valley road. Sad letting her go but times were tight.
I like Kawasaki has keep the electronics simple and keep the bike well dialled. Maybe I will consider another one down the track but until then the old 1KRR 04 Fireblade will have to suffice. • @GarryMcGovern
    @GarryMcGovern Год назад +1

The problem is, modern Superbikes have advanced so FAR more than our crappy roads and feeble human brains can handle, that they just aren't that enjoyable on the road any more, as we can never get anywhere close to their capabilities (track is another thing, but not everyone can hit their favourite track early on a Sunday morning!). The turning point for me is when I bought my 1199S Panigale brand new back in 2012, I still had the 1098 in the garage, as I didn't want to sell it until the Pani arrived, but my god, they were night and day up my favourite mountain road, and riding the Panigale actually scared me. NOT because of it's speed, but because of the lack of FEELING of speed! I was still only breaking the bike in, so only going easy, but I remember looking down at the speedometer going around one corner and seeing 80mph, yet on the previous Sunday on the 1098, I was doing 60, yet it felt no different to me. Now granted, I still have that Pani, but it was the last modern Superbike I ever bought, and since then I've added a 916, a Bimota SB6R, an MV Agusta 312 and an original 1990 FZR1000 Exup (the dream bike when I was a kid at 17!). Everyone of those bikes demands attention in different ways, and you are literally 'on it' the whole way, no matter how short or long the distance. I have no idea what speed I'm going any more, as I basically don't have time to look down any more, as you have to focus so much (though pretty much always feels like you are doing 2000mph everywhere!!!!!). When the 2022 V4S came out, I DID nearly finally relent and think fek it, sure I'm in my 50's now, why not? But after riding it - absolutely mindblowingly phenomenal as it was, I knew that it was just going to give me even more stress than my now ten year old 1199S, as no matter how much more capable this bike was - sheep, cyclists, walkers, BMW drivers and wayward tour buses are STILL going to be going the same speed, and I'm going to be approaching them 20% faster than I was before..... the bike may be good..... but I'm not, and so realised that a new V4S was only going to be another ego boost (it was actually after this I bought the Bimota..... and funnily enough, and old KTM Superduke 990..... but that's another story - yes, I do have 11 bikes now!!! 🤣)

For me sportsbikes should be comfy, road geared & full of low to midrange torque. Why not make a VFR1200R or GSXR1300. My old VFR750 (&CBR1000f) have plenty of speed & power for most people. WSB/motoGP has ruined road bikes. And don't get me started on 1200cc adventure bikes. The most fun road bikes I ever had was an NC30, RD500 & Blackbird. The worst a 2008 R1 so gave up & went back. Thinking of getting a nice standard 2001 R1 in blue. Good video all the same.

@@rodrigosimoes185 Italian is a lot easier as is Spanish. Portuguese is the most difficult one of the Romance languages. I work with a few Brazilian guys and they say that they do not have a problem understanding Italian, Spanish. French a bit more difficult but the opposite is not so evident, so they say. My ancestry on my dad side is Italian, I understand and speak only a very little Italian I'm afraid, my French is pretty good though ;)

I think you make a great point that a lot of people miss. At the low end its a 600, in the middle its a 750 and at the top its nuts.
You don't usually run out of engine on a big sportsbike. You do regularly on a 600 and sometimes on a 750 but its rare on a thou.
One thing I would love to know though - where do they get the prices from? The new zx4rr is likely to have very similar spec to this but less size to everything and I'm not seeing that few extra kg of steel adding up to the bike costing (probably) close to double.
Over a 50% increase in prices in just a few years is pretty greedy.
