      norm charlton was the toughest mlb pitcher . later in his career for the phillies he took a liner to the face and kept shaking off the catcher who was concerned since he was bleeding heavily lol

    This is the greatest year of MLB brawls. That classic Mariners/Orioles brawl, McRae going after the manager instead of the pitcher, Nolan Ryan giving Ventura the works, the classic Mo Vaughn hit, Jim Leyland being absolutely unhinged, and that Oakland/Milwaukee brawl. Amazing!

      Yep I didn't know he was on the coaching staff in 93 in his son's first season. I do know this. Between him and his son, that's over 1000 Homer's and damn near 1000 stolen bases between then and 10 combined 30 30 seasons with both having 5 each which is tied for the mlb record. Now that's a father son duo!

    Chi/Texas Ventura/Ryan round up, classic. The interesting part was when Bo got involved. From Ryan:" I was at the bottom of the pile and getting pressed down pretty hard. I couldn't breathe! Then two massive hands grabbed me by my jersey and hoisted me clear of the mess. It was Bo Jackson who saved me from being badly hurt. A great guy, we keep in touch to this day."

    What I love about baseball fights is the long run to the pitcher's mound. I would be tired. The pitcher has the advantage of just standing there 😂

    It was my Junior Year at East St. John that I became a all purpose student and I got my very first Regular PE class and my uniform in the process that I started the two year run from Least St.John to West St. John remember I went the distance three years in a row from Least St. John to a winner at West St. John in 1993.

    So how come they wore their stirrups so low back then? It looks so ... so ... non-Major League. They should have pulled their stirrups up. Might have lightened their attitudes. And ... you know ... less rage-induced fighting that way. Barry Bonds appears so infuriated in one of those clips that it looks like his eyebrows are about to rocket right off of his head and into the 3rd row of box seats.

    Is it just me or do most of these pitches appear to be barely touching 90 mph? These days majority if pitchers are touching 95 and maybe topping out at 99 mph. Those beanballs today hurt a lot more.
    P.S. LaRussa, look at him leading his steroided A's teams from the 90's. HYPOCRITE!

    Id like to see a 10 game suspension today for a bean ball at the head. The batter gets hospitalized for it the pitcher gets charged with assault beginning in 2023 season..thatll stop the intentionals..

    Robin Ventura is the dumbest charger of the mound ever. Nolan should have given him a couple of noogies just to make Robin look like a bigger dork.
    And I agree that Nolan should have been thrown out of the game even if what he did was self-defense. He started it with the bean ball.
