8 Weirdly Romantic Proposals in Unromantic Games
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 2 авг 2024
- A marriage often originates in one person asking another if they would like to get married, in what is known as a "proposal". In certain special cases these are proposed not down on one knee, but inside a game whose less than obvious romantic potential was previously unexploited such as Portal 2, LittleBigPlanet, or Dying Light.
Take a look at these times someone popped the question through the medium of games, and subscribe for a video like this one every Thursday, why don't you?

First clip =
Player 1:Will you marry me?
Player 2: Not with that framerate.
I think it was just because he was capturing the gameplay with something like fraps instead of a proper capture card xD
I guess everyone noticed that.
You all prolly dont give a damn but does someone know a trick to log back into an Instagram account..?
I was dumb lost my password. I would love any tricks you can offer me.
@Braylen Johnny Instablaster :)
"Robots are physically incapable of having STDs"
Just the best line ever
Sadly, it's not true. STDs are viruses. Robots can catch viruses just like any other computer. Claptrap LIED!!!
I really liked his "Say No" sign :)
გიორგი მოსაშვილი ikr
Except for the fact that it could also be used as a way to hid how many lovers you had... Maybe...
Fisto never cheated on me.
"Possible side effects of the testing include: [...] crippling emotional trauma and death."
GLaDOS going full romance mode there
Don't get me wrong, these proposals were sweet AF but god, that Dying Light footage...
Thomas Regnart thats the power of the xbox one
Framerate fail.
Oof
The lag... It could not handle all the love. lol
They used the worst screen recorder ever.
When I first met my significant other it was at uni and we both bonded over our love for videogames and horror. So the first game we played together was Silent Hill 2. A few years later he took me to a park, up on a "silent hill", played the soundtrack to the game and presented a ring.
We had a videogame themed wedding.
Respectable AF That's sweet
Hope you have a better life together than James and Mary did
Thanks,
I know right, so far so good.
@@d_mb Yup, going on 16 years and two kids!
My friend proposed (not to me) during a game of scrabble. He put down the tiles spelling MarryMe' at the start of the game (Used all his letter so gets double, double word score) she complained that it was two words, not one until eventually the penny dropped.
The look on her face would have been priceless
@@yamiatemyugi They're still Married so it worked out well :)
I proposed to my wife by hiding a note and ring inside the board game "Forbidden Island," which is the same game we were playing the night we met.
This is adorable, but so risky.
"Do you want to play Forbidden Island?"
"Not with Forbidden Desert out! I really think it's the same, but better - why go back?"
"revenge of the fifth" is completely brilliant
"Challenge accepted!"
And we never saw Andy again. Or at least, not for another 79 days, 23 hours and 59 minutes. Enjoy your trip, Andy!
I hate that book so much.
What book?
I've managed to hide a proposal in my copy of skyrim. whenever she finishes the main quest, she'll get my proposal. Waiting for her answer anytime soon...
She's looting every dungeon in the entire game first, isn't she? Is she aware that they respawn?
r/Woooooosh
Thats genius
Matthew Ephgrave-Scriven The stupidity is unreal.

Jane would describe marriage as a zombie apocalypse... Is anyone surprised? Honestly?
In Warframe, a couple got married in game with their whole clan present AND members from Digital Extremes themselves, with the community manager playing as the Lotus!
Arguably one of the greatest moments in the Games history.
Dark Souls is a romance dating sim.
Only the monsters are the ones choosing the conversation tree and killing you is just the way they choose to not romance you.
dogsrulenw08 Well that's one way to interpret it lol
To be fair, you're a rotting zombie half the time, and will probably someday lose your mind and try to kill them, so it's understandable that they wouldn't want a relationship with you.
So what exactly are you doing then for the majority of the game? Killing innocent monsters. They were just trying to say hello and you get all "OMG A GIANT MONSTER, BETTER KILL IT". They don't turn you down, they act in self-defence.
*makes sense*
Its about time someone made a ds dating sim
Some say Andy is still globe trotting to this day
*sees a whimsical balloon up in the sky*
Surely not...
I proposed to my partner using a Paddington picture book. It would have been the best weekend of my life except the weekend before I had a comment read out by both Oxbox and Oxtra. No one tell her that though.
Adam McDDcM wow
One time I had a comment read by Philly D, back when his show used to have comments discussed at the end. It's a pretty cool feeling, I can see why a double dose would be the best week ever
Partners come and go Ox is 4EVER!
I read your replies hoping she was there telling you it's off. No luck. 😕
I am still waiting for that magical day when Oxbox or Oxtra read my comments. And you got both! Some guys have all the luck. Err yes I hope your marriage is going along well
My sarcasm defense mode got stuck on by mistake 8 years ago. It's just soooooooo great.
The fact the guy who modified Donkey Kong to have playable Pauline for his daughter (A story a knew about) had previously tried to propose to his girlfriend via the official GBC port of Klax (A story I didn't) is an added bit of detail that enhances both stories to me.
Klax was my first plazzler
The DK mod is just reskinning two characters. It's not very impressive when you actually think about it.
Not in a technical sense, sure- I imagine I could manage it with some tinkering about if I really tried. But the reasoning is really sweet to me.
@@MissingmyBabbu Also, I'd like a copy
Well maybe you can't get STDs from robots but looking at Claptrap I'm pretty sure you could still get tetanus.
Oh goddammit :(
Or you’d get the Clap
Well, good thing I got vaccinated then!
Ohhhh, IRL proposals! I thought you meant, like, Trevor’s Mary Ann mission in GTA V. Still sweet, tho.
My cousin proposed to his now wife with Mario Party 3.
Weird. I'm used to mario party ending friendships, not starting life long relationships
NashDIY lol
He modded it and at the end it said "Will You Marry Me" I think.
I was five beers in so I don't remember the exact story.
NashDIY cute
I respect your cousin
Got to love a guy who's ready to race around the world at a moment's notice.
Kinda a different thing but my friend once hacked a copy of Pokémon LeafGreen so that when you got to the end it said "I'M GAY" and gave it to her friend to come out to them
Awwwww❣❣👀🙈
WHOA
Kennedy E. Walton that’s gay,
Okay….
The fact that the voice actor went along with the one proposal is awesome.
The wedding crash DLC for Borderlands 2 is the best.
Headhunter 4: Mad Moxxi and the Wedding Day Massacre
Came here because i saw claptrap
My favorite was a story about a modded Pokemon that held a marriage proposal. I wish I remembered more about it, but I remember being really touched.
Clamp, Soak, Pound, Withdraw?
Haha, is that achievable without mods?? Maybe Cloyster...
But no, it was a mod that remapped the flowers on the ground to ask the question.
So who's proposal is this video then?
They're all going to marry each other in a polygamist cult. Jane's fan fiction said so. It's the file after the Anthem one.
*paranoid
Ftfy! ;)
I think Jane invited me to lunch.
I wonder if this is a set-up for the 'commenter edition' where a subscriber will propose to their partner.
I was the best man at a wedding and I told Klei about their love of don’t starve and Chester... they not only made a personal poster for them but have them two plush cheaters, two hats, and sooooo many lovely Chester gifts congratulating the happy couple! Klei is amazing!!!!
Man, I wonder what other emotions we missed with Jane's sarcastic defense mode. She probably experiences emotions every other episode.
Love that FPS on dying light // The Xbox experience
Joshie D You can just feel the frames dying
Lol I thought it was only me lol
Ikr? I thought it was me but nope, it's the footage
Yea.. the capture didn't work that well annoyingly on the xbox..
Ikr! Omegalul
Ah, romance. When I'm away from my love for too long, my hands shake, I break out in cold sweats and I become uncontrollably sad.
My love is alcohol, tbf.
or your addicted to a narcotic.
or both how bout that
Bailey Alexis Snow That got dark fast
Lol
Congrats on being human garbage.
How about games where it feels like a romance was forced into it at the last second?
ReadingatDawn I want more realistic romance 'options', like where they run away and hide if I ever mention anything more than a casual friendship.
" Tora did you know robots are physically incapable.of containing STDs "
I love that robot so much XD
I also proposed to my husband with Little Big Planet 2. I included all of our close friends as NPCs and two doors for yes or no. Yes sent him on an adventure to save me from monsters and no sent him to a room that dropped endless bombs on him. He made the right choice.
which one
birbfanchannel tighto well he’s my husband now so, he chose both to mess with me
Endless bombs u say
Gotta love a guy with a good sense of humor
One of my brother's friends proposed to his girlfriend with an app game he made. It was a platformer and it was filled with little in-jokes from their relationship. He asked us to test it and see if it works, and it was pretty cute
Here's an idea for the next video: *Times The Boss Was Having Way More Fun Than You Were.*
Top of the list? Dung Defender from Hollow Knight.
I think I'll stick to being the social recluse. Romance sounds far too... intense.
Romance involves people. ... people scare me.
I would, but my wolf baby bork disapprovingly. That is clearly the reason.
Yup… I‘m with you on that.
Recluse is definitly the way to go ... not that i had much a choice, but still ...
I am a social recluse, and somehow I'm in a relationship...I still have no idea how it happened
Did you choose the bird or the cage?
I chose the cage
I chose the bird, Naturally
WidowMaker What's that supposed to be?
Bounty Hunter Kakazu I chose the bird cage.
Bird.
Vault Dweller necklace in bioshock I think
These are fantastic. Too bad my proposal wouldn't count; I sent her on a quest from a priestess to retrieve a relic of Mara (Elder Scrolls, of course. The relic, of course, was the ring). But the quest was done in real life, not in-game.
My friend was the final boss. Every proposal should have a boss battle, right?
The fact the glados voice actor recorded the extra lines is really sweet of them
You know who else has been composing video game music since the 90's? Grant Kirkhope! He also did the music to this little game that no one on this channel has heard of, Kingdoms of Amalur, it's pretty good, you should check it out!
Connor Heddle-McGurk I loved Kingdoms of Amalur, especially the Teeth of Naros dlc.
(is joke, friend)
Put some money in the jar
>.> *drops pound coin into KOA jar*
Ellen, is that you? 😂
The Portal2 one almost had me in tears. Damn you, romantic nerds!
I have no room to speak; I'm a nerd too.
Jane's sarcasm defense mode is the most adorable thing I've yet to see. I'll have to activate my "Binge Scotch Drinking" mode; my OWN emotional suppression mechanism.
Excuse me while I show this to my boyfriend. For ... reasons. 😏
Beth Bloomer hehe
Beth Bloomer, but you are a dog who can apparently watch video and write comment on RUclips.
Proposal through RUclips? Original but worth saying "No." To.
Let us know how you get on :)
Beth Bloomer To ruin both of your lives with a nasty divorce a few years later? Nah, not worth the time, the money and the nerves.
What about Destiny? 2 developers got engaged through it after one had a letter planted in their partners Postmaster.
They even got an in game ring artifact too!
BFM_Driftor They were developers? I thought they were just players. It's a shame that ring didn't have stats though: p
ShadowFrost Of IceClan I believe so, I had to google it before commenting, didn't wanna make an ass of myself by getting it wrong lol
BFM_Driftor wasn’t there an emote?
Awe... how did Andy propose to Mike and Jane?
Oh claptrap, you're such a lovable scamp. I could just ELIMINATE YOUR ENTIRE PRODUCT LINE
Handsome Jack beat you to it.
Megg in Halo. What's more romantic than making your significant other jump on oil drums, not get shot while unarmed on the highest difficulty, kill your commanding officer, and then try to murder a bunch of marines to no avail, for a chance to walk down a hallway and stare at a bloody heart on the ceiling? Truly the stuff of fairy tales.
“Stressful life events, like a trip to Ikea.”
CONGRATULATIONS To the couple set to be wed next year after the "Dying Light" proposal. This is an example of the good games can do for people.
By far the funniest video you have made, I was laughing aloud throughout!
Even better is the DLC: "So, you know how we wanted to wait to have kids? Well ..." and microtransactions like: "Please take out the trash already".
I thought they were going to show clips of video game characters proposing to someone in video games. This was far more interesting! You never disappoint.
I like the 10fps in Dying Light
*YES! GET MATCHED, TILES!*
Jane hasn't always been this romantically inclined. She once had a one knife stand.
“You kids enjoy!”
Yeah that couple 100% got divorced (I know them both).
Oooooh -- I thought this was a video about weird IN-UNIVERSE proposals in unromantic games! Real-life ones are even better. :D A couple of these I'd heard of before -- the Klax and Portal 2 ones sound familiar -- but the others are pleasant surprises. I am continually impressed by how some people will propose :)
Expected "forever hold your controller", Keep up the great content.
Great video guys!
I love how ClapTrap slowly lifts that little board.
I like that the 'Up Next' video after this is Oxbox plays Narcosis. So romantic.
It’s good to know I’m not the only one using that sarcastic defence mechanism
"Challenge accepted!"
Guess we'll see Andy again in 80 days
My husband and I don't have much time for gaming these days (he works 40+ hours a week and we have a toddler) but we used to play a few games together regularly, one of them being Day Z.
We were playing with three friends: two of whom we know IRL and the third was someone who had recently started playing with us. The new guy suggested that my husband marry me because I was as into gaming as him and not half bad at it, either.
My husband turned his character to face mine then had him sit down (you can't kneel except when being tied up, if I remember correctly) and asked me to marry him, dropping a can of peaches at my character's feet. I said yes as I picked up the peaches while our friends had their characters clap and give the thumbs up. Now I kinda wish we had recorded it because it was cute.
congratulations 😄👍
Jane: “I propose a race around the world, gentlemen!”
Andy: “CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!!!”
Me: *after a laughing for five minutes* See you in eighty days, Andy!
Why is that Dying Light clip running at 10fps? Actually hurt my eyes
These are so beautiful. I'm not crying, *you're* crying!
Literally yesterday my cousin and her husband got married via gaming and they said “Live together and level up together “.
Jane, you have a Cassiopeia earring! That's so cool!
The Ultimate co op adventure...? Being kidnapped and dropped into an escape room together?
Jane's sarcasm shield is the realest thing ever. NO I DONT HAVE FEELINGS TCHH, proposals are dumb and make my eyes water with disdain.
I love your videos so much. But haven't you though of making a vid of 10 of the salty characters in videogames
I'm quite surprised to not see the Pixel Proposal on this list. Essentially, a guy and his buddies program a side scrolling platformer with the sole purpose of asking his girlfriend to marry him. It's lovely.
Protip: There's a highlight video on RUclips with the Lana Del Rey song "Video Games" as the background music. Watch that one.
So, in order to propose inside a video game, I'll have to have a girlfriend first.
404 Girlfriend not found.
I remember seeing a video on Facebook of a girl playing through a custom Super Mario level, with the words to the proposal being the platforms. She was in tears as she played it, really touching to watch.
LOL, the Claptrap marriage purposeful was the best!
My husband didn't propose through a game, but he did surprise me right before we got married with custom skins he made of us for our favorite game. 💜💜💜
Cassie JWL no I’m jealous 😢
Andy shouting 'challenge accepted!' really cracked me up.
I heard that someone on the bungie team from Destiny 1 created an emote of getting down one one knee and proposing. He used is to asked his girlfriend when they played together.
Tips and Tricks magazine 😍😍😍😍😍 ahhh the days before game informer
Imagine being so resiliant in your proposal idea you even can convince a voice actor of a famous game to participate in the process
I only knew of the Portal one. These were really nice.
My husband proposed to me via Minecraft! He built this massive scavenger hunt with mazes, a roller coaster and even a kitty cat café! We made a video of it for the reception
Jane! That explains why I always respond with sarcasm to anyone who steal my food. I'm actually crying inside.
I love the Lotus turbo challenge theme. It doesn't sound like a ringtone. Fight me.
6:59 had me bust out laughing
This channel is amazing.
Omg the lotus game!!!! I completely forgot about it... Awesome.
Andy managed to go around the world quite fast... What dark magic is this?
That Claptrap one was the best. lol
Okay, this was so freaking adorable. Love it!!!
I'm both relieved and disappointed that this video wasn't an elaborate polamorous proposal between oxbox and oxtra. A family that talks about gaming together, talks about staying together.
This video was sooo good, it activated my sarcasm defense mechanism to stop me from feeling real feelings of awe. Getting married in a game is sooo cliche and NOT totally awesome. Definitely.
This would have been the best video for one of you guys to sneak in a proposal of your own!
I feel like I've been deliberately misled, I thought someone was gonna get married to the Speedball 2 music theme... "Replay!" :P
"Did you know robots are physically incapable of having stds"😂😂
The Claptrap one made me laugh so hard I started to cry.😂
Did anyone else hear about the wedding proposal in the spider man game? The lady said no and the developers put out a patch to remove the proposal.
My boyfriend’s cousin emailed epic games and asked if they could put a note on a desk in fortnite to ask a girl to prom and they had it in the game for a while. That was pretty cool.
So thought there would be a proposal at the end for someone on the team! 😛
