- idk if people can see descpritions for shorts or not since you need to add them in through the studio on pc, but if you guys can i will be buying a new memory card for storing my games on nintendo switch soon and will re mod my nintendo switch on the old card for more memory towards my android emulator and Linux operating system just as a bonus. this will be turned into a full tutorial video with links and everything on how to mod a nintendo switch as well as get the emulators i have and what models of nintendo switches can/cannot be modded.

You can use an rcm jig or I find that a small folded piece of foil gum wrapper works well also
on the original switches with rcm space
Bad Idea! You can short circuit the wrong pins which could ruin your joycon rail or severely damage your switch! Buy a jig for $7 at most, very inexpensive !
Then you can turn on auto rcm which means you wont need the jig at all!

Just so you know, in hekate you can select the autorcm setting in settings and you won’t need the jig every time

@@reploidzero9058 works great I did auto RCM after the 3rd time I didn't feel like relying on the tinfoil so I have the piece of tinfoil in a little container just in case
@@he8535 wow man lol, i would rather not do autorcm as i havent used my switch to pirate games, i have 2 seperate memory cards for modding and legit switch online (aka i dont want my console or account banned for pirating, hacking etc.) enabling autorcm essentially bricks the original switch OS that was unmodded getting rid of everything official youve owned, including your account (if youve pirated games cause your account will get banned.) since you cant use it on the modded switch OS without getting banned which allows the console to force boot into rcm mode and from that point you just inject it while its weak. lol
@@reploidzero9058 idunno I have 2 options when in RCM and that's normal Nintendo switch is and I haven't been banned and the other is moded and they both work fine I can play online and I've got a filter on the moded firmware to block Nintendo servers but I'm usually using android or Linux with a second SD card

I just want to be able to randomize my Pokémon Sword/Sheild and Diamond/Pearl. I don't know.if i have to fully jailbreak the device to be able to do so but I have a red box Switch or what others call a V2 Switch so I don't know if I can.
Sadly you can’t with a Redbox switch currently. And to randomize your Pokémon I do think you have to do a full jail break. Although keep your switch around because it could be mod able in the future

Nah I’m experienced with modded devices especially Nintendo, I know what to avoid. I’ve had this thing modded for over a year and a half and it’s still perfectly fine.

Soft molding relatively anything is SUPER easy you just need to know what youre doing. If you dont thats how you end up bricked 😂. I will say though to be frank nintendo products are REDICULOUSLY easy to do compared to others nintendos security fucking SUCKS

I’d love to mod my switch but honestly it’s not worth getting my switch bricked considering it’s a $300 console
I understand that I was very careful about bricking and I haven’t had any issues in the year or more my switch has been modded
@@reploidzero9058 nintendo is notorious for putting out updates that will brick your modded systems, this has been happening since before days of the switch. So don’t be surprised if you wake up one day and your system is bricked
@@user-ix6vv8lo5jthis is a lie. Nintendo will only ban you if you connect to the servers, but this can be avoided using an emuNAND with atmosphere. Newest versions of atmosphere block all servers from nintendo.
Your console wouldn't get bricked...You IP would get banned if you played Switch games online. You can still download game, and system updates, but no multiplayer.
@@JaySpoonn thats not true at all, dont know where you got the idea that nintendo wont brick your system. of course theyd have to send it in an update and nothing would happen if you didnt download but its still a very real possibility
Let's say I do this, will all my original games for the switch be saved? Will this do anything harmful?
You need an external memory card so if you saved all your games onto a memory card make sure you back them up before doing this. But you could always use a separate mem card I can’t remember well but I’m pretty sure it required you to reformat the card under a different thing so you can flash hekate

What is a payload is it like a file to a game you can’t get on the switch?
a payload is the custom firmware (hekate) that allows me to do all the modifications on my switch

@Coastwo of course in fact i have atmosphere on mine, instead of clicking on more configs, in the payloads sectioni have a file called fusee.bin which is atmosphere

Running CFW is NOT illegal despite being called jailbreaking. Using it for PIRACY IS a crime, however you are absolutely correct about the account banning once you jailbreak your switch you CANNOT go back online or you WILL get banned

That works, but absolutely not worth it, a jig is only a few bucks
Plus, u can easily short ur whole console using a paperclip
@@reploidzero9058 it works but can damage pins and if you short pin 4 you'll fry your switch. Better to just get an RCM Jig and short the right pins. Btw for anyone wondering you have to short pin 10 with either 1,2 or 7 to 1+10, 2+10 OR 7+10 iirc

To be fair i thought surley this would take longer the 3ds takes at least 20 minutes 😂
Well this isn’t a full modding process my 3ds is hard modded so it boots right into my cfw, not sure if there is anything like this on 3ds but the entire switch mod only took around 15 minutes to move files, install HEKATE and then boot into cfw.
@reploidzero9058 did you use a flash cart or the chip method for your 3ds? And for the n3ds we kinda have similarities because you can just ftp the whole soft mod using the n3ds builtin ftp but on o3ds you have to sd card the whole thing or use a flash cart which I'm mot comfortable doing lmfao
@@MxrtalDemxn I used an ds card, I have 512gb of storage on it and it was pretty easy to do. It doesn’t keep me from playing online and I don’t even need the sd card to use cfw it’s all on the 3ds thanks to a file manager.

Well if you have an android phone you can do this still, I am pretty sure they have something just like tegraRCMGui on android and you can do all the microsd card transfers from the phone easily

edit: you do need a microsd card and a device that can write to it but other than that

Yea the modded files that get injected come from a file on your computer combined with the stuff on your “modified” sd card
