Meat Jun is a dish that is popular in Hawaii for dinners, parties, picnics and potlucks. It is similar to teriyaki beef but goes a step further by dredging in flour and egg and pan fried. It is simple to make and few ingredients are needed. Kids and adults love this marinated tender beef and go back for seconds. It can also be made with chicken, pork or fish. It is usually fried in oil but a healthy alternative is to use non-stick spray.

This brought back good memories - I used to eat Meat Jun about once a week at a small shop in Wahiawa, HI. Big portion on rice with macaroni salad and kimchi sides in a Styrofoam tray - one portion enough for four people! Absolutely delicious!

I’m so glad I just found your channel! I fell in love with Hawaiian food when I lived near a Korean auntie who had a Hawaiian restaurant. I moved away and have had a craving for it but I tried this today and even my boyfriend who’s never had Hawaiian loved it! Thank you for sharing this recipe 😊
