- Welcome to my brand new Flosstube channel.
In this video I'll be diving into some of my recent cross stitch, embroidery and quilting projects and showcasing my upcoming WIPs. I'll also let you have a sneak peek at my ludicrously large stash. You'll also hear about some of the amazing Flosstuber friends that I've met at various trips and retreats.

I, too, am a lone stitcher. My friends I used to stitch with have either moved away or too busy with life. I really miss the fellowship. No one in my family is the least bit interested in my stitching. I am a homebody & can stay home for days and days & be perfectly content as long as I have my stitching, my little dachshund, and Flosstube or an audiobook. Your work is beautiful! So creative! I look forward to more Flosstubes to come!

I think Brenda and Laura have certainly put you on the map and rightly so! Your work is amazing and you are so easy to watch. I too am a solitary stitcher - my husband and I are farmers in Zambia so live pretty remotely! I feel all the people I watch on flosstube are my friends. Thank you for sharing.

Wonderful ❤. I kept saying through out your entire floss tube- ME TOO!! From Frankie goes to Hollywood, all the 90’s framed stitches I have, and the fact that I only really want to go out if I’m getting hair or nails done. Or out with my adult children. No one around me understands this world, thank goodness for floss tube!!!Kindred spirit all the way in Texas. Love all your finishes! I haven’t done embroidery in quite a few years but seeing your kit inspired me. All those pretty pastels and soft muted colors!!

I’d encourage you to share your stitching on IG as I have a lot of non-stitching friends and family that are following me there… They know I stitch and if they love me they know it’s my passion and if they don’t, they certainly don’t say anything negative. In fact, several non-stitching friends have commented and said how beautiful they think something is. So just go for it, we’d all love to see your finishes up close…You have so many gorgeous ones just in this first FT.

Thank you for introducing yourself and showing so many of your beautiful projects. It’s ashamed that postage has gone so high. In June here in the US the postage is going to increase yet again. It’s just dreadful that it costs and arm and a leg but gets slower in receiving our letters and packages. I started cross stitching 50 plus years ago but stopped when I had my two children. Didn’t have any spare time to myself, then I went back to work when my littlest was 2 1/2 years old. Just couldn’t pay bills on one paycheck. Now I’m retired and have all the time to myself. I to really enjoy just staying at home especially in the 7 months of winter we get here in Wisconsin. So in the summer I ran like crazy all over visiting and enjoying the countryside by car. We’ll nap time . Looking forward to listening to you next month. You did a great job for it being your first time doing a floss tube. Never would have guessed it. Take care, Darlene Creuzer

Absolutely fantastic , I came over fro Brenda and Laura's Channel catching up on some flosstube. It was a joy to watch you, like most of us we all have way too much we will never stitch, so I just consider myself a collector of the patterns as well as a stitcher. Like you I cross stitch, embroider, knit a bit, crochet, Quilt, needle point It if has thread or yarn, i am usually doing something with it. Your girls will pick it up once they settle in their lives and and need something to calm their nerves lol.. Welcome to the Crazy group of wonderful floss tube.

Wow! You are so natural in front of the camera. Thank you for sharing your beautiful needlework, this was such an unexpected treat for my Saturday morning. I’ve just returned to cross stitching in my retirement and I absolutely love it. In December I decided to complete a sampler that I packed away in 2003 and now I’m addicted! I’d never stitched on linen before so I’m stitching the HATS little gems whilst working my way up the counts. I’ve just started Eleanor Steele on 36 count and so far I love it. I’m pushing myself because I’m going to the Jeanette Douglas workshop at Fobbles next week and she is using 36 count 🤣🤣. I can’t wait to see your next Floss Tube. I was watching Brenda and Laura when mentioned you. She said stop watching us and go over and watch Periwinkle Stitcher right away. So I did. And I'm so glad. I love all of your beautiful finishes, and the way you explain and your beautiful home. I know how it is also about our children (I have three grown daughters and one of them lives in England) and how they are happy for us and our passion but they don't quite "get it". Well we get it and we love watching floss tube and seeing other stitchers work. I'm so glad I came and watched and I look forward to your next video. It was lovely meeting you. Hello Sian, from Mississippi in the USA. Your first video was awesome. When you said you probably spend too much time alone, it made me tear up and hit home, I knew we could be friends. Your handwork is beautiful and look forward to more. I recently deleted my Instagram, because I realized I was scrolling way too much and would rather spend that time stitching because I too have “sable” issues and need to keep busy. I realized I needed to live my life and not spend it seeing what others are doing constantly, but I certainly enjoy flosstube playing while stitching or listening to books.

Fabulous video! I totally understand…I created a second instagram account with my flosstube name that is only for stitching to avoid having friends roll their eyes. I am also a lone stitcher. I do have a sister who stitches so I can talk with her about stitchy things but she golfs a lot so she’s often not available to bounce ideas off of. And, like you, my daughters and my friends kind of get that glazed look in their eyes when I try to talk about it so I’ve given up trying. But I’ve found that I’m quite content in my solitude. For my whole life I have done handwork/needlework and it brings me joy. I guess I’m a process stitcher (only learned that after watching flosstube) in that I don’t care much for finishing projects after the stitching is done. One of the recent things that was discussed at my most recent retreat was what you call yourself when you talk to other people (non-stitchers) about what you do with your time. Most people thought the term cross stitching brought negative reactions while needlework or vintage needleworker was thought to be more interesting and, perhaps, more current for today? And actually I’ve really been every kind of needleworker over my lifetime (seamstress, smocker, tatter, French hand sewer, embroiderer, knitter, cross stitcher, etc. I’ve done them all). So I’ve renamed myself. I’ll let you know how it goes! AND, your flosstube was fabulous! Loved it!
