Andris Nelsons is my favorite orchestra. I congratulate the Boston Symphony Orchestra to pick him as their new leader. Andris Nelsons already showed in his performances with the Berliner Philharmoniker what the world can expect from him for a hopefully very long future. He is the upcoming best conductor of the new generation. It is a joy to see him leading an orchestra and to listen to the wonderful results. I can't wait to listen to Mahler's 3. Symphony conducted by Maestro Nelsons with the BSO on January 20, 2018 in Boston.

A lot of people were introduced to MAHLER by the film DEATH IN VENICE (SYMPHONY 5 AND 3)

Nothing against him as an individual. BUT cannot stand watching him conduct. What a fussy little peacock! Saw him make his debut with the VPO. Literally stopped looking at him after a few minutes. Would not watch him again for free.

He still has a long way to go to becoming the premier conductor of Mahler, but I appreciate his insights. He needs to improve in English if he plans to stay in Boston.

Osawa wasn't that fluent in English either, yet he lasted 23 years in Boston so .......... sorry, but Andris has risen BSO to a new heights since he was posted as the Director, ((despite his "choppy English")) which I care less since I go to his concerts for his performance, not for his dominance of the English language.....
