It's a beautiful performance, but except for Tessa and Scott's skilled skating I don't think it's a very original performance.
I think Marina Anissina & Gwendal Peizerat "Romeo and Juliette" and "Esmeralda" are more memorable as program compositions.

I had the amazing and great fortune to be there live. Everyone was quiet. Everyone around me whether they were Canadian or Chinese or Japanese or Russian, we all knew we were watching one of the most beautiful and special things in the world. Deep down, we all knew we were watching the gold medal performance. The TV viewing audience knew about their Gold before them and us. It was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. Thank you Virtue and Moir.

The way they look at each other even before they start skating is remarkable. These two really have a connection & chemistry & it’s like they’re giving each other special vibes. One of the reasons why they work so well together.

0:23 the look, the closeness, the tenderness. That's a beautiful connection.
My tendency is to look at her but watch Scott from the beginning of the video until he has to turn away to take the opening stance... he looks at her virtually the entire time
0:28 When he guides her in and they touch foreheads, I melt. His tender stroke down her back and arm... his gaze

Ice dance because Virtue/Moir closely matched G/G in that they’ve been together for a long time, had the same choreographer, and have that special “it” factor, have chemistry and had the skills (technically and artistically) to take on this challenge - and most importantly, had to have three ability to portray unity and special connection - that was really important for Marina.
I’m sure Marina would have done a pairs team had there been a team worthy of it. As it so happens, ice dance was a good choice since it tends to be more expressive.

If he leads her like he should, takes care of her during dancing, and makes her shine or make her the star of the dance without putting himself too much in the spotlight you have a good one. And THAT is exactly what he does! Combine that with Tessa and you have Gold!

She had a second surgery later that year. The first surgery she had a few years prior didn't give her much relief. She had it done on both legs on her shins and calfs at the same time and that is no joke! They literally gash open the limbs to make room for the muscles so they can expand properly.

It is worth noting the loving air with which Scott looks and touches Tessa's body before beginning their display, a display that was a continuous dance of enchantment , and of moments of relationship between Scott and Tessa characterised by great elegance and intimate connection between them. They were simply superb.

If I get down, I can watch this and be lifted into a happier world. In the first viewing my eyes will focus on Tessa; when I repeat it, my eyes will focus on Scott. Truly a pair made in heaven. Speaking of heaven, I hope there's ice skating there.

I'm from Italy, and i'm following figure skating since 1992, but that early morning ( here in Italy was morning when they skated) of two years ago it was the first time i had teard in my eyes at the end of a program. I still get goosebumps and chills down my spine every time i watch it!!!!
They really captured my heart that day, and this incredible free dance and that magical night will be in my heart forever!!

So in sync with each other that their arm movements match even when they aren't looking at each other during their opening stance. Scott on bended knee in front of Tessa before kissing her hand - I died!

On ice skating rink so many performers came, did good, so many would come in future, but Tessa and Moir, the duo would certainly remain on ice skating rink, may be not physically, but in the air and in the hearts of millions, forever........never to end, never to former chapter, even after their absence from the world. Geniuses are always scanty by nature.

As I am watching this video a while ago I feel happy and sad. Happy in the sense that I will always see and remember their greatest performance. As they perform, their facial expressions radiates love and affection that's why fans mistook it for love with one another. Sad because they are now retired and not destined with each other but they will leave a legacy to the skating world.I'll never be tired of watching this video. As of this time I'm watching it again. Beautiful choreography by the same lady who did Gordeeva and Grinkov's numbers. No doubt it was also a tribute to them because it the same song that Gordeeva danced to her husband died. Also, many of the poses in this dance were reminiscent of some of G&G' s performances.
