Revisiting this(Maria McKee), it's astounding how far ahead of her time she was, in many ways. Listening to this, is so great, why don't the best rise to the top?
Maria McKee is fucking incredible! This album and tour were phenomenal! Her newest album is also brilliant...and, a companion piece to LIFE IS SWEET. It is called LA VIDA NUOVA One of the absolute BEST releases of 2020
Just brilliant. Two great performances of two great songs from an incredible album, it doesn’t come much better than this. Life Is Sweet here is possibly even better than her Hotel Babylon gig??

So you’re one of those insecure idiots who has to shoehorn everything into your own extremely limited frame of reference in order to force yourself to appreciate it. Don’t ever call anyone a princess again. It’s patronizing and extremely creepy!
I saw her perform for the first time on this tour in the States. It was before the record was released so I heard the songs live for the first time and was blown away. Same with the second time I saw her on the High dive tour, I didn't have the CD yet and it was amazing. Usually you kind of like to know the songs first. I was dropped jawed amazed with tears in my eyes.
Saw her the day before at Shepherds Bush Empire ... Phenomenal ! One of the best and most intrinsic voices ever. Also one of the great guitar tones on this album & tour !
I was there! Right at the front. Did you spot Fergal Sharkey in the audience? Place was a long way from full, but what a performance. Gibson Les Paul Junior. My mate has one. Plays better than any guitar I’ve played.
Cool! We didn’t spot Fergal Sharkey in the audience that day, but have since met him more recently. The Les Paul Junior sound is great. Personally think her sunburst sounds better than her TV Special. Think she may have been playing through Dumble amps at the time ? Great sounds and a great time.
What a fantastic performance! Great song , great guitar sound! And she sang that smushy song from days of thunder??? Who would have guessed that?? Shes a talented writer/performer thats for sure

I saw her touring her first solo album in London at the Town+Country in Kentish Town, one of the best small-venue gigs I ever went to. Wasn't around when she came over for this album and based on this performance I missed a classic. Thanks for posting.

Yes you did miss an absolutely brilliant Life Is Sweet show (sorry!), I saw her at Shepherd’s Bush Empire (bumped into “A Good Heart” Fergal Sharkey) and got a ferry across to France to see her at the Divan du Monde, also brilliant...mind you she always is

Apparently I’ve been living under a rock. Why haven’t I ever heard of this amazing woman. Just “discovered” her and I’m seriously blown away.
She was a commercial flop that had some afterlife in the UK.

Saw Lone Justice at the Ritz in 1985. Sae them again in Montclair NJ in 1987. Amazing shows. There is no other voice like this. Truly one of a kind.

Had both lone justice albums, &her first solo, only heard this recently, would love to have seen her live around this time.
Saw her twice on the LIS tour, London and Paris, amazing experiences.
