I like how Scroops design makes him stand out from the crew.
The rest of the aliens are all coloured with the same grey and seem to just blend in with each other despite having different appearances.
Scroop on the other hand is coloured black and red with a purple vest and a brown cap.
There are also his burning yellow eyes and his fangs.
He is also a combination of a spider and a crab.
Micheal Wincott is a great actor for villain roles like Scroop. In the three Musketeers in 1993, and I've seen him in the Count of Mobte Cristo.

Yea most look like regular crewman, a few look thuggish at the most, but Scroop is the only one that looks genuinely evil

@@christoperfleming6832 I honestly don't remember if they'd already started to develop a friendship, but if I remember correctly, they had just started the voyage. A little early for mutiny, don't you think? They had a good captain, the kid with the map and the doctor who was capable of reading it. I'd wait until I'd found the treasure, then they would've done all the hard work for me. Also, he was kinda blowing their cover.

Pay attention to Scroop's face from 1:11 onwards.
Annoance, confusion, realisation, fear, and pain. All within a few seconds and easily distinguishable.

i love the way Scroop looked like he was about to say something else but then saw how Silver was looking at him and changed his mind
That time Scroop had no convenience to go against Silver, instead Arrow wasn't his real boss, so he eas ready to fight him.
Anyone notice the superb attention to mechanical detail with Silver's arm? Right when he squeezes Scroops' wrist, it doesn't articulate like a hinge, it slides down with a gear mechanism, akin to Lego Technic functions. They can easily go one way but they went the other and really pushed the creative envelope with his appendage :3

It's probably made easier by the fact the mechanical arm was actually animated in 3D, which should help for this kind of detail.
The whole movie was a 3D/2D hybrid, which is why it costed so much... and never got a sequel (although, it did get some video game love back in the day)

I really love the designs of the aliens in this movie. They range from mostly humanoid with a few strange features, to downright beastly, it’s fantastic!
And the animation on that wet mop head, it’s so damn good!
LOL I love Jim's sarcastic sense of humour. He can be very mischievous and brave at the same time. He's my favourite Disney Hero because I can really relate to him.

I love the wackiness and zaniness of the aliens in this movie. One has two separate aliens that operate in tandem as head and body, one has its eyes in its mouth, along with a slug-like alien that also serves as its tongue, and one can only speak by making fart noises, which also happens to be a language.
Incredible scene. Anyway, Michael Wincott is an awesome actor because he’s excellent doing the role of Scroop in this film.

Scroop plays the role of Israel Hands from the original novel. Therefore he is required in the story.
When you're in seedy business you will have to deal with the ocasional loose cannon, there isnt always a surplus of candidates. Scroop was still a mistake, though.

Roscoe Lee Brown has such a fine, commanding voice. He was perfectly cast as Mr. Arrow.

You know, out of all of the versions of Long John Silver I've seen, this one is the one you wanna mess with the least. I mean, you don't wanna mess with Charlton Heston, Tim Curry or Robert Newton, either, but cyborg Silver is the one
Being a cyborg is one thing, the Treasure Planet version of Long John Silver being an alien that was partially inspired by a bear is another.
@@DarsiPadillaSilver is captain for a reason. Most of his versions is where he has a bum leg and a cane, which in appearance looks rather weak, but his smarts is what made him feared. This one is more fearsome, because not only is this silver just as smart as the others, but he's essentially a cybernetically enhanced alien bear. That's someone you shouldn't fuck with at all.
Ironically, this is one that we don't see actually kill anyone despite being the most dangerous.
I just noticed that Mr.Arrow's shovel chin and huge eyebrows make him look like a bipedal, tailless Uragaan in a commander suit. It does help he's a humanoid almost entirely made of rock.
I feel like Mr Arrow looks a bit like the Iron Golems from Minecraft xd

It's weird how a movie this good almost killed Disney but all the cheap live action they make today still didn't killed it
Live action is generally cheaper. Let's look at 2002 in films. The biggest money makers were Two Towers and Chamber of Secrets. Two Towers was made on a budget of $90 million and made $947.9. Chamber of Secrets had a budget of $100 million and made $900 million.
The budget for Treasure Planet was $140 million and it only made $109.6 million.
Lets look at the live action Disney movies from that year (Country Bears: budget of $35 million only made $18 million and the Santa Clause 2: budget of $65 million and made $172.9 million). As you can see they are generally cheaper and thus easier to make a profit. Obviously, with inflation, movie making is more expensive.
It bugs me that Lilo & Stitch is more well known than this yet came out the exact same year.

Michael Wincott is the voice of Mr Scroop. He is not normally known for Voice Acting and does a lot of Live Action Theatrical/Television acting
In terms of Voice Acting he is known for 3 specific roles. Treasure Planet, Prophet of Truth in Halo 2 and the God of Death in Darksiders II
He has since not acted for an entire year.
