    Apparently if you rip the leaves the plant feels threatened and produces hotter chilli peppers

    Hey there Khang! Do you know what causes infertile flowers? All my pepper plants except the Bhut Jolokia will get fertile flowers. So far I never see any pollen from both Jolokias I have and they just drop the flowers. They are outdoor grown, but was in a growhouse earlier. (same problem there)

      I think Khang must get a bit tired of answering this question. I've even asked it myself. Go through the basic checks, soil PH, leaf health, heat and soil moisture. Often the first flowers onto a plant will drop without producing pollen, but sometimes it can be due to the reasons I mentioned prior.

    I live in north Texas , all my pepper plants are curly because they have been baking in this 107 heat lol

    • @KhangStarr
      @KhangStarr  6 лет назад +1

      Yes, the heat here has been crazy! Try to give them some shades if you can. Always keep the soil moist, never let them become too dry. When the soil becomes to dry, it could kill the beneficial bacteria in it and also becomes very compacted that it will cause the plants to have problems.

      Same here, im living in finland and you may think that here is cold but this summer have been really hot. One thing that is good is that i have my plants in containers so i can move them if it gets to hot.

    It's July 18th, is it too late to top my reapers?

    • @KhangStarr
      @KhangStarr  6 лет назад

      It depends on where you live. If you have a long season, you can top it. It takes about a month for the recovery process. Reapers usually grow full and produce within 4 months.

    • @leebrasher5242
      @leebrasher5242 6 лет назад

      well I started them during the winter from seed. And now they got in to be about 10 in tall and just barely starting to bud. I'm excited to see my first pepper that's why I'm hesitating to top it.
