The simple ways i have learnt to slow down recently are: Taking a nap whenever i need one Do simple stretching after sitting for a long time Just spend some time outdoor and enjoy nature Listen to instrumental music and meditate
there is something so therapeutic of slowly making and enjoy your cup of tea or coffee. i love waking up early to do this and enjoy the stillness in the morning😊
As I get older (and I have blown out my adrenals!), I've found that setting my alarm before sunrise (going to bed at least 7.5 hours before then) gets me off to the most productive and also the most calm mindset for the day. I have plenty of time to sip tea, make my bed, clean my house, organize my files, send emails, prepare breakfast, take supplements, pack food for the day, prep dinner etc before leaving the house for the day. Throughout the day, each time I accomplish a daily task or goal, I give myself a little "me" time to listen to music, step into a shop, make a social call etc. Yes mini-breaks are a great investment in rejuvenation
I just turned 30 this year and I’ve started doing the same. Starting the day with anything but work for 2 hours makes me feel so much better. I look forward to waking up. When I start work, I also feel more relaxed and awake. It’s really improving my life. It doesn’t feel like I’m just “free” in the evening and everything else is just work.
You are so right!! When you have spent most of your life being so busy, it seems like you're wasting time trying to just sit and relax....but its really important for our health to make the effort to do nothing once in a while!!!
I love # 3. It reminds me of a quote that I have lived by for the past several months and it has honestly brought so much peace into life and that's saying something in these crazy times...it says "choose your arguments. You don't have to show up for every argument that you're invited to." Not reading the news helps too :)
I really needed to hear this today. I got teary when you got to #10... guarding my time, esp when you said that I was allowed to guard it and it was precious. I never thought of it. I tend to give and give. Your channel has helped me calm down and enjoy my life for once in a long time. I actually enjoy my mornings again. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts Naomi. I'm glad the video has given you some valuable insights. Take care and I hope you're doing well! Sending you a big hug
I recently found this channel and I've been implementing some of your recommendations. When I wake up I usually just start rushing. I'm now taking a few minutes to just sit down on my bed and take some deep breaths and just let my brain fully wake up. I've been doing things during the day as well. It's working wonders! I've been so calm the last few days. I wouldn't have known just simple things mattered so much.
Watching this video at the weekend is incredibly soothing. I like your soft voice and the way you present. It is extremely easy for me to follow. Thanks! Enjoy your weekend!
I don’t know what it is. When I’m overstimulated I listen to your videos. Your voice matches your inner peace. One day I hope to be as well adjusted to the hsp thing as you are. Thanks for what you do.
Thanks for the lovely video. To slow down, I check on my dogs and plants, tidy up, and review my work and personal to-do lists. I just placed an order with Ikkyu. Can't wait to try their teas!
Great tips on taking short little breaks, like a foot massage, neck massage and deep breathing, I find myself doing this more often without even realizing it now. These small self care tips really work. My day is so much better when I do them. 💗
I love to read, because then i can dive into another world or another place. This is so beautiful,it a calms me and brings me down,i enjoy the quietness.I love that video,it gives me so much information and it is very soothing, your voice is very calming too. Have a wonderful weekend, everyone🌻🥰
I am so needing this in my life, I am always rushing around and take no time just for me. I’m going to try and put some of these principles into practice. Thank you
This was a lovely video. I loved the gentle reminder to stop and breathe. We are always on the go. To take those mini breaks can and do help. I work from home and I set a timer to take a small break to walk outside my home and take a-little stretch and walk around my house, setting the sprinklers and picking up some fallen leaves. It helps me reset.
I am grateful to live in a town where there is wilderness and beautiful nature right outside my door. Sometimes I walk a bit slower and intentionally pause to look at a particular tree or pause to listen to wildlife- birds and other. Often I see deer at certain times of day and I like to pause to look at them or make soft footfall as I walk by them. I do not try to anthropomorphize these encounters. I'm just present with them and feel extreme gratitude for their presence. Your videos are lovely!
I am Japanese who have found your channel recently. I am interested in minimalism and slow living so your videos will definitely help me a lot. And, I am really happy to know that you love Japanese green tea. I love Gyokuro, too. I recommend "Hoji-cha" and "Mugi-cha", if you haven't tried them yet. Have a great week, I am really looking forward to your next video. Thank you,
Thank you so much Yuriko, welcome to the channel! :) So happy you're enjoying my videos. Actually, I really love hoji-cha and mugi-cha as well! :) I always have some chilled mugi-cha in the summer, it reminds me of the time I spent in Japan :) And hoji-cha is also really tasty. Have a lovely day!
@@SimpleHappyZen Thank you so much for your reply, Vera! I'm glad that you've already tried hoji-cha and mugi-cha, and liked them. Have a lovely day, too.
I looooove 🍵 I really needed to hear your message today. I always feel like everything never stops I recently became a stay at home mom (which I am so very grateful for, I know not everyone can do that) but I feel like many think how easy that must be and I probably sit back and watch TV and take naps... I thought that's what it would be like. If only I had time to do that! LoL! I'm working hard to start my own business and homeschool my 4 year old. I also have an 11 month old. The only quite moment I have is after the kids go to sleep for maybe an hour. I've attempted to bring minimalism into my life for the past two years hoping that it'll make life easier and be able to slow down. Which is not the case. there's so many different elements that have to come together. I love listening to your videos when I'm cleaning ❤️ you have such a lovely voice
Thank you Cecily and it sure sounds like you have a lot on your plate :) Take good care and I hope you can find some small minutes here and there to tend to your needs too :)
Enjoying every minute of my time off. My colleagues and family are on an endless treadmill even on their days off or holidays. Relax 😊 cup of tea, watch the birds in the garden, read a book
Love this video, I work at a very face paced environment, however when I come home or run errands, I’ll make sure to apply these techniques. Thanks for encouraging us to slow down a bit.
Thank you SO MUCH for posting tips that can work for working people! I don't have time to do most others' tips on self-care, but these seem small enough to easily do on a lunch break or between work assignments.
Thank you Robert! :) Haha actually this was filmed on the last day the temperature was still pleasant, so I lucked out. :) Otherwise I would've looked very sweaty haha
I can't believe that each and every tip here is a gem. Usually in a video u get only a few that works, but your video is next level. I specifically have issues with racing thoughts, n your tip was a light bulb moment! 😊 Thanks! Also, side note, love the way u explained/introduced the sponsorship product! I usually fast forward it always...but I listened to your talk all the way through even though I'm not a tea person. It was so well done! 🥰
I used to have this. Now having an Electronic planner and a paper planner has helped me Relax and know that that task will not be forgotten and will be done. I also, Intentionally, put the Most Priority ones on a Note Pad in my Car and Accomplish those for the Day. "Let Go & Let God." Blessings, Luv & Light.
I loved this! I have always loved origami! It is a way to help relax! When I was little girl me and my dad would make cranes and different birds. Such a warm memory. Wishing you a beautiful weekend!❤️🤗🙏🏻
Racing around is hard on your blood pressure and nervous system. I'm able to get more done slowly since it's done right the first time. Perfectionism doesn't seem to plague me as much when I'm intentional.
Hi Vera.. Slow living is very necessary in today's pandemic situation, as I think so. Our thoughts are actually running so fast. Your tips always helps us to think differently. I m enjoying your video with taking cup of tea. Thanks . Enjoy moments 🎉🎉
At first I read "time x 1.5 planning" as "time x 15 planning," and I thought, yeah, be sure to have enough time, but that seems excessive... You cleared that up soon enough though. 😆 Thank you for the tips! I'm thinking of starting an art/writing journal now. I haven't done that since high school, but you reminded me of it.
I enjoy one week of vacation without my family each year. Sounds mean, but I read 3- 4 books and drink tea and stare at the sea. As I rent a sailboat for this week, I can do sone slow sailing and nobody distracts me from doing nothing. During the rest of the year I do five minutes of Yoga first thing in the morning. It is my priority.
Wonderful video and I’m interested in the tea. I haven’t tried green tea but drinking too much coffee is giving me palpitations so I will give it a try.
Glad you enjoyed the video Lynby! I'm also careful with coffee, I love the taste but I limit myself to once a day, as well as a few coffee-free days every once in a while. I personally find the effects of green tea to be much gentler 😊🍵
I just found your channel and im so happy i did. You have such a nice, calm energy which also calms myself. I can see you are a grateful person and i really adore that. ( not many can be grateful) just really happy i found your channel:) greets from austria☺️
Aah that little dinosaur is so cute! Its nice to work with your hands. I think it was in one of your assignments from the Unhurried course that you said to go play, and i build a post office from Lego! 😃 It was very relaxing!
Hi Vera! Thank you for another brilliant video full of great tips. I actually wrote them all down in my journal! I am going to try scheduling mini breaks because just like you, I tend to get into work flow and forget to take breaks. PS - I just have to agree with everyone else - your natural hair is looking gorgeous! 😍
Aw thank you so much Rachel, that's so sweet of you to say :) And I'm so happy to hear you enjoyed the tips in this video! Take care and take lots of breaks :)
I love green tea, too! 🍵 It gives me a nice little boost of energy in the morning that is steady throughout the day but without making me jittery or triggering my anxiety. Tastes great, too.
Really need to implement this in my life,I used to get out of the auto & walk 5-10 minutes when driving in sales a lot of miles in Western Canada. Then in my own little business of holistic health & medical electrolysis I really got burnt out, but drinking green tea ( good anti-oxidant) and deep breathing is good! Thank you!
I was a supervisor in my old job. Everything was sooo fast, running all over the place like a crazy chicken. Even at home I had work in my head. I did not renew my contract and took a job as a clerk 🤗 I do my things at a more sane speed snd when the clock says 5, I go home with no homework or puzzles.
I was up to your fourth point about pointless conversations, I'd just spent at least 2-3 hrs on some pointless conversations literally and so felt the Father used you to speak to me about that "! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
You talking about managing one's energy made me think of a vidro by Rowena Tsai about tile management and "productivity" with the same message. It was kind of revolutionary for me XD
Thanks for the suggestion Laura! :) Maybe I'll do that sometime. It's a bit hard since the journal is of a personal nature, to find a way to make the video interesting
I found microbreaks helped in the postal service to consider the relative pace and conditions of putting a routes mail together most efficiently with managerial pressure bearing down. As far as tea is concerned try tension tamer rather than going postal from late arriving mail or express mail. You'll be better for implementing these tips.
I found this video very soothing. I now want to learn more about Japanese teas - My brain is asking ‘What was she using/doing with that implement in the tea? Do you need to agitate it to release flavour? ‘ I need to know. 🙏❤️
So happy to hear you enjoyed the video! No haha, you don't need anything fancy to make Japanese green tea like this. I used a french press (normally used for coffee) because that's what I use for all of my teas. But you can use your normal setup for preparing loose leafed teas :). Also, these teas all come with an explanation for how to brew the perfect cup :)
Thanks Vera, for all those tips. I especially liked the one where u suggested to move away from unwanted discussions or talks. I have been, of late, trying to do this. Coz the pandemic has itself brought so much stress, this was adding up. Not quite successful though. 😏
Yay! I'm so excited, I've always wanted a tea sponsor for the channel. 😊🍵 Enjoy the video my friends!
What's your favorite way of slowing down? 👇
I don't have one, because I don't know how to slow down.
I have two bird feeders and a bird bath- I love to sit and watch the birds.
I got for a walk
I sit outside in my backyard and watch the birds and the sunrise and sunset
"Walk away from pointless discussions." Very good advice!

Taking a nap whenever i need one
Do simple stretching after sitting for a long time
Just spend some time outdoor and enjoy nature
Listen to instrumental music and meditate

Hi Vera have a nice week
Hi there, thank you, you too! :)
😄Simple Happy Habit🥰
Watching your videos👍❤
😄🤗
I was up to your fourth point about pointless conversations, I'd just spent at least 2-3 hrs on some pointless conversations literally and so felt the Father used you to speak to me about that "! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
You talking about managing one's energy made me think of a vidro by Rowena Tsai about tile management and "productivity" with the same message. It was kind of revolutionary for me XD
Fantastic!
Thank you so much Amy :)
awww alright love this
Haha thank you :)
Please share more about your art journal! 💜💜
Thanks for the suggestion Laura! :) Maybe I'll do that sometime. It's a bit hard since the journal is of a personal nature, to find a way to make the video interesting
Daily yoga works x🙏x😘
Yes, it's so nice! :)
One and a half times longer than I think it will take.....I will try that formula!
Yes, try it and let me know how it works out :)
I found microbreaks helped in the postal service to consider the relative pace and conditions of putting a routes mail together most efficiently with managerial pressure bearing down. As far as tea is concerned try tension tamer rather than going postal from late arriving mail or express mail. You'll be better for implementing these tips.
Lovely.
Thank you Beck :) Have a lovely day
Great tips!
Thank you so much Karen, take care and have a lovely day!
Now I am going to prepare myself a tea 😊 good idea
Yay! I hope you enjoyed it 🤗🍵
I found this video very soothing.
Thank you Jana, good to see you here again! 😄🍵
@@SimpleHappyZen Thanks Vera. There have been happenings at home which is why I am hard pressed for time, ironic as it is 😀
