- The Honda Knot is commonly used in lassos. The round fixed loop it creates allows free movement of rope to easily slide through this small fixed loop. Generally this knot will be used in stiffer rope used in cattle working ropes.

This guy is so incredibly cool
What an interesting knot Ben, always wondered how the lasso worked 👍
You should check out the video in the description. It really shows exactly how they do it.
@@txtoolcrib just checked out the video excellent Ben, I love watching a skilled craftsmen at work. 👌
This is the easiest, quickest, and best way to make loop when you’re making a bowstring.
Terrific! Thanks for bring these solid skills sets to a broader audience. The HONDA KNOT definitely requires the stopper in the end of the rope to make this universally used loop for lassoes. It's interesting to note that in the Ashley Book of Knots ABOK 1024 is labeled: 'BOWSTRING KNOT or HONDA KNOT'. The Bowstring Knot is tied exactly the same with or without the stopper. By pulling on the end the size of the loop can be shortened or lengthened to adjust the tension on the bow. Again, traditionally a universal solution wherever bows are used for whatever purpose.
q😮😅😊😢🎉🎉😂
cool knot. thank you very much!
Agreed, very nice!
Nice thanks for your lern me a knot thanks
I cannot fathom why they would tie a knot that _is not reliable_ when there are so many that are.
Just use a small dutch bowline?
Learned thing or two tieing down sheet metal runs

One those things can be so simple yet if not knowing what tieing up the rope has no hold , aha
Of no use at all, who the fool going to use this and where?
Actually that is called a Hondo knot for use in a lariat.
