  • In this video Bram shows you the top 3 of what we think are the best gi's for beginners.
    When you just started BJJ, one of the first things you will probably need is a gi. In the current market there are so many different gi's available, it can be really hard to find what you need.
    We selected 3 gi's, from the lower price tier, which all come with a free white belt.
    Tatami Nova MK4
    The Nova gi's have been around for a long time. Tatami was the first brand that made a gi specificly targetting beginners. An affordable gi with a free white belt.
    Check all the specifications of this gi here:
    • Tatami Nova MK4 Gi Pre...
    Fuji Sports Saisho gi
    The Saisho gi has just hit the market, but truely belongs in this top 3. A lightweight version of Fuji's All Around gi, with a free white belt and the same fit and feel. Right now this gi is only available for the European market.
    Check all the specifications of this gi here:
    • Fuji Saisho Gi Preview...
    Kingz Basic 2.0
    Kingz is a popular brand, sponsoring some of the world's best like Leandro Lo. The Kingz Basic 2.0 feels like a copy of the old Nova gi's except, it has less options in sizes and colours. The packaging of this gi is the best of this top 3, and it also comes with a free white belt.

    The Kingz Basic is a great value. Lots of pros actually use it in major tournaments because of its light weight. Better then the other two brands. It actually uses a pearl weave unlike the basic frothy, crappy single weaves the others use that'll shrink two sizes down.

    Hello Gi Experts,
    Thank you for your videos and your tests and pieces of advice.
    I did enjoy your video about the top 3 gis for beginners.
    I have the luck to have been given 2 gis of a not well-kniwn brand from a BJJ practitioner who stops BJJ. The gis are the Sobrio and Elementar V2 from the brand Doguera.
    On my opinion, they are good gis for beginners and the prices are rather low (80 euros with a white belt for the Doguera Sobrio and 90 euros for the Doguera Elementar V2 with a white belt)

      Great choice, that is one of the reasons we have picked it as our #1!

    Thanks for the video. Just bought the Kingz Basic 2.0 based off your recommendation. It was the best option when it came to sizes and shipping times to Canada.

    I am searching for a beginner GI in size A6. Would the Fuji All Around be your choice for the American market, since the Saisho isn't available here?
    Would the Elemental be worth the 30% price increase over the All Around?
    Also, Gameness sells the Air Gi in size A6 for comparable price. Unsure of which option would be the best choice.
    Thanks for the video.

    You should really provide information on the pants. Ripstop or cotton?? Kind of important.

    It's not clear to me what the difference between beginner gi and non-beginner gi is. Can you please explain?

      a beginner can wear any gi they want, however beginner's will probably not want to spend a lot of money on gis so this video provided cheap options.

    What about storm gis? Are they of good quality?

    • @GiExperts
      @GiExperts  6 лет назад +1

      I only have experience with the older Storm models. They had great quality, but the fit wasn't right for me and they were quite expensive (especially compared to these 3 gi's, which are all below €80).

      Gi Experts yeah they are expensive. $169 for basic gi. Gracie barra clubs are particularl about what their students wear. We have to buy their stuff.

    interesting dont actually say much about them and they are all in the more expensive ranges too

    it will be smaller when washing? (Kingz Basic 2.0)

    • @GiExperts
      @GiExperts  4 года назад

      Yes, it will shrink after a couple of washes.

      In my experience, as long as you wash with cold water, don't use bleach, and air dry ( never put your gi in the dryer machine) it should be alright.
