5:00 This was actually very recent. I met him in-person at a restaurant in NYC that very day. He was by himself and was an absolute gentleman when my friends and I asked him for pictures. No matter how many pictures we asked him for, he happily obliged. He took individual pictures with every one of us, chatted with us for quite a while and then went to his table as soon as he was allotted one..in fact he was so happy meeting us, he walked up to our group after dinner and thanked us for being so nice to him, and wished us the best too

Ranveer is a director's actor. He is like water who can slip into any role. But being a director's actor means the director has to be good and the script has to have merit.
He does not have the capability to make mediocre content a box office success.

No matter how far we’ve come in the internet age, actors NEED to realise how theatre screens are where they primarily belong. A middle class family, exposed to innumerable celebrity appearances in their day-to-day lifestyle are compelled to let go off the hunger to see the same actor on the big screen. The reason a Shah Rukh, or a Ranbir still manage to pull audiences; they’re really not present anywhere else and it adds to their credibility. Something as simple as Ranbir Kapoor just showing up to grab awards and end his speech by saying, “See you at the movies!” So yes, just see us at the movies, please.
Actors in our country are high vanity, and making yourself too available causes a decline to the same. Ranveer needs to use that vanity, and in the right direction.

I feel it's just a phase. More successful films with more well written and solid characters are on the way

Nobody is a star these days. The audiences today are not swayed by these actors. No one’s gonna go crazy after an actor now. That era is over. Even if we like Ranveer, we are not going to rush to a theatre for every release of his, unless we find out if it is really worth investing your money and most importantly time to it. No movie is gonna run only by the name of the ‘HERO’ in it, when you’ve such brilliant content at your disposal on your phone screens. Times have changed, perception towards actors has changed and so should their approach to their own stardom! Undoubtedly there are numerous avenues for them to make loads and loads of money, but not every movie will make them a star.

The thing is stars these days are so accessible there is no genuine aura around them. It'd be nice to be a little mysterious. In movies you only see the good parts of an actor in the media interactions which is so much now we see almost all sides of actors they become normal rather than a star

And then there is a man who always says
"See you in the movies" that is Ranbir Kapoor.

Today's Ranveer reminds me of a king who has no clothes on...He has become poster for adverts rather the acting talent he is. He wants to make money as a performer both on and offscreen. There is too much of him in media and he is thinking...the more, the better. Someone has to tone him down before he gets tossed away like used aluminum foil. Pity! It would be a waste of immense talent.

I love how Ranveer Singh is considered an outsider when he comes from privilege. How exclusive does a system have to be to think like this?

He's a talented actor who wants to be seen like he's living the life of a rockstar musician. Dudes like an open book. His persona doesn't show humility.. I think that's why people don't see him as a STAR i suppose.. He's just a talented actor with an eccentric behaviour... Thats how i see him as..

I cannot imagine Ranveer in Don 3 😭😭. No hate to him as an actor, i think he is good. SRK had that classy look and i can not imagine anyone else in place of him just like Saif with the race series. SRK should continue with Don. Mass action as well as a better storyline than Pathaan

Jammy’s take is so beautifully presented that I would say he is the first one to put this topic on the platform in the context that people can calmly relate to.
Honestly speaking, most of the films he did really worked when he was supported by a good support cast and directors. SLB, Motwane, Zoya Akhtar are undoubtedly the directors who bring out an unexplored side of all actors they work with.
Ranveer being a talented actor did prove his craft with these actors but some of his roles got more attention initially due to the craft and later due to the expectations we built based on his previous works.
There was a lot that went around in that period of 2014 to 2019 in films that favoured him but he took up too much off screen time telling things on Round tables, film interviews and coffee shows that pushed us back as it became difficult to differentiate between the actor one the persona off screen.
Also he has changed entirely in his off screen persona too compared to his early days.
Can’t say much about what he can do as an actor and what not but in the mean time when he was busy making an offscreen persona, the stars who were absent in his growing times have come back regaining their audience base and making it bigger and there is a new craze for pan Indian movies and seeing artist from across various regions in Hindi cinema and the canvas of cinema has become even more competitive.
People have given up on awards, Reality shows. The time has changed.
OTT has already widened the horizons of content for the audience and in this environment to get the same space that he gained earlier would be the toughest thing to imagine.

Ranveer singh doesn't have to prove himself anymore. He is a actor who immerses into any character. He can play anything.
