    Dang, the windows really change the look of the whole shed! Love the light they bring in.

    Been looking for a video just like that. With no need to create a "rail" in the wood to fit the window to. Plain and simple. Many thanks for taking the time!

    I have three windows im looking yo replace on an old shed. Was planning on adding screens with a plexiglass frame thst slides or lifts to provide airflow. This will definitely give me a starting point!

    Great job! Does the plexiglass expand too much with heat or humidity creating cracks or other problems?

    Any idea how these plexiglass windows will fare with strong winds that usually come storms?

    • @buildsbymaz
      @buildsbymaz  5 месяцев назад

      We have had winds over 80mph here and they have held up just fine!

    If you wanted to make those windows double paned, how would you have done it?

    • @buildsbymaz
      @buildsbymaz  7 месяцев назад +1

      Hmm good question. Probably do everything the same so that you have the single pane window in place, and then glue some spacers around the border and attach the 2nd pane to the spacers. Then use a trim or caulk around the edges to fill the gap along the edge between the 2 panes. That way you have a sealed layer of air between the 2 sheets of plexiglass.

    I don't know why all windows are not made with plexiglass. nonbreakable, better sound deadening, better insulating than glass. it's what is used for airplane windows

      Get scratched.

    • @mazigazi
      @mazigazi 8 месяцев назад

      it's way more toxic thank glass maybe? you know, microplastics, etc

    • @atvraceryfz77
      @atvraceryfz77 8 месяцев назад +5

      Easier to scratch

    • @legobrickabrac
      @legobrickabrac 3 месяца назад

      Because they go yellow and less clear over time, they also easily scratch alot more then glass. Saying this however local uk councils now replace glass with plastic because vandalism target glass.

    • @legobrickabrac
      @legobrickabrac 3 месяца назад +1

      @@mazigazi Extra care is needed when cutting plastic its very difficult to not get plasic particles all over the place. I cut it on a plastic sheet trying to collect as much plastic dust as possible. Any plastic work is done away from where I glow food, but other gardeners plastic get everywhere that it is impossible to not have most woodland and home gardens contaminated with micro plastics.

      Yeah ever time I price plexiglass it's ridiculously expensive

  • @legobrickabrac

    Unlike actual glass that plastic glass can turn yellow as has happened to My stuff.

    Now teach me how to get rid of these god awful metal single pane windows that are inside and outside, meaning I gotta open two windows to get air in my home. It's a 1976, and they're in dire need of replacing.

    • @buildsbymaz
      @buildsbymaz  11 месяцев назад

      That sounds terrible! You may need a window specialist for that one...
