I think that with any "free money" phone calls your sims get should go into the community vault so you can build up the community garden with a treehouse in the courtyard. Love Tiny Town!

This could work if he paints all 8 houses from reference (small paintings?) and paints the community lot and places them all on a wall in a 3x3 grid and paints from reference of that? Not sure the level of detail he could get though?
I was screaming at the screen trying to tell James that Vivienne put the plate in the desk's cabinet. Then I felt pure joy and relief when the ghost found it and cleaned it up

You should give Vivienne a pink cat to help fill in the extra space in the house and bring more of the pink around the interior. Also, as a writer, having a cat just makes sense in my brain. 😊

And plants - if she’s writing she’s inside all the time so you need the extra oxygen and obviously book shelf’s. I’d love to see him make a book nook though may not work with the style of house.
Maybe for the gardener career, she could plant the money tree at the town center?
And then stash the money in the vault. Or let each sim harvest one tree, meaning he'd have to have 8 trees, tho I suggest that said harvestable Simoleons is only used should the bills not be paid and the skill used to earn Simoleons requires power, so if Vivienne's bills go way up, James can have her harvest a single Money Tree, pay the bills, and, as long as James notes down the amount Vivienne had prior to harvesting, he can take the total amount, subtract the money Vivienne had prior to the harvest and add the remaining harvested Simoleons in the vault

first, from we not wanting him to be in the order, then he kept appearing on the next episodes after, and then he has a lost episode- mans hasn't even BEEN in an episode by himself and already can't take a break

Make sure you keep checking the thermostat as the seasons change. By the time you get back to Vivian, it might be summer, and she'll be in danger of burning to death at home if you keep the heating on.
Yess and there’s a mod by LittleMsSam called Automatic Thermostat to prevent that. I’ve been using it in my game for a long time for my other families and it’s been great

Also just an idea: invest in a decoration box that will be in the shared space maybe? So that when the game decorates your houses out of nowhere anyone can take it down at any point ^^

I think it would be an interesting element if each one of them has a business attached to their home (even if it's just for show) because it will be EVEN MORE like a town with not just homes but businesses. For example, since Vivienne is a writer, she could have a bookshop attached to her house either on the side of it or her house could be above it. The style would need to match as well so pink industrial tiny bookshop. Same for the other careers we've seen so far: a cafe/bistro type thing attached to Reuben's home, maybe a dance club with dj booth could be attached to Sonny's house, an art gallery attached to Krystoff's, a spa attached to Camilo's, a stable and perhaps petting zoo with mini goats and sheep attached to Pablo's. This also helps James not get done with their houses TOO quickly lol.

When Vivianne stopped writing to go play darts it reminded me of when your sims in the growing together let's play would stop doing what they were doing to play basketball or go on the slide and then it eventually got struck by lightning. So maybe you should put the dart board outside to get struck by lightning 😂
I think that computer has a pink swatch, which could be good to use since there isn't much pink in that room, and it could also be nice to have columns to support the part of the house that's floating. Also, for book titles you could make them something that has to do with whatever the chosen comments say, for example "rebesim and the floating house" or something along those lines.
Maybe you could spin a wheel at the end of the episode to determine a percentage of their money that goes to the community space? Means you aren’t necessarily handing over all the money…. But you could be!! 😂The random chaos sounds like it is perfect for you! ❤

The "Ask if Mermaid" option should have a mermaid icon, the "Ask to Cloudgaze" option should have a cloud icon, whereas the "Ask to Stargaze" option should have a star icon. Little subtle things like that could make *_ginormous_* differences
0:35 With the safe, maybe the sims donate money over a specific amount ($1000?). Mostly for Pablo who is already at a disadvantage (with the horse competition entrance fees, and the fact he has both a horse at a child). That sim needs all the help he can get.
Edit: I forgot Camilo, he also really needs the money.
Or maybe half of what is left, not all... So Pablo and Camillo won't have such a hard time trying to reach 1k but also won't have $0 to start next gameplay time

you can write special types of books when your sims have a certain emotion for example energized sims can write workout guides and confident sims can write motivational books. these kind of books were always profitable for me

Poor James, you work so freakin' hard but just can't catch a break. I mean, I get upset about losing progress when I'm just Simming for myself, but you losing so many hours of literal work that you can't even show your audience... I genuinely cannot even fathom the level of frustration and despondence you have felt over such instances. The fact that you keep on going and give us such high-quality, lengthy and frequent content despite all that is incredibly respectable, and I know we all appreciate it immensely. Also, I truly hope that Bowser has been recovering well and that Frangipani has been adjusting well to her new home! Manifesting significantly less stress for you and Deli both! ❤❤❤❤
in theory, you could set a computer to require biometric confirmation (fingerprint, face id, etc) to open or alter, but the only requirement is for it to not match you. any fingerprint except yours can open it
I will say that I've noticed that the new trait, Practice Makes Perfect, seems to prevent or lessen skill-based burnout. I had it unlocked early as well and gave it to my Super Sim and she never gets burned out by practicing skills but still gets burned out from work which is much easier to handle.

My favorite thing about James is that without fail he always spends his money on the least essential items first when building a house. It’s always: “we need a stove” buys wallpaper, flooring, etc & then runs out of money “ok we still need to buy a stove” 😂😂
I'm kinda sad that your signature series rags to riches is on hold but all the new challenges and cool videos ideas you're bringing us is so refreshing! I absolutely love this series because it combines rags to riches, your build creativity and is less frustration from the oh boy how many bugs from the rental pack. Keep up the good work James!
He will probably do another season when a new expansion pack comes out. The rent one was just too glitchy.

Suggestion: Add a wheel with something the sim your playing with has to add to the community space. Everything from picnic tables and lawn chairs to that outside tv screen and a tree house

For the community space, in addition to the picnic table(s) you should have the baker display fridge from Get to Work so the food everyone makes won't go bad and you can just pick up servings (I'd assume it should be under cover so it won't break so maybe a community food pantry/ garden is a good idea?)
Semaj should make all his kids crystal jewelry to help them out. Like the one to prevent writers block.

I’m such a middle aged homeowner. The writing room just makes me go, oh man, that room is going to be so hot in summer. You could bake people alive.
I just remembered that Scarlet will be our Green stuff girl, so maybe it would be funny if she got the money tree in a secret room, so her siblings would have no idea what she's doing in her basement but it's something to do with plants and she is getting a lot of money from that👀

If you're having trouble getting Sims in the right mood, consider incense or tea, some of the options will evoke different moodlets. Thoughtful showers also help get in the writing mood (if only that worked IRL)

I don't know what it is, but this series is so cozy. Especially in the wintertime with the little houses and all the sims in the town milling about...love the vibes!
it could be cool to make the money put into the community vault work like taxes, so all sims pay a percentage of their money, which makes the sims who make a lot of money pay more, and those with less pay less
I can't wait for Pablo's turn again lol. The random aspect to this is fun. I think a garden plot and picnic tables under some kind of shelter would be good for the community area.

I'm new to commenting in this community, but I've been watching your content for about 4 years now! About the Pink Industrial theme, when I was in middle school, a local T-shirt brand here called their Pink and Brown Grunge collection "Pink Chocolate" and it's always stuck with me. Vivienne's house brings me back to that~
surprisingly I don't mind the stove and oven separate. i also love the pinks together in the kitchen! embrace it!

Locking your computer for only you: reverse face recognition. Program it like everyone's face will get you into the computer, except your own face.
Put parent control on, but it's just for yourself. Face recognition would absolutely be the way to ensure it's only you (and if you happen to have a doubleganger, maybe that person too)
Identical twin would be tricky as well.. hmm let me think
I guess you could do something like fingerprint AND facial recognition? It'd be pretty unlikely for both to be 100% interchangeable

You could put the vault in a room so you can lock the door with any sim you play instead of having the lock by xyz vault.

In the third episode with each character is when they should make their contribution to the community. Don't forget that part James!

do wheel spinning each episode to select who has to contribute money towards the fund for the community space, then another wheel spin to determine the amount of money. that way there will be funds for the community to be built and used by other Sims as the series progress
maybe you should put the decor box in the community area so you can turn it off from anyone perspective? it may also be the landlord is technically "putting them up" and that's why they keep appearing.
I think the book nook kit would be perfect for the living room, I'm pretty sure it has a cute pink couch but you can also surround the couch with bookshelves and have them as a library full of Vivian's written books
