Good video, I always like watching these types of videos showing off old hardware
The Ideal home for this is in media box or Windows XP machine. Good vid 👍
Excellent. Get in some popcap games, half life, cs 1.6 and gta sa/vice city while at it and its a time machine.
Latest mesa brought vulkan 1.3 support to GCN1/2 cards. Last time I tried my R9 280x on linux it ran just bad. I have to check now.
It was a massive pain trying to get mesa to work properly with this card, and then it was another fight to get vulkan to work. Arch wiki has a good guide to make it work though.
Definitely play ULTRAKILL as a benchmark, if you can somehow not get 60 FPS, that's a GPU that sucks.
During lockdown, I was given a R9 290 used it to play for like a couple months until I got a 2080ti
And I used a VGA monitor, that my parents use to use for a Vista PC from 2009 😭
Going from a R9 290 to a 2080ti must have been quite the experience
