      Lol😂you’re right on that. I learned more on the show called ancient aliens on the history channel then I did in my history classes back in high school. To me that just goes to show how awful the school system really is. If they made it less boring and more interesting then maybe students would actually get something out of it and would like the class more.

    I think what a lot of guys don't realize is the consistency of menstrual blood isn't smooth like blood from a cut. Because it's also made up of tissue, it's often thick and clotted-looking, almost like mucous.

    I have a girlfriend, and every time she is on her periods it just feels wrong for me to not be able to be next to her, or feel anything of her stress and pain. To have a stomach ache once a month is really painful for me, but to have cramps, stomach pain, and in her case a lot of pain in the limbs, I really wish I could be next to her and soothe her.. This video must be shown to girls as well as boys, so that people don’t grow up thinking this is “gross and causes irritability”, when in reality it isn’t something by choice and is a much harder time for her.

    Imagine having a video like this back when we were young girls. Such a great visualization of what happens to our bodies. I remember being so confused about it all even after watching the vhs tape in class. It made it feel like our periods were shameful and needed to be hidden. It’s un-ladylike to talk about, it’s unsanitary, etc. I’m so glad that future generations have access to information like this and in a time where we only continue to become more vocal about women’s healthcare.

      I’m so sorry that happened for you sad face you appear to be around the same age as me. May I ask what the circumstances were in which that you felt such incredible shame for a normal human bodily function? :-) I’m sincerely curious because I’ve never known of the world that have normalized women’s menstrual cycles. Either way I’m very very sorry that was your experience and I feel very disheartened to know that there are still young people out there who have this experience. The only people I know of who had this experience were my grandparents, and I’m so very sorry you had to experience that too. Sending much love and 🫂 hugs

      @@otakumangastudios3617 It's unfortunately very common for periods to be shamed. It happened to me growing up and I know a lot of other people who've had periods who have been taught that it's something to keep quiet about.

    • @otakumangastudios3617
      @otakumangastudios3617 2 года назад +1

      @@fart9653 i’m very sorry to hear that 😔i’m not sure if it’s exactly common, but maybe both of you happen to be in circles where that was common? Because at least in my upbringing, it was treated no differently than any other bodily function, like pooping or peeing. That itself was not considered weird or disgusting but yeah randomly bringing up in conversation would be considered kind of odd but you know talking to your parents about it when you’re new with it or any questions or like talking to other girls about it has been pretty common. I’m sorry that was not in fact you or this other person‘s experience, that’s very sad to me that you guys didn’t have that experience. I remember also going with my mother into the bathroom stall and I saw menstrual blood and I guess that’s when I was first taught? I remember being absolutely horrified and her explaining to me it was not actual blood which turns out it is but I guess she was trying to not freak me out and wanted to keep the description simple so she explained she was not bleeding and it was just part of the normal cycle of her shedding her egg and uterine lining. Even after knowing that it freaked me out because it looked like blood but I eventually got used to it lol. Again my heart reaches out to anyone who did not have this aspect of their childhood be so nurturing, I’ve definitely experienced shame about other things in my childhood, such as I was shamed a lot for basically having emotions. So, I can totally empathize with feeling like a certain normal natural part of you of any kind is invalid or in anyway unnatural even though it’s absolutely natural and normal. I get my heart reaches out to those of you who didn’t have as neutral of an experience regarding the menstrual cycle. I wish you guys much love and healing and hugs ♥

      @Jenna_Phillips1122 2 года назад +2

      @@otakumangastudios3617 I think there was just more stigma around what was considered “ladylike” when I was younger. It wasn’t a bad experience per-say. I just think the world is becoming a lot more open to topics that used to be avoided. It was mainly in school where I had the issues. If I suddenly got my period and needed to see the nurse for a tampon, it was a whole lecture and they only gave me one. If I bled through pants at school and needed my mom to bring me clothes, it was almost like a shameful situation where you’d have to sit in the office in your dirty clothes waiting. I for one had struggled with super heavy periods and it was definitely not normal. But if I needed to use the bathroom teachers made a point to say we can’t use our period as an excuse because “all women deal with it.” So I’d have to sit through an entire class without being able to go to the bathroom or talk to anyone including the nurse about what was going on. I’m just glad times are changing and there’s better education surrounding women’s health and anatomy.

      @@Jenna_Phillips1122 oh my gosh I’m so very sorry! Perhaps for reference, I didn’t go to public school, I was actually homeschooled my whole life, where there was extreme positivity about periods and such. I guess I just assumed that everybody else was raised the same way. I’m very sorry that was your experience 😔
      The school system is screwed up in so many ways and honestly it makes sense now with this information that they would do that. I’m sorry that the nurse will give you a lecture about that, and it’s honestly horrible that they didn’t let you take a break to get yourself physically comfortable. And more often than not feels like school teachers are more interested in having autonomy and power over you and making sure you get every inkling of information from class, because you can focus well in class if you have to pee, have to poo, is leaking menstrual blood everywhere, etc.?
      I once heard a story by the way, where there’s a girl who asked to be excused to go the bathroom, and she’s given permission by her male teacher, and for the sake of convenience, she started to open her tampon on the way to the bathroom. The teacher heard this, and then said “oh you don’t have to go hide in the bathroom to go have candy, you can share it with everyone else in the class while I teach! “ And she was so frustrated with this and felt so embarrassed that she just pulled out her tampon and shoved it in his face and I don’t remember exactly what she said in response but basically somethings snarky about what he said and yeah I don’t remember the full thing but it was a Reddit post I saw.

    I think this is a great vid for my daughters....but also for my son. Period talk is not taboo in our home. I don't want him growing up thinking it's gross, rather a natural thing. I tell him without it he wouldn't exist. I want him to be understanding of what we go through each month. It may be overwhelming for him dealing with our mood swings in a home with 3 females who happen to sync up....but at least he'll understand why his sister is snapping every 5 min lol. He thinks we should be allowed to skip work/school for a few days given what our bodies are going through. In the future when he marries or has a daughter, he'll be more attentive or understanding.....or at least I hope he is.

    As a man, I’ve encountered menstrual blood at times when having intercourse. A woman can’t always tell if her period has started or if it’s completely finished. I learned it’s no big deal. It might be messy, but it’s not at all disgusting or dirty. All it takes is a little washing up. An extra towel or two can protect the sheets if you are unsure. I found in some ways, it can be an even more intimate experience with a woman, sharing something so personal. It’s just a normal function of the female body.

This supports Corpous luteum which continues to secrete progesterone, some estrogen ...

      I’m a woman and I personally think it’s sad that i will have to deal with this for 40 years of my life every month. Not to mention the effects of menopause, child birth, etc. I don’t even have a regular cycle so my period literally did not stop for 3 whole months not long ago, until i went to the gynaecologist and was prescribed birth control to regulate my period again. I stopped the birth control as it was perhaps causing migraines with aura symptoms, which are visual disturbances. It may also cause blood clots in the brain. I have no choice but to keep using birth control despite my family doctor advising against it, mainly because I have iron deficiency too. Basically, if I don’t do anything, i will lose too much blood and iron, but if i do something about it, i may give myself migraines and/or blood clots. I would say it’s a curse, but again, this is only from my personal experience.

    Had a hysterectomy years ago…and I am so glad I don’t have to deal with monthly bleeding anymore. I had irregular periods, sometimes they would happen and other times it wouldn’t happen for several years.
    Then one year I finally had my period and I wouldn’t stop bleeding. I started to become anemic…So my uterus had to be removed. All is well, no more periods.🙂
    To this day I still don’t know why i wouldn’t stop bleeding and why I didn’t have my period for several years. 🤔🤷🏻‍♀️
