Just saw the Instagram photos! Awesome! Yours seems to be one of the better builds on RUclips…. I’m about to Fiberglass mine soon…. I just weighed mine and is 136lbs and hopefully under 150 by the time I’m done. I will build a solo one like yours after!
Love it! Been wanting to build one of these since I built my foam kayak. Might actually get around to it this year. Yours is looking killer already, even in the first video. Nice job!
Real nice boat and I see you have some beach wheels for it on the shelf already. Makes me want to build another one, I am currently on my 3rd foam boat build now and can't wait to finish
Cheers mate this is my first im really enjoying my it! the beach wheels are for my hobie they will also work on the skiff but I've made the skiff to fit the standard hobie wheels at the back so I can wheel it around easy
Thanks mate Yea alot of people will tell you, you can't build a boat like that but it definitely can be done it hasn't got any flex at all there is a single stringer up the middle but I think you could build it without a stringer you would just have to be careful moving it around b4 you fiberglass cause the foam could snap in half
I just used a normal sander that they use for wood but someone has suggested in one of the comments a power planer would be alot better for removing the bulk then a normal sander to finish it off
Na i haven't i just made the design up myself taking ideas from the similar skiffs available but I just drew a rough sketch to start with im going to try and draw the plans properly but i want to finish the skiff first
Wow Love You Project, Im Planning Of Making My Skiff, Paddleboard, Kayak, To Use Gas Electric Motor, Footpedal, Paddle And Sail, But Thats Just A Plan On My Brain Not Yet Developed,
@@thefishinglair2467 this is an awesome idea I was looking at building one but out of plywood covered in fiberglass similar to the salt boat works frs14 or 15
@@forestjump3r516 I really didnt want the weight from plywood I plan on putting it on my roof racks to transport it so weight is important! as it is not it weighs less then my hobie adventure island
3.8m long, the deck is 1m wide at the front tapering to 910mm at the back and about 800-850mm on the underneath side and 290mm high I will eventually draw up plans and post them up but I'm I'm while off that

dude that is so cool, I didn't even think a boat could be build like this! Does it flex? I would think it would at least need some stringers.
