    Peter Jackson tries to get what he calls the 'hero shot' for major characters. Something you can make a poster out of, or to include in the trailer. I hold that your photographs are like hero shots. Man, they're good.

    Thanks for the advice. I really liked the paint scheme up until the agrax earthshade when it all went dirty monochrome. I'm going to try and paint my tiles bright and fluorescent like in the higher levels of the city, with an opal sheen. Experimental.

    This was incredible helpful in seeing how you are able to create a cohesive, lived in look in your terrain builds. Thank you for showing off your process and for talking through the decisions informing your paint plan - it has definitely inspired me to rethink the way I am going about painting my own terrain!

    Your stuff is Awesome and you are a very talented man. But I would like to see you make some more things more form scratch. The main reason for this is that videos like this is very helpful for people getting in to the hobby. But the sets you are playing around whit is very expensive for people. Im not trying to criticize what you are doing whits is very good. More giving you a changeling that can inspire people even more than you already do. I see that you are have a lot of good ideas of how to fill in the tiles other than just using the wall i would like to see more of that. Becase that helps people get more out of their sets. :D

    • @MrLeonarddime
      @MrLeonarddime  3 года назад

      Thanks for the very good input. I really appreciate comments like this with constructive advice that is solid and have reason.
      To answer your request, I am actually planning a new project for Necromunda during spring. A 4 tile project with normal wall height and using saving methods to get the most out of the GW kits.
      When I started my project I had no idea that people would take such interest in it. But, since it is my own, I wanted to invest into it.
      But with a youtube channel I need to think about the general public and new players to the hobby.

    Awesome looking terrain! I really like the texture paint tip and the dry paint to tie all the scenery together. What do you think of diluting the contrast paints and putting them through the air brush to avoid brush strokes?

  • @merzbeaux

    How do you usually do the final assembly of parts that have been painted separately- scraped down to the plastic and welded together with plastic glue, or with superglue?

    • @MrLeonarddime
      @MrLeonarddime  3 года назад

      With a lot of plastic glue.
      Acrylic paint is essentially plastic. So it melts under plastic glue. It just takes a bit longer and a bit more glue to do it.
      But as you said. Scraping off some paint is the best way to do it.

    You build the absolute best necromunda boards.how many dark uprising boxes do you recommend buying to build a decent size board setup?

    • @MrLeonarddime
      @MrLeonarddime  3 года назад

      That all depends mate. Many factors play a role in this.
      I think with good planning you can get away with four tiles. And depending on how high you want the walls, it could vary between 2-6 Dark Uprising boxes plus some few sector mechanicus.
      I’ll be doing a 4 tiles project from scratch this spring. Recording each step and making a normal setup, meaning only one level of walls and only two where it is needed for a theme.

    Did you already try inks as cheaper contrast alternative?

    • @MrLeonarddime
      @MrLeonarddime  3 года назад

      Not yet, But I do think the contrast are so strong in pigment, thus diluting it with a medium it will last a very long time.

    Have you tried doing the Leviadon blue mix step with an airbrush instead of a brush? If so what was the result like?

    • @MrLeonarddime
      @MrLeonarddime  2 года назад +1

      No, not yet. But I imagine the result would be fairly similar if done correctly. Less pooling and of course less brush strokes visible.
      I'll see if I get around to try it out. Thanks for the heads up

    • @dekai7992
      @dekai7992 Год назад +1

      The thing to keep in mind if doing it that way is that you don't get the pooling/shading effect and more of a flat colour filter. If that's what you want, cool, if not, doing it by brush is the way to go.

  • @bartekkucharski3880

    Looking great but I dont get one thing. Why people overpaint texture paints. it makes no sense. Texture are designed to simulate certain effect like mud or desert. Mud texture paint will be glossy after drying and desert will be matt. If you paint over you destroy the whole thing.

    • @MrLeonarddime
      @MrLeonarddime  3 года назад

      Totally understand your point of view but this isn’t a diorama. I need the colors to match my terrain and the effect I want.
      As explained. I use the texture paint as a protection from overspray when I am speed painting my terrain. So it doesn’t matter if I had a Matt brown texture paint. It would still need to be painted due to my careless handling :)
