    My first video as Rapid Tabletop, and this first video is a very quick tutorial of how I work. More detailed ones will come in the future if there is interest for future videos.
    I you like my content, please consider becoming a patreon. As a patreon you will help me grow, and of course decided what videos I'll do next.
    *Note, this is my first time infront of the camera. I am mostly behind it. So I am very uncomfortable this time around. But I'll hopefully grow into it.

    Love that you got the RUclips channel going. You are the only person I follow on Patreon, and it’s worth every penny.
    For the next painting video you do, I would like to get a small pop-up in the corner with the name and brand of the colours you’re using. I know that might be hard to do, but it makes it easier for copycats like me 😋

    Great "first" video - everything was clear and concise; I thought you spoke well; you didn't seem nervous or searching for what you wanted to say; and it was nice to see your process for putting these tiles together. As you said, a more in-depth tutorial would be nice and it'd be great to see what paints you're using. I know the paints being used are usually listed in the PDF tutorials from Patreon, but maybe throw them up on screen as you use them (see Duncan Rhodes' videos for a good example). Looking forward to the next video!
    I finally got 3 out of my 5 boxes of tiles to start playing around with some of your techniques and ideas over the Christmas break. Looking forward to it. I'm still torn whether I want to go with a dark rusty/brown theme (see Miniature Gaming Montage's channel for an example) or a lighter scheme like yours. The lighter scheme is nice because it allows for a wider range of contrasts and variations in colours, things like rust, dirt/grit, etc show up more clearly. But I still wonder if it is too "bright" for what I'm looking for. I want a consistent theme though, so need to make a decision lol.

    • @MrLeonarddime
      @MrLeonarddime  3 года назад +1

      Many thanks for the good comments mate. I acctually did leave out a lot of the colors used and things like that for future videos. But in hindsight I could have just added it here as well. I am looking into some more editing in future videos when its more focused on on section of the pice. So for example painting, I will cut to an image with the paints used, then back to the video.
      I
      ll take a look at Duncans videos as well, and see what I can pick up.

    I've been following your stuff on Instagram for a while now. Really impressive... especially your composition. I do have a question about your airbrush settings: Orifice size? PSI/Bar? Thanks, and keep up the great work! Can't wait for your next video.

    • @MrLeonarddime
      @MrLeonarddime  3 года назад +1

      Thanks for following mate. I am using 0.2mm for bascoating, but I think that orifice is damaged, so it is probably closer to 0.3 or 0.4mm. For detailing after base coating I use 0.15mm needle. The PSI is hard to say. Because I have found that my two airbrushes connected to the same compressor seem to give out different pressure. But, for my H&S (detail) I set the PSI to 1.8-2.2 PSI. Depending on how close I need to get to the object I am painting.

    I really like the result, especialy because many people think they need all kinds of special stuff to get to a good looking miniature/ piece of terrain in the end!
    Speaking of fancy stuff, did you consider using oil washes for the weathering? because thats something I really liked when I started using it, because it gives even better result without needing more work at all! Allthough I admit, using more or less only GW products makes your aproach quite relatable for a lot of people, especialy newer ones in the hobby!
    Btw I really like your Van Saar Gang,! Any Chance for close ups of the models anywhere?

    Great workshop, I knew the Mekworkshop would have a use one day. Just out of interest, why do you paint the panels brown before you paint them off white? You apply an opaque coat but maybe the video doesn't catch the brown underneath?

    • @MrLeonarddime
      @MrLeonarddime  3 года назад +1

      Yea, it is as you say, its not showing through the video the slight transparency. Also, I paint if brown first so the edges or the corners have a brown shade. I don't paint white all the way out. Not sure if shows in the video.

    Which contrasts did you use for the metallics??

    • @MrLeonarddime
      @MrLeonarddime  3 года назад

      For the bronz effect I use Gore-grunta Fur. For gold I can use a larger range depending on the hue I want. Aggaros Dunes is one of my favorite ones, but scelton horde and Snakebite leather are really great as well.
      For darker metals, I use Basilicanum Grey and diliute it with some medium for desired effect.
