    Hi team! 💜 hopefully the video was helpful for shedding some light on the Calendex 😄 just to make the process for using it a bit clearer, I wanted to put down a written example too:
    1. You’re invited to, or have an event/appointment scheduled for October 3rd
    2. You add a note of the event to your current daily log (e.g. your August 13 daily log) like a regular daily log entry (probably with an “event” bullet, or a full dot-grid box outline so it stands out)
    3. You turn to the calendex and add a box to the space for October 3rd
    4. You write the page number for the daily log from step 2 inside that box on the calendex
    Colour coding and other symbols are optional, but I like to use them for things like seeing where/how my time is spent in general, and for repeated events (e.g. Bujo Wednesday)
    Hope that helps!

    Interesting concept. I like the at a glance concept, but not sure I would have notes about events throughout my book. I will have to ponder this.

      @JashiiCorrin  Год назад +2

      Yeah it’s one of those takes-a-bit-of-getting-used-to concepts as you have to add event notes/titles to your daily logs rather than your future log 😝

      @@JashiiCorrin how do you differentiate between an event happening on that day and an event that is linked to your calendex?

      @@katherineh9814 An event that's happening on a future date would be paired with a specific date. E.g. if I were writing something for mid-November in my Oct 2nd daily log, I'd put in the event bullet followed by "15.11 - Event title"

    This makes so much sense to me for work notes. I do try to transfer them to onenote if not done there first but this would be a great back up for me for referencing back. Thanks Jess!

    I stopped adding in all these notes in my bullet journal because they do get lost even with an index, and some of my work revolves around seasons so I have to go back and find some random note. I am going to play around with this concept. I think this could be a solution! Yay! Thanks.

    Think this would work well for people who have lots of events with a bunch of notes to keep in mind for those events. Like if you are a speaker who travels to lots of different organizations - taking note of who you are speaking to, points to hit, topic, time etc. If you don't have many events that have a lot of info it might be busy work. Good idea for people who need it! ❤

    I'm toying with this idea as the traditional FL is not working for me and is getting cluttered. I don't like that I can't see the month at a glance and that I may have double booked myself or I can't see quickly if I'm free in advance or not. My only issue is the use of colour. I know I wouldn't stick with that as I don't have time. Maybe using symbols is better for me...? This was really clearly explained. Thank you.

  • @mindy656
    @mindy656 Год назад +1

    Interesting idea. Wouldn't work for me like this because my future log birthday list alone would be longer than the panel for future events.
    I do symbols in my monthly calendar already but i can see this being useful if i want to see where i spend my time for the whole year instead of just a month. Never hurts to see what other ideas are out there. Thanks for the explanation!
    Edits: Argh grammar hard.😔

      @Beth-zs2jr Год назад

      Maybe this with a dedicated birthdays/anniversaries page would work better, so that a particular symbol or colour dot like Jess does for bins or school things could be a symbol for a birthday or anniversary happening, and you know that the next page has all the details of whose birthday/anniversary that day is

    • @JashiiCorrin
      @JashiiCorrin  Год назад

      Previously when I've had a long list of events to bring over at the start of a journal that I was using a Calendex in, I made a separate page for those already scheduled ones rather than just a side panel (like Beth suggested 💪)
      I like to keep my birthdays list in my long-term collections journal 'cause I really only put the "most important" ones on my future log 😝 but then again, my list of most important birthdays isn't a super long one, haha 💜

    • @JashiiCorrin
      @JashiiCorrin  Год назад +1

      You could do, and I have previously. Mainly just so I get that multiple-months-long overview come the end of the journal 💪 Really depends on whether you're wanting to use the Calendex strictly for future planning or if you want it to be a more complete record 😄

      like i understand why it makes sense for repeating events, but for a future log, let’s say i want to organise to see a friend in a six weeks, i can put a square on the date i plan to see them but i can’t put a page number in because i don’t know what page it will be, and i probably don’t have a specific colour to signify that the square is to see them

    • @JashiiCorrin
      @JashiiCorrin  6 месяцев назад +1

      The page number is to the page that you've recorded the details. So e.g. if in today's daily log you write down the details of an event 6 weeks from now, the page number you add to the Calendex is the page number for today's daily log 😊

    I don't understand this at all. Is it instead of a future log or as well as? How would you know what you're doing on certain days in advance? It's pretty but...

    • @JashiiCorrin
      @JashiiCorrin  Год назад +1

      Instead of a future log 😊 as I kinda showed, rather than writing in the event title, you write down a page reference for where you logged the event details. E.g. in my daily log for today (Aug 13) I could write down an entry about the event I have happening on October 3rd. Then, rather than writing an event title in the calendex, I write the page number for today’s daily log (the Aug 13 one) in the calendex. That tells me which page number to go to for more details about the event
