    I love watching your videos. You're fun to watch and a good teacher. It helps that you're also "animated". Who likes watching someone dull and monotone that sounds like that teacher from Ferris Bueller's Day Off? (Hopefully you know who I'm talking about.)

    Thanks! I needed a refresher, been crocheting for 45 plus years and have made a fair number of hats but drew a complete blank when I tried to start one after about 3-4 years of obsessively crocheting cardigans for a few years. This was a very nice, clear, conscise video. Sandy is a great instructor. I wish I could hire her to help me masks a top down crochet cardigan!!Sorry this is sooo long, just one more thing. I have been dying for a chevron cardigan pattern that’s doesn’t look like it came from Grannie’s attic. I would love a cozy, snuggly sweater, but a modern, sleek one would be cool too. I’ll leave that up to you. I’ve asked several RUclipsrs about designing a cardigan such as this, but it’s been at least 2 years and no one has created my dream chevron cardigan😥. Thanks again Sandy.

    Very well presented, thank you. How can I crotchet a hat that allows me to have holes at the ear positions so my headphones are in contact with my ears? I have seen people adding pockets, but I would prefer something more streamlined and not flapping around. Once again, thanks for the great videos.

      Glad you enjoyed it. We don't have a pattern like that, but you can always search the Ravelry database for a hat with that feature. It's likely that someone has already designed something similar.

      @@ExpressionFiberArts Thank you for responding so swiftly. Yes, I have looked at that database. I also found that you can just reverse the bag tote bag design and start the pattern like a hat. As a man who wants to be more self sufficient, I would highly recommend your playslists. I'll be going through them over the next year. Many thanks, EFA. 😊

    Hi there! I will be attempting to make a beanie as a Christmas gift for the boyfriend ( wanted to start early so more time for mistake making x] ) and I had a few questions!. I understand the 2 dc then 1-1, and then the following row will be 2 dc then 1-1-1, then 2 dc then 1-1-1-1, so on and so forth until you reach the measurements. You said that once you reach the right measurement you stop increasing the 1. After that, we only do 1 dc in each knot or stitch or two legs until however long we want the hat to be? and doing the one 1 dc in each will just help with lengthen the hat, correct? and when we finish each round, even the end of the first round when you do the 10 dc and join it into the first dc, is it easy to distinguish which stitch to use to make a slipknot in? I fear it may be a little difficult to identify where to make a slipknot at, and I could possibly ruin something good I may have going on lol. Apologies for such a long comment! But I do appreciate and thank you for your time to respond if you ever stumble upon this!

    • @beesandyarn
      @beesandyarn 7 лет назад +1

      Jasmine Glover at the beginning of each row you could tie a bit of yarn onto the first stitch made. This should help it be easier to distinguish at the end of the round. Hope that helps!

    • @ExpressionFiberArts

      It is pretty typical to have a visual seam when you are doing this type of project. Over time, you develop better technique so that you can hide it a little better. Keep practicing and you will get there! 😍❤️

    Awesome video, thanks for making this! I did have one question - I was practicing with some yarn I had on hand and I noticed that when I did the first slip stitch, a bit of yarn made a kind of bump off to the side rather than squish into the circle. I'm assuming that is because my chain stitches were too big? Or is that normal?

    @ExpressionFiberArts I have a size H hook, would that work to make this hat or does it specifically have to be a size G hook? This looks like a really easy hat to make crocheted. Thank you so much Chandi, you're amazing!!!!

      When you count your stitches each row, are they increasing? You should be getting the stitch counts each row as shown on the pattern card you received. ❤️

    I tried ch4 n 10dc in the 4th chain from hook. However the hole never got bigger like yours. Why? Hmm could you ch4 and do 10dc in the ring as well?

    • @ExpressionFiberArts

      Perhaps your slip stitch was just tighter than mine. :) But yes, working into the ring would be perfect as well.

      @@ExpressionFiberArts I'm still getting the hang of my tensions when it comes to making beanies. Trial and error I guess lol I think you were the first real beanie video I watched when I first was learning how to make hats. I loved your personality

    New to circle crochet start. so I'm asking how do you determine how many rows from a infant to a adult sizes is there a chart somewhere I can download or is it just a matter of rolls

      If you look online, you should be able to find some charts. We don't currently have that information. Great question!
