I think you need to try smaller ones honestly and maybe the way you're putting the hair on the rods too. You put them in like regular foam rollers and maybe you should try wrapping them around the rods not roll it up. And use some more product.
Lol the pumps, that’s me each time I do my hair I start off with the “less is more…for real this time” and end up with the “…more is more actually” mindset.
I think you used the wrong product. Your hair was blow-dried and you used a moose so it will start to revert. Probably would have been better if it was wet and you sat under a hooded hairdryer. Still looked ok though.
Sis your hair looks beautiful to me! I love it, and I've always been a fan of the no fuss look with lots of volume. I can't wait for my hair to get that long 😍❤️👑💎
I have to say sis, even tho it’s a disappointment to you, you still look stunning with it the way that it is!! Even tho it’s not great to you, you still look fabulous in it!!😍😍😍 #obsessed!
Soooo, I clicked over to the other youtubers channel and she either has fine hair or not as much hair as you. You definitely should try using more rods/sections.
Amber, I think that your hair looked Cute 😊👍. I know that You May Feel A Little Disappointed, But I Really Do Like The Way That Your Hair Turned Out 😉👍♥️ THANK YOU FOR SHARING 😊👍♥️🙌🏼🙏
I think smaller sections and mist ur hair with water don't make it damp but still kinda dry uk. And the sleeping i like to not role it to to tight it still works out so bomb
Sleeping in curlers is a no, so I have never tried it. I would just do bantu knots. Our hair is different though. My hair is 4a, fine strands, medium density
I saw curl daze video when she did jumbo flexi rods in her hair, and one thing I noticed between your hair and her hair is your hair is twice as thick and longer than her hair so maybe you should flat iron your hair and see if that will work for you before you use the rods just a suggestion
It seems that the curls from the smallest bunches of hair turned out curlier than those with larger clumps of hair. Maybe doing it the the morning would be better, because lack of sleep really affects the condition of your hair. Also, maybe a downward rather than horizontal twist would fix the results?
So, went to watch the other video, and I think the results are different because 1. The volume of her hair is like ½ of yours 2. Her hair wasn't fully dry as you also pointed out 3. I think the flexi rod she used were smaller 4. And then the products used might have a lot to do with it
So even though you used very large rods, you have very dense hair so you need more rods. And more product would have helped as well. Curldaze has finer and less dense hair than you, so she could get away with fewer rods. I honestly think the end results are glorious 😍 but I understand how it may be overwhelming in the heat.
I don't know if flexing rods are for your hair. Maybe straighten it with an iron first and then separate into more sections. And then wrap the hair around the rod instead of rolling it.
I personally never liked the way my hair comes out when I have tried flexi rods. They are uncomfortable to wear. If you have long thick hair it takes days to dry when you start out with wet hair. If you start with blown out hair you have to experiment with products to get the right combo for your hair. Too much fuss and stress for me.
You have high density hair so you need smaller sections. Also, use a hooded dryer and make sure it’s completely dry and Amber I promise it will be amazing. I have a client with very similar hair to yours boo
Hey girl! First of all, i love your videos!! I think what will really helo you achieve your hair goal with the jumbo flexy rods! Try smaller sections! I know you said you cant sleep with them in very well but the smaller sections will help your hair dry faster and the curls will be smaller and more defined. 🥰🥰
I was hoping for bombshell waves buy i still think it wasn’t a TOTAL fail. Only tip is to have more flexi rods and smaller sections - and even though it might hurt, try tighten the rods as much as you can so that the tension helps stretch the hair as much as possible? Lol not sure if that makes sense but yeh
What you could have done was sit under the dryer half an hour before you went to bed or after you got up. Your hair is long and thick so you need more time for drying so it will smooth/close down your hair cuticles (surface of your hair) and you wouldn't have the puffiness. Maybe you should try the flexi rods once more after you blow dryer first, real straight, then use a serum and rod.
If you let your hair air dry, how long does it take? My hair is the exact opposite of yours, but I have a lot. My hair will still be damp 10 hours later.
Because I cannot seem to find this type of rod, I usually twirl my damp fine, type 3b hair around a long very thin metal rod for about 10 seconds, and the results are fantastic. But most people don't realize that if you want to curl damp hair, an unplugged curling iron works wonders. Nobody ever tries this!
I know it looks different than what you expected, but the result looks awesome... You kinda look like a mermaid, it's gorgeous. I have no idea if you could have acomplishied those same results in an easier way, but still looks great imo
Girl I love your personality you cracked me up 😂 lol. You still lookin’ cute and fly! Heyyy 💁🏽♀️I just got some flexi rods at the dollar store and I’m gonna try them out but hell no I’m not gonna sleep in them lol 😂 my plan is to put them in in damp washed hair and blow dry to set and see how they turn out!
Girl, Look your hair density is thick, you may need 14/28 flexi rods to achieve the same results. My hair appears thick but my density is thin I had to use 10 rollers
You have such a beautiful hair. I had thick long hair I got keratin treatment for manageability now my hair is falling like crazy. What do you think I should do to it to stop the hair fall?
My hair is definitely not as thick as yours but it takes at least a day and a 1/2 to 2 days for my hair to air dry if it’s rolled up. 7 hours and my hair would definitely still be wet. 😬
Can I give you HUGE tip? Straighten your hair and roll into the rods when it is still hot. Leave them in for half an hour to cool and set. Then take them down and you might get a smooth result. Please try it, it used to work wonders for my fluffy hair that loves to frizz.
Just curious...are you sick of dealing with your hair? I don’t have nearly the thickness or length of yours and I am at my wits end! Holding on by a thread- a very weak one at that. But your hair is gorgeous!
The curls are cute! Maybe sit under the dryer for thirty or sixty minutes to make it hold. Try one more time. Three strikes remember, LOL 🤣🤣 I have never done a flexirod set on my natural hair. Hmmm interesting, I just thought about that. But shout-out to Pablo in the background! 💐🌹
I think it didn't turn out the way you expected because you did it on dry hair and you probably need more than 7 sections. It's still beautiful though.😍
1. You should definitely use 2-5 more of those rods so that you have less hair in each one. 2. I was today years old when I realized Americans don’t pronounce “iron” the way it’s spelled
I think you're right; I believe it's specifically just us in the USA. While employed as a chemist, my Canadian supervisor and Argentinian coworker would often jokingly tease me about my pronunciation of Iron. U.S.: eye-yearn Everyone else in the world: eye-ron
Call it Glam Curls and embrace the frizz. Jk. I always expect my hair to be one way and it doesn't ever do it and I just say screw it, and just learn to love the frizz. Love big hair, just not in the summer. Lol
I just watched her video, she has lighter/thinner hair than you do. You have to do yours in smaller sections and she did mention going under the dryer (which gives better results). So I think the next time you do try it (pretty sure not anytime soon 😏) LOL just use a bit more products, smaller sections (probably 10) sit under the dryer, then sleep in them 😩 😄 Good luck🤞
Your reveal reminded me of Ariel 😍♥️ and maybe press the hair first so it’s not so big if you don’t like the valume/heat it adds from the weather being so hot 🥵
Ok sooooo i watched the other lady’s video too & i think 1 her rods were smaller & 2 most importantly her hair is A LOT thinner & finer than yours soo you probably need more sections than she has
Any flexi rod tips? Leave them under this comment so we can all learn from each other 🥰
Girl! Your sections are too thick..try smaller ones and smaller rods too.....will take longer but might give better results ❤
I think maybe smaller sections can work better just like what Jacky Wairegi said. Love the vid sis!
Check Naptural85 how to cheat a flexi road. She also have thick hair
Moose set with heat. Sit under the dryer next time.
I’m here for the comments 😩I have only had one good turnout and it was the first time I tried and now it’s just 👎🏽
“Ok let me do another pump” *20 pumps later* “Ok let me do another pump” 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I died every time 💀💀💀
Hi Amber, less hair on rods, make sure your ends are wrapped well on the rod and more product!❤😍
This comment needs to be pinned!
I think you need to try smaller ones honestly and maybe the way you're putting the hair on the rods too. You put them in like regular foam rollers and maybe you should try wrapping them around the rods not roll it up. And use some more product.
I was gonna say”smaller rollers” too
I’m glad you said this because having never used them before I would have done it the same way 😂
@@blackeneddove whenever I see someone do the rods they don't roll the hair up in them, they always wrap it around.
Amber's hair looks fantastic like that! Just beautiful!
Girl you have hair to die for 😊
Sis your hair looks beautiful to me!
It’s really beautiful, you have the best hair. I love seeing you handle all that hair. So happy to follow you!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Yes girl that preview girl, bomb! Get it sis!!!
🤣 I was giggling during the whole "unraveled and pause" routine.
I never had a good outcome with flexi rods however yours looks beautiful 😍.
Soooo, I clicked over to the other youtubers channel and she either has fine hair or not as much hair as you. You definitely should try using more rods/sections.
I love the way you say “jumbo” with a long “u” sound. Think um for jumbo.
glad i can finally watch your videos again. Missed your videos. Love you
Wow, Your hair is a lot🙆♀️. I think smaller sizes with more mouse will help.
I actually like it. Just imagine how it will look when u master the flexi rod technique.
Amber, I think that your hair looked Cute 😊👍. I know that You May Feel A Little Disappointed, But I Really Do Like The Way That Your Hair Turned Out 😉👍♥️ THANK YOU FOR SHARING 😊👍♥️🙌🏼🙏
Curldaze used a dryer to set her hair before keeping the rollers in overnight, if you try again then add a silicone heat protectant and use a dryer
I think smaller sections and mist ur hair with water don't make it damp but still kinda dry uk. And the sleeping i like to not role it to to tight it still works out so bomb
7:39 I laughed at her reaction 😂😂😂
It looks really nice to me. You have beautiful thick hair 🥰
Sleeping in curlers is a no, so I have never tried it. I would just do bantu knots. Our hair is different though. My hair is 4a, fine strands, medium density

Looks gorgeous! Wish my hair was easier to deal with
I will never get over the way you say jumbo❤
Smaller sections and you'll get it! 💜
So, went to watch the other video, and I think the results are different because
1. The volume of her hair is like ½ of yours
2. Her hair wasn't fully dry as you also pointed out
3. I think the flexi rod she used were smaller
4. And then the products used might have a lot to do with it
Your hair is beautiful! I think if your hair was flat ironed and THEN do the flexi it would be more defined! You have so much hair! It's beautiful!
I don't understand, that was BOMB 😍😍😍😍😍😇OMG WAAAAY better than the other girls, maybe I'm just in love with huge hair 😍
I just love your videos so much & I love that you’ve been posting a lot 😍 can’t wait for your hair care line too 💕
Cute! I’ve never seen hair like yours 😍
The Hair is giving me very much SZA and i'm loving it 💅🏽💅🏽
SZA hair ain’t real
So even though you used very large rods, you have very dense hair so you need more rods. And more product would have helped as well. Curldaze has finer and less dense hair than you, so she could get away with fewer rods. I honestly think the end results are glorious 😍 but I understand how it may be overwhelming in the heat.
Your hair is Amazing - I'm so jealous . Definitely #hairgoals for sure.
I don't know if flexing rods are for your hair. Maybe straighten it with an iron first and then separate into more sections. And then wrap the hair around the rod instead of rolling it.

I still can’t get the hang of flexi rods/ perm rod. I want to have a take down that is successful as well 😭
Me too!! My roller sets never come out right no matter what I use🤷🏽♀️
You have high density hair so you need smaller sections. Also, use a hooded dryer and make sure it’s completely dry and Amber I promise it will be amazing. I have a client with very similar hair to yours boo

Flat iron first for a more sleek style then rod for sustainable curls
I think you need more product on your hair to make it a little more damp. But it can work for now 😎 but you know how to look bomb with any style😍🤗
I already knew before I got to the end sis. Our hair to thick for that 😂 try smaller sections next time and a little leave 🥰
Maybe do it on smaller sections with the product it would give you a better result
I think smaller sections , more mousse and try to take youre time to smooth the hair to the ends and sit under a hooded dryer.Try again👍🏽
What you could have done was sit under the dryer half an hour before you went to bed or after you got up. Looks to me a dryer would help with styles that need to dry to get good results
If you let your hair air dry, how long does it take? My hair is the exact opposite of yours, but I have a lot. My hair will still be damp 10 hours later.
It takes 2 days to air dry 😭😭😭
You have to use smaller rods and sections and with your hair type it is a must that you sit under the dryer for at least 2 hours..
Loll you are so real and relatable with your hair 🤣♥️
More sections! Your hair is long and thick. 7 rods isn’t gonna work for you. Still cute though!

Love your videos, Amber!❤❤❤
I'm excited to see the outcome. I've watched the first attempt.
Your hair is long and dense and thick geez 😍
Yes, use more product and more sections
They make it look so easy 😭😭😭
I know it looks different than what you expected, but the result looks awesome... You kinda look like a mermaid, it's gorgeous. I have no idea if you could have acomplishied those same results in an easier way, but still looks great imo
You just need a big beautiful flower in your hair to style it 😍
Princess Leah vibes at the beginning ♥️
Oh wow i was just trying to find that other jumbo rod video and stumbled across your video
You're gorrgggeeeooouuuusssss🥺❤
Girl I love your personality you cracked me up 😂 lol. You still lookin’ cute and fly! Heyyy 💁🏽♀️I just got some flexi rods at the dollar store and I’m gonna try them out but hell no I’m not gonna sleep in them lol 😂 my plan is to put them in in damp washed hair and blow dry to set and see how they turn out!

You have such a beautiful hair. I had thick long hair I got keratin treatment for manageability now my hair is falling like crazy. What do you think I should do to it to stop the hair fall?
It seems your hair density is different than the other RUclipsr, and perhaps your strand thickness as well
Before you even started, I just felt you may need small sections. You have a lot of hair hun. Can you drop a skin care routine? Your skin looks great
Damp, mousse, oil and sit under the dryer. Then check and see if that works for you.
You should do smaller sections and a little more product.
I just stumbled upon this video in my recommended... Your hair 😍
I actually like it. Comb some baby hairs out and it will look great.
My hair is definitely not as thick as yours but it takes at least a day and a 1/2 to 2 days for my hair to air dry if it’s rolled up. 7 hours and my hair would definitely still be wet. 😬
It came out pretty
Don’t worry about it girl, it be like that sometimes 🤷🏾♀️ lol
Okay let me do another pump * 5 pumps later 😂 love thisssss
Can I give you HUGE tip? Straighten your hair and roll into the rods when it is still hot. Leave them in for half an hour to cool and set. Then take them down and you might get a smooth result. Please try it, it used to work wonders for my fluffy hair that loves to frizz.
You just need more product for the rods to set the style is all
Just curious...are you sick of dealing with your hair? I don’t have nearly the thickness or length of yours and I am at my wits end! Holding on by a thread- a very weak one at that. But your hair is gorgeous!

Just TOTALLY AWESOME !!!!
I think it didn't turn out the way you expected because you did it on dry hair and you probably need more than 7 sections. It's still beautiful though.😍
You need smaller sections because of the length and thickness of your hair. It won't curl with the larger sections.
1. You should definitely use 2-5 more of those rods so that you have less hair in each one. 2. I was today years old when I realized Americans don’t pronounce “iron” the way it’s spelled

Try the sock method!!!
Call it Glam Curls and embrace the frizz. Jk. I always expect my hair to be one way and it doesn't ever do it and I just say screw it, and just learn to love the frizz. Love big hair, just not in the summer. Lol
It looks good but smaller sections and more product
I just watched her video, she has lighter/thinner hair than you do. You have to do yours in smaller sections and she did mention going under the dryer (which gives better results). So I think the next time you do try it (pretty sure not anytime soon 😏) LOL just use a bit more products, smaller sections (probably 10) sit under the dryer, then sleep in them 😩 😄 Good luck🤞
Girl i thought you forgot that 😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️
Your reveal reminded me of Ariel 😍♥️ and maybe press the hair first so it’s not so big if you don’t like the valume/heat it adds from the weather being so hot 🥵
I was thinking similar to Shevonne Worley, you need to wind the hair and maybe this the horseshoe method.
You need smaller ones and use curling cream
Ok sooooo i watched the other lady’s video too & i think 1 her rods were smaller & 2 most importantly her hair is A LOT thinner & finer than yours soo you probably need more sections than she has
i love this video so much 😍😍
Gurl I notice you used more muse on your right then your left but I think just try again under the blow dryer
Lord!! Please...let my hair grow out like this...
I only have best results with flexi rods after using them on flat ironed hair!
