Above all the things, this game is about love too, how Red and Mr.Nobody endure till the end having just one another, it's just beautifull. I love how Red hugs the transistor when she's humming, and oh god Loghan's voice acting, he's playing an object and still he excells in making it feel "alive" to us players. This game is truly one of a kind.
There are so many video game songs that give me chills due to nostalgia. I don't really remember this song from the game and I still get chills-that's how I know it's a good song.

@@ferrjimenez Right? These other commenters must have alzheimers or something because this song kicks in at a very emotional moment not even 15 mins into the game.
In fact the moment you hear this song is the thing that made me play transistor, it plays right at the start of the game, you see a poster of youself, you see that you used to be the best singer in town, then sword tells you they stole your voice and this masterpiece starts playing right on time to prove you this and it's just... Even typing it give me chills, this was one of the most powerful moments i've ever experiencied on game
He had to have been going for that vibe when writing it and had to have told the singer to go for that sound. "The Spine of the World" would be a great title for a Bond film.
I couldn't have been the one who thinks this, and apparently Im not the only who does, cause 333 people liked your comment. Darren Korb has got to make a song for the next bond film whenever that comes around
That's because it uses the 'line cliche', the same harmonic device famously used in Monty Norman's James Bond theme. Basically, start on any minor chord then move the fifth of the chord up chromatically twice then back down twice. In this song, the guitar riff Darren wrote does the same thing.
***** More people = more opinion = too often they will sway from their main focus = mediocre game. I felt like just a handful of people focusing on one goal would be the most ideal.
This is why supergiant games is becoming one of my favorite developers even if transitor is the 2nd game they've made. You don't get this quality of music in games and the quality of details put into both games show just how one small group can made a huge impact in the industry. I've said this many times and I'll keep saying it: transistor will be my reason for getting a PS4.
When I wrote my comment, I meant in recent memory. Of course Silent Hill 2 had an incredible soundtrack and there have been many other games that have made great OSTs. That said, there haven't been that many games recently that can grab you and sucked you into the game as quick and effectively as Supergiant games has been able to when it just comes to the music.
There have been lots of games with great soundtracks recently. But you're right, Darren Korb is definitely one of the most talented composers in the industry right now.
Is it bad that I've become addicted to this song? This is one of the most beautiful tracks I've ever heard. I swear I've had it on loop for the past day or so, and it still sounds as absolutely stunning as the first time I heard it. It captures the game's atmosphere so perfectly and even gives off a bit of a "Skyfall" vibe (albeit personally I find this song better than Skyfall.) I can't help humming along to it, and occasionally sing along with it, which isn't something I normally do.

I wonder if the process analyse the superuser and try to "please" the Superuser based on reactions the Superuser make, and have had made against them. Royce for example, he did the maths, and found the Process and they became why Cloudbank kept changing, but in the way his maths predicted. It also began mimicking human quirks because humans trust humans, and it also used hard lines and shapes, as they're like mathematics: hard, as well as behaving in predictable, mathematical ways, as that's how he found them, but Royce wants art too, so the Transistor becomes his paintbrush. On the other hand, the process would have interpreted Red's songs, as they partly absorbed that part of her Trace, so they made the Spine, they heard the controversial "We all become one", and decided to enact that, oblivious to the fact that Red doesn't want that. the Transistor thus, became more of a weapon, designed to destroy Process (or impel them to go away), as opposed to Royce's ideals of using the process to create. Only when we interact with Royce, seeking a way to get to Fairview, then does the vague concept of creation occur to the process, and they build the bridge. which is genius, because it justifies Cloudbank itself: the process needs data, so the polling stations are set up, because information is a two-way street: the more data you give the process or an A.I., the better it can help you, and what better way to feed the data to the process than through a direct democratic system? Everyone gets a voice, which is why when you choose to change the weather, it's so significant, because the data is you, the only human left in the place, and your choice is a unanimous vote.

Just saying it would be rather interesting to see them cross paths on a project and work on it together.
I personally think Spine is the better of the two. But the soundtrack is stunning. I haven't actually played the game yet and I'm hooked on the OST. xD
Played it on PC when launched, loved it, made 100% and was still wanting more. Now with the PS4, nearly 1 year later, got the game again and beat it to the platinum, and i still loved it, Transistor is fucking awesome.
omfg, I would literally just stop playing for long periodd of time just to hang out on those little paradise island...things and listen to the freaking soundtrack. A+ game, for sure, but holy shit the music?! The music: A++++++++.
I'm pretty sure this is the 30th time I've listened to this since I beat the game for the first time earlier this week. Cannot get these songs out of my head.
I dont know why, but when the instrumental plays in the background, i like to use Turn() just to hear the music slightly muffled and with vocals. it feels "magical" of sorts
Reds songs are so powerful and keep you hooked. You can't help it as there push and pull in all dircetions.Espiccaly this one for me because I find myself singing it out of the blue...
Beautiful Vocals, just love the way this music sounds. I really hope this "Old-world Electronic Post-rock" (as Darren Korb calls it) becomes a really amazing genre with lots more music, its absolutely beautiful to listen to.
I can't think of any indie company that released a great game and came back and made even better game! While they managed to keep all the things people loved about Bastion, they implemented it differently which gives Transistor it's own flavor. Thank you Supergiant Games.

Sleeping alone, fingers tie
Themselves in knots around the heart, it beats in time
I see the spine of the world, sparkle and shine light the inside
I see the spine of the world, I know it's mine, twisted and tied
You always go walking on coals
Walk away slow
Feel a fire light your way to me
My siren song for you
I see the spine of the world, sparkle and shine light the inside
I see the spine of the world, I know it's mine, twisted and tied
I see the spine, so come with me
We'll fly right over, right over
Watch it break if we get closer, much closer
I see the spine of the world, sparkle and shine light the inside
I see the spine of the world, you know it's mine, twisted and tied

Red (Ashley Barret) Has a beautiful voice. I don't remember the last time I have heard vocals so full of quality.
Actually, Red was voiced by Kristin Wilson. Ashley didn't voice a character this time.
Hmmmm really. The person Singing(Ashley Barret) are recordings of Red's voice before she lost it.

Ashley Barret is the one who sung
***** And the thing after the thing with the spoilers. But yeah, strictly speaking, Ashley didn't voice Red. At all.
Except she did, because she sang all of Red's songs, man. Last time I checked, songs are voiced.
Blows me away every time to think of the absolute beauty that the human voice is capable of producing. Truly remarkable.
The voice is a musical instrument just like any other ;)

Doubtful that they're directly associated with one another; at a stretch, Darren may have been a bit influenced by the man, but there's no media linking them on a professional level, much less Ashley. Just saying it would be rather interesting to see them cross paths on a project and work on it together.
I don't like how I can only like and favorite this once. I need to like/favorite it at least ten million times.
I can't decide which is better, In Circles or this.
Been trying to decide the same thing for myself.
I personally think Spine is the better of the two. But the soundtrack is stunning. I haven't actually played the game yet and I'm hooked on the OST. xD
GoatJesus
Yeah well, she is quite literal in the lyrics as far as her description of said Spine.
Why decide which is better? they're both awesome in their unique way.
_n c_rcl_s is your answer
I always stand on top of the tree in the backdoor room, watching the sun listening to this song or Circles.
Still here... always here.
got this game on epic for free, that was 2 years ago yet i still keep coming back to these osts, truly a master of the craft with these
Another 2 years and this is still one of my favorite games I just so happened to stumble upon
Dec 2019 and I always come back to this song a few times a year.
I still listen to this. It's so beautiful.
Played it on PC when launched, loved it, made 100% and was still wanting more. Now with the PS4, nearly 1 year later, got the game again and beat it to the platinum, and i still loved it, Transistor is fucking awesome.
I remember first hearing this 5 years ago Fuck time flies
This song gives me such a shudder down my spine, and I can’t describe the emotion I feel from it.
Man this music is the best on transistor,it's impossible to dislike this, thank you supergiant games
ty mortdog for playing this on ur stream
tft stream
This song really sums up my experience with Transistor. Beautiful and mellow.
such a haunting song. thank you ashley barrett and darren korb.
It’s 2021 and it’s more than 3 years since I said this is beautiful. and I still think it’s beautiful.
I used to go watch the demo all the time just to listen to this one song even with all the in-game sounds. But this released track is just....soothing
Just realized that that lady that voiced Zia in Bastion played Red...just beautiful on so many levels.
every Transistor songs are perfection. no joke
omfg, I would literally just stop playing for long periodd of time just to hang out on those little paradise island...things and listen to the freaking soundtrack.
A+ game, for sure, but holy shit the music?! The music: A++++++++.
Finished the game tonight, man what a work of art! Magnifico....
this is far one of my favorites, i literally fell inlove first time i heard it
1 million views! If any game OST deserves it, its this one
damn What Is It With Supergiant Games And Good Music :)
They have Darren Korb. He is a genius (as I'm sure you can tell)
Darren Korb.
This song should be in the next James Bond movie intro theme.
Ashley Barrett is voice goals
If I didn't know better I would say this came from a pop artist and would expect to hear it on the radio!
The guitar backing in the song gives it that myterious james bond feel. I like it
Reds songs are so powerful and keep you hooked. You can't help it as there push and pull in all dircetions.Espiccaly this one for me because I find myself singing it out of the blue...
My favorite song in a game with such an amazing soundtrack.
Beautiful Vocals, just love the way this music sounds. I really hope this "Old-world Electronic Post-rock" (as Darren Korb calls it) becomes a really amazing genre with lots more music, its absolutely beautiful to listen to.
Never heard of the game until a friend showed me this song, and now, i wish i played this beutiful piece
This has to be the song I love most of this whole soundtrack. It's just so good!
I can't think of any indie company that released a great game and came back and made even better game!
While they managed to keep all the things people loved about Bastion, they implemented it differently which gives Transistor it's own flavor.
Thank you Supergiant Games.
I really love the vibration, or whatever it's called, at 0:47.
Tremolo if I'm not mistaken.
Truly great vocals, I'm loving this soundtrack.
Everytime i play a supergiant game i get so immersed i find it hard to escape its such an experience
There is something of Akira Yamaoka in this musics. And that's a huge compliment.
I think this is my favourite. Love how Breach() names the Spine after one of Red's songs.
After so many years, still strong love and very warm feelings. ❤
Is it coincidence that the space between the Transistor and Red's body is shaped like a play button?
Holy shit, never noticed that and I own the physical album. That's brilliant if intentional.
this song is so good, lyrics and instrumental work
Took me so long to beat the game because i couldnt stop listening to the tracks, especially this one and circles.
