The typical aspect ratio today is 16:9 (1920x1080). Now cinemascope has an aspect ratio of 2.35:1. So if you have 1920 in width in relation to the height, the height would be 817 pixels and not 800 to be exact :D

Do you have any advice on grading minecraft recordings to a 3-strip Technicolor look - or better yet - a Super 8 Film look? I only have HitFilm Express & DaVinci Resolve, but will try to keep up.

Yes, good question. I typically start with 3-strip color systems and build on top of that, but if your looking for something more retro such as Super 8 Film, I'd highly recommend Magic Bullet. It's how I created my Stranger Things opening recreation. If you don't have access to Magic Bullet, use Chromatic Aberration and Film Grain on top of your color corrections, additionally seek out free plugins that might offer real camera lens simulations such as FujiFilm 3510 and Kodak 2395. Hope this answers your question. :)
