Alex Recuenco The movie is suppose to be a drama and if people would watch and pay attention to the movie besides the sex scenes, y’all would know that the movie is about A man who is damage because of his childhood life of physical abuse and sexual abuse , that he is plagued by a fetish that was brought to him by his adoptive moms friend who sexually dominated him when he was a child. He was also physical abuse my his birth moms pimp. And when he meets Anna who is a virgin. who was willing to enter his world but not fully willing to be the submissive he wants her to be. And he even tells her in the first movie that he is fifty shades of f......up . Throughout the three movies he go from a damaged man who wouldn’t let her touch him and can’t chaNge his ways which ultimately why he loses her in the first movie to a man is changing and trying at some point he is willing to let her touch him and be come her submissive. It’s a very deep movie if you actually watch and read the books.
Agreed. I mean, the books weren't that well written, but I really enjoyed the story as it deals with a lot of quite intense topics that actually apply to a large percentage of the population. One thing I really enjoyed about the books was that Christian and Ana actually empowered each other. Christian's "dominance" and sexual knowledge leads Ana to become more knowledgeable about her own sexual preferences and allows her to openly and honestly explore her own sexuality and sensuality. On the other hand, Ana's emotional support, patience, and encouragement gives Christian a safe space to explore and deal with his hidden traumas. This is the first "real" relationship that both of them have had and in that way, they both start out acting as insecure adolescents in many ways but over the course of the story, they take turns leading each other and pushing each others to become stronger and more honest with themselves and with others. Take away the "taboo" sex and the fact that Christian is obscenely wealthy and I think the ebbs and flows and power exchanges in their relationship is incredibly relateable to most people.

I don’t understand the amount of negative comments, with all the respect all of you deserve I personally think it’s a good movie. It’s not all about sex, it has actually a story line that follows how Christian Grey got abused and still learned how to love Anastasia the way she wanted him to. It’s more than sadomasochistic sex, it also talks about how Christian likes to control women during sexual relationships to feel pleasured but that changes when he meets Anastasia. He didn’t only fall in love with her but show her how much he loves her.
Now, I don’t think he is ashamed of the movie, I mean... he knows what he signed for. Of course he cannot talk about it freely because there’s a sensitive audience. Also, guys remember he is married...!! Of course it’s not easy for him to talk about it without being hesitant of saying stuff that might cause people to have a different point of view of the movie.
Anyways, that’s just my opinion and if any of you are going to insult me or criticize me just don’t reply to this. Don’t waste your time hating someone that you won’t even meet.

In the UK it doesn't get released until Monday 18th June - that's a long time since it was released in the cinema. Hyped up to keep fans buying the ever more expensive and ever more explicit versions of Freed. Once the UK release is out perhaps it will start to settle down. I think most people miss the basis of these films which is that an abused child is trying to make his way through his life the best he can. At least he didn't turn out to be a criminal like so many people who got a "rough start" in life. The effects of abuse are long and can be severe.

Look at 3:39, he couldn't hide his emotions after seeing the clip, he was so uncomfortable in his skin, Conan saved him with a joke. He was joking from the beginning as soon as the showing of the clip was over, he was so sadden, and so uncomfortable in his skin, fidgetting, shrugging his shoulders like it meant nothing, he clearly was 100% bothered, it probably stirred emotional feelings and was caught off guard, it doesn't take a rock scientist to see it for what it was. He has deep feelings for her and tries to hide it, but he cant, he is going to stay in a marriage that is eventually going to end because he got a taste of freedom to be himself and feel what true raw love is, you can't lie to yourself. Love like this doesn't come along that often, he can be a better parent finding his peace and being loved properly and being with the person your destined to be with, than staying miserable in an unhappy marriage with the wrong partner for same of the kids, who in the long run, your teaching them not to live their truth but to settle for less. I think he needs to stand up to his dominating, controlling wife and stop allowing her to run the show. .

The biggest problem and the part Jamie and Dakota hates is not the movies, because they're great (and they both said that a lot of times), but because on these kind of shows all they ask about is sex...and these movies are much more than just sex, they have much deeper meaning...first of all it's a story about how unconditional love and warmth of a loved one can save a person and heal their soul and the scars they have. That's the main storyline of the trilogy and exactly how Jamie and Dakota sees them! So it's obvious that they pissed because so many people are so primitive that they are incapable of seeing beyond sex to the real meaning of the story!
We all need a man like he is in life and man needs a woman whos like dakota
