The economy block is such a great way to use scraps while using the outside fabric to bring cohesion. And your tools make all blocks 100% no fail finishes.
Wow! Wonderful explanation, I have been looking for a precise odd-shaped square in a square block to put a horse quilt together for my daughter. They are pretty big, like 11.5 inches, so I will have to cut on the inch line I think. Does that sound right? I’m going to look for this today at my LQS.
I really like that the "straight of grain edges", not the bias, are on the outside of the block. (Some other companies rulers and methods make instructions for blocks that finish with bias edges on the outside of the block.)
I see this method often with HST (4 at a time). I rail against it every time. Don't use a QST where an HST is needed and vise versa. When I was starting out, I didn't have the discernment between the the two. Now...I do ...and I rail against any method that has bias on the outside.
on the Part A ruler, for a one inch square it says to cut from 1 1/4" strips, for 2 " square, cut from 2" strips, then for 3" square, it says to cut from 2 3/4" strips. that doesn't make sense and I must be reading it wrong. please explain or direct me to a video that will demonstrate. thank you - Kathy
Thank you for all your amazing tutorials. I am new to quilting and these are so helpful. Please can you tell me if there are any suppliers of your rulers in the UK? xx
I know Im asking the wrong place but does anybody know a trick to log back into an instagram account..? I was dumb forgot the password. I would love any tips you can offer me!
@Asa Misael Thanks for your reply. I found the site on google and im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
This is just an introduction to the rulers video. She says in this video that there are patterns, instructional videos, instructions that come with the ruler, and a technique sheet to show you how to use the rulers.
Still binge watching your videos! Learning something in each of them...wish you had been my quilt teacher 20+ years ago!!
I like all your information. My sister left me with many of your tools and I never really knew how to use them properly.
I am glad that I can help to learn the tools to get the most use out of them.
