I do like Voctave! Christmas songs are really in their wheelhouse. I look forward to seeing some Voctave holiday reactions this winter. Neither of these two songs are Voctave originals. Have a great week.
Great reaction to these 2 separate songs. Both are covers. The slow 2nd song I sang in grade school long before your time, I'm 65. The 1st faster song is from more recently, although not sure of the year of either or the original artists. So glad I subscribed. Keep the Voctave reactions coming. There are dozens to choose and you will enjoy all of them.
"This is a long reaction, I hope you're still with me" at 7 minutes. HAHAHAHAHA, you're funny. Many of us following reactions listen to these constantly and daily. I have personally seen a 1 hour reaction and attend regular live streams where we react for hours on end.

I loved your phrasing "the drone of bass that lays a foundation to build on" and I'd push it even further. The bass foundation is rightfully truly a must, especially in acapella. But Voctave takes it a step further because they have a secret weapon in Kate, which allows them to abandon the bass (or minimize it) and yet it remains tethered on the high end with her so it continues the anchor for the arrangement. Well done!
As a huge fan of Voctave, I know when the “kick you in the feels” moments are coming. You definitely hit them. I am very surprised you didn’t have that “oh yeah” reaction of realizing what the songs were. They are rather popular and I remember singing them in grade school. Maybe beyond your years and not as popular in your youth. (I’m 55)

You should really google Jamey Ray. If you are not aware, he has (dare I say) a handicap, where he was born with one arm, but I believe his left arm just wasn’t fully formed. I saw a short documentary on him. If you already think he’s a genius, seeing that will only reenforce that. Peace, my friend.
