- First 24 hours of Cybertruck Ownership! A whirlwind day, amazing interest and reactions & lots of fun! Also, I cover three features of the Cybertruck you may not have heard or know about!
Reminder, The Cybertruck (and me) are headed to Starbase tomorrow for Starship Launch #3! See you there!
As a 3rd grade teacher I can confirm that just about every one of my students knows what a Cyber Truck is. My own son had drawn a picture of a Cyber Truck for my birthday that I hung behind my desk and all my students thought I was so cool because I ‘knew’ about the Cyber Truck.

Great video! For the emergency exit in the truck bed, Tesla should consider replacing that cover piece with one that actually glows in the dark.

8 years old is about when I started flying. I had to use seat booster to see over the dash and couldn't reach the rudder peddles, but I did start to learn how to use the other controls.
Lift pad area looks like a jack could slide off really easy so be careful, maybe a nonslip rubber pad on the jack is called for there. Good to hear you enjoying your new "toy" ... I would still like to see a rounded wheel cutout .. I think it would match the wheel shape better. Love the tire slinging mud underneath!
Thanks, and please keep updating us on any and all features you know about. Someone needs to make a Cybertruck video for future owners covering these things. I’d really like a daylong class on it.

Thinking about the escape mechanism in the truck bed, that may be the ultimate safety bunker in the event of a catastrophic event while you are on the road. Add some food and water, and you have a safe place that also has electricity. Congrats on the truck, you deserve it.

Tesla has a great future-the Younger Generation are open minded and they love, love & love Tesla.
After I picked my MS LR from the wrappers (matte black), one of our neighbor's 4 grandchildren threw themselves into our dead end road yelling me to stop, when I did the oldest came around ( 10 years old) and wanted to see the Batmobile Tesla. They knew all there's to know about Teslas and I promised them I'll keep the name Batmobile since it was their wish. Another time driving out, this time driving my MX, they wanted to see the gull wings opening and closing which they've only seen it on RUclips videos. Those kids are definitely tomorrow's Tesla owners and pushing their grandma to get a MY even though she just bought a new crossover to haul their cute behinds around, she promised them she'll get one after a year.

Joe, I am ( to quote Hubert Humphrey ) "pleased as puncĥ" you got your CT. Looking forward to trip reports and thoughts on some of the unique things like getting used to fly by wire. When you were flyingm was it still cables and pulleys?

Great comments about those 3 relatively-unknown notes about the Cybertruck - and especially the safety feature to explain how to free yourself if you get trapped inside the bed of the truck! I'm sure those 3 notes are all mentioned in the user manual, but very few people actually read the user manual for their car or truck - thanks, Joe!!
I wonder if you could “monetize” your new Cybertruck, lol. $20 for an autographed picture & 10 minutes playing inside it 😂 on that undercariage mud, the new delivery center may in fact run them through a wash before getting on the haulers, we’ll see, their going to be doing something inside that new end of line building 👍✅ Lifting points without the holes are interesting, I guess the reason is the pack is bigger, and on the Model S/X, the lifting points are on the structure of the vehicle, not the pack itself.. nice discovery on the little door on the tailgate for emergency escape. You continue to be a wealth of knowledge ✅ Are you going to have an electrician install the new home backup equipment, that is supposed to come with all of the foundation series trucks? That might get me to say “yes” to a foundation, since their including FSD ($12K) and the “Powershare Home Backup”, and the “Powershare Mobile Connector” (probably worth another $4-5K), and Joe you also get “Lifetime Premium Connectivty”.. thats probably worth a few bucks as well 👍 Surprised they didn’t include “Unlimited Free SuperCharging for Life” (I still have it on my ancient 2013 MS).. hmm, maybe it is worth $20K more. Do you know if it still qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax credit? That would be my decision make/break…

That escape strap is similar to the manual rear seat door opening straps in a Model Y. They're under the mat in the door's storage receptacle.

You should see some of the trucks from last fall when it launched and how dirty they got. Pretty apparent at the people mover vehicles too. Hell, just leaving a vehicle for an hour next to some of the construction roads make it look like its been abandoned for weeks haha.
Not sure if its well known either, but on the UI, tap on the driver's side windows and watch what happens ;)

Great tip on the tailgate release I have been exactly thinking about that for some time now. And I have never seen that surface of the tailgate. But that make sense.

I remember Sandy Munro mentioning ate opening plunger in the door, but he only showed it very briefly and the way it works couldn't get appreciated nearly as well as the way how you showed it here.

Hey Joe, I made a list of cyber truck accessories and tools that I thought someone with a particular trade might wanna include in their toolbox, but I’m retired and I don’t have any particular trade. but I thought it was an interesting exercise and where do you get these. what are the keywords to search for on Your favorite spot like tractor supply or fire truck stations ? Whatever Ace Hardware; Lowe’s, Home Depot, and of course Amazon. Tesla is going to offer more accessories as well. thanks for the tips on the lift since I had the model three and the model Y that use the Plugs. Good job and have a nice trip to the launch.

@JoeTegtmeyer allowed me to test out the cargo bay enclosure and I can confirm the lights do go out if you were somehow trapped inside…I can also confirm that as a 6’ guy, I could totally stretch out lengthwise and take a nap in there…😆

I wonder what happens if the electric door plunger doesn’t work? What’s plan B 😊 Also I wonder how long the tunnel cover will work with dust, stones and other debris? Will it be doomed like the Rivian electric tunnel cover? By the way, we rarely hear the tunnel cover actual noise in RUclips reviews. The same thing goes for the lift compressor. This and a little more educational material should be required on all vehicles.
That trunk lid release should have a red colored cover. Maybe even a voice activated light. Can you imagine finding and then trying to pull those little straps out when you're drowning?
What the emergency latch on the front doors? Are they like the model y where someone can accidentally pull the lever? Thx.
