the fact this version was supported until 1.13 is a genuinely impressive feat you NEVER see support for old games for that long, especially on the xbox 360
I'm 16 and I grew up with Console Edition Minecraft on Xbox 360, and boy oh boy do I miss it. Honestly, Bedrock was only really useful to play servers and cross-platform multiplayer, because other than that, console edition was the best way to play Minecraft on consoles, hands down. Then again, it makes sense why they discontinued it too. Making a specific version of Minecraft for every console that existed meant they would've had to keep supporting 7 different versions of Minecraft for 7 different consoles, 4 of which were either outdated or discontinued entirely. Still though, RIP console editions 🥲🫠
Pretty much the same story here. 16 years old and started on the 360. I started playing in December 2014 when my grandad got me a 360 for Christmas and my little brother taught me how to play minecraft at the time and it was the only game I played until maybe 2019. Well I did play gta in 2015 but very rarely. I started playing other games since 2019 and now it's a very rare occurrence for me to play minecraft anymore.
Funnily enough, this is the only version my dad plays of Minecraft. He still plays it a lot, and we still play with him regularly, despite playing the newer versions. So even though this game was a heavy part of my childhood, I still make new memories in it to this day.
I still have the old world my dad made with me back in 2012. I revisit it sometimes when I'm feeling nostalgic. Also, sometimes I like to revisit the destroyed hellscape that is my first tutorial world. It looks like a warzone.
I used to play this game so long ago on the Xbox. My earliest memory of Minecraft was when anvils were just being added to it, and me and my friend Lachlan were soooooo excited to finally be able to make god swords and god bows without having to get lucky on the 100th lvl. 30 enchant.
Watching you play this game it feels like there’s no difference it looks so normal to me but then when I see modern minecraft it seems so different and crazy
@@FallenRains 360 got the aquatic update, but theres still a horrible bug they left where fish float to the surface of bodies of water instead of staying down, and its been left forever like that unpatched
The only downside to this version of the game is the lack of infinite worlds, apart from that I believe this is the definitive version of Minecraft. It's a time capsule of our childhood that is mostly untouched by the alien additions of the newer updates. This edition is timeless and I hope it is never forgotten by our generation.
They're wiping that version out now tho. To play it, you need the old disc before they released Bedrock Edition, which is pretty hard to come by if you didn't get it before then.
I love how the game's interface actually felt blocky. The desaturated look is definitely an aquired taste but man, the nostalgia. Also, if you crouch while flying, youll put out your fist like Superman!
i would like to talk about this specifically, and i feel like writing about it in this video, here on RUclips. minecraft is one of the few games that can stay with you for a lifetime, present in our blood. even just by hearing a melody, we are able to evoke thousands of different memories. i would like to remember my experience that happened to me months ago, me and my brother Alessio. ever since we were gifted our Xbox 360 fat edition (it was in 2011) right at Christmas, we started a creative mode where we created an incredible world. and with the discovery of Xbox Live, we also took it online with some people who enjoyed destroying the world 😂 it was fun, at least for almost 3 years, until Alessio was involved in a car accident and lost his life at the age of 16. however, I'm not here to make it a tragedy. but a while ago, I remembered that we played a sort of treasure hunt in the game world, which was never completed as he passed away, so I lost interest in that game too. I hated it. a few days ago, a Minecraft song played on Amazon Music, and it brought back memories that overwhelmed me with tears. I immediately went down to the basement to look for my Xbox, but unfortunately, I lost the battery slot, so I immediately bought a new one online. I took a tour of the world and while exploring, I saw the cave where we created this "treasure hunt." I don't remember what he hid from me in that cave, but I searched like crazy for about a day until I found the chest that was HANGING right at the entrance. what was in the chest? a diary with an Xbox Live code to redeem for 3 months. I stared at the screen for 2 hours because we had fought over that code just a few days before that treasure hunt. it was a way to apologize a little bit. never stop playing Minecraft, guys. thank you to those who made it to this part of the comment. i love you all.
I remember playing this version of Minecraft a long time ago. I don't know which update it was, but I think it was somewhere between the 1.0.0 and 1.2.1 Java equivalent. I just remember they didn't have Ocelots in the game until later. So probably version TU7.
Minecraft is so much more than I ever expected it to become when I first played it at 8 years old in 2011. I was playing on a server today raged and quit to play survival to “get away from the game”
I also started with this version. I mostly watched my siblings play, but at around the age of 4 or 5 I joined the world they always played in. We got a gigantic city with multiple houses and railways going to a mushroom island. The memories are insane. I am very happy that none of these worlds are actually lost.
I started playing in January 2015 when it was in the 1.6.4 equivalent update. I remember me and my brothers continually playing the tutorial and seeing what we could build in the limited time. The date of my first world after going out and buying it was on the 25th, unfortunately sometime in the 2 years after that it got corrupted somehow. I remember making a cliffside mansion out of mineral blocks and quartz, and it looked really bad.
Whenever I hear XBOX 360 Edition, It brings back memories when I used to watch Stampy a lot when I was young. Man good old days, now I gotta pay bills.
Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition was truly one of the most impacting games in the 2014-2016 era. I've made a lot of memories and appreciate how people still consider it as one of the best versions of the game. Although it might not compare to the current versions, it still brought a great experience and reminded us of simpler times.
I played minecraft for the first time back in 2012 on my cousin’s 360, and I immediately went to Walmart and bought it for my PS3. Those two versions will always remain my all time favorites!

Tysm for bringing me back down this nostalgia road. I used to play this all the time with my mom and dad and they had fun with it back then, too. My mom made the most incredible little town on there with a bowling alley, glass church, we made a 7/11 and even a wild minecart track with a waterslide. My pops and I made an adult book store where I made these ludicrous prices, too. 😂

I started playing Minecraft not too long before the 360 release. I remember being so excited seeing my favorite game at the time being ported to the Xbox. It made it so much more accessible to me and my 11 year old buddies at the time. Truly precious memories.
If it was updated, the console versions would've surely been better than Bedrock. It's similar to Java (with the graphics, sounds and redstone), it has that crafting menu (which is better than the normal one for controllers) and has some features like putting knockback on sticks and custom flat worlds.
Last year I took the time to export all of my PS3 worlds to Java. The program I used ported the world exactly, but everything on the outside of the edge of the PS3 world was newly regenerated terrain (normally an ocean). It was crazy flying to the top to see how small legacy console worlds are. My PC could render the entire space within the old PS3 boarders.
I first played Minecraft on the 360 back in 2012. It was my nephew's system but eventually I got my own copy on PS3. 11 years and i'm still enjoying this game.
When I was nine in 2018, I got my Xbox 360, I didn't know much about consoles, so for me the Xbox 360 was a next-gen console, I remember buying my Minecraft, I played in the old versions of the game, because I didn't know how to update it, then I found out how to update to Update Aquatic, I remember playing several free mash-ups together with my cousin, who was five years old at the time, I also remember never having discovered the secret of the minigame map. But definitely the thing that marked me the most were the songs, turn on my Xbox 360 in the morning, put in the Minecraft disc, and the first thing I see is "Xbox Live Arcade", while playing Moog City 2, I really miss that.
Exactly the same with me, I got it in 2018 and had no idea what an xb360 was! I played on this one world for 4000 hours but when I went back on it recently it was gone…
This is and will forever be my favorite version of Minecraft, not java or bedrock (yes bedrock and console are different) This just hold so much nostalgic value and the tutorial worlds are all extremely memorable. I knew eventually it had to come to an end, but it still hurts to think that this version is basically dead.
Oh it brings back the memories. I remember convincing my mom to buy the pirates of the Caribbean texture pack and me and my brother would make pirate ships.
Seeing you play this brings back good memories of me playing Minecraft on the 360 I've been playing since version 1.6.6 I need to get back on my 360 again and play.
I got introduced to Minecraft when I first played it on my cousin's Xbox 360. I felt so fascinated by that game that my uncle gave me a copy of Minecraft for my Xbox 360 as a gift. Then it became my favorite game ever. The Xbox 360 Edition I used to play was so simple but so fun for me. I miss those days :')
bro ppl are praising ur editing down here, but i believe a more important aspect to this video is the story telling, i was reading an article on essays where it said that more often then not, good storytelling is 90% of the time better than good editing. Your video has both elements, good storytelling plus good editing. I believe that u may inshallah find success on youtube
I loved it as when it first came out, it was running on I believe 1.5 or 1.6 Beta at the time, it was when Zombies were dropping feathers as the engine they programmed it on was very restrictive, could not have infinite worlds due to limitations. Also the removal of normal crafting with an automatic one which I was never a fan of. I spent most of my teenager years paying on the PC version during the Beta stages, then through the official release which was really cool. But when the console version came out, it was a wacky port. :D
@@schmizzle Oh of course! Its amazing. I still play the older Beta's today and think. Holy moly this game has progressed wonderfully haha! Amazing video though by the way pal! You earned a subby! :)
would defo love the 100 days of the regular survival @Schmizzle i grew up playing Minecraft xbox 360 edition too its just so amazing to see how far Minecraft has come a game, but also i do love the nostalgia of the older versions too.this is a great video, anyone thinking about watching it you definitely should its rather interesting and entertaining :)
this bring me back good memories, i remember playing Minecraft for the first time and it was the 360 Edition, and Minecraft was the first game i ever played. if i am correct i was 6 or 7 when i was playing Minecraft for the first time.
with this video you made me remember all the fantastic moments spent when I was younger playing with my friends at my house on the XBOX together, whether it was minecraft but also other games like CoD and many others
God the graphics of the 360 edition are so nostalgic. Honestly kinda prefer them over the current graphics even though the new ones are objectively better.
I can’t believe how wide Minecraft’s reach is. I’m 22, my older brother is 29 and we have been obsessed with the game since we heard of it. And to hear people a little younger than me be introduced to gaming thru MC is just awesome
24 now. I remember buying this and being absolutely scared of the night time and my first encounter with and Enderman. MC definitely lost it's charm but it's holds key moments in my life.
This game was awesome. I remember being so excited to install it on my xbox one once it was available in 2014 for next gen. So glad i still have the xbox one console edition which is exact same as xbox 360 edition. I first play minecraft on xbox 360 in june 2012. Buying minecraft was the best decision i ever made!!
I remember XBOX 360 being my first experience with Minecraft… I had the demo version for a while and young-me made the goal of mining an obsidian block (not even obtaining, just breaking it) before the demo timer ran out! I eventually got the full version, then later I got the PC version… and at the time, the PC Version had an online multiplayer on the browser!
seeing that old create a world menu just gives me nostalgia of constantly making worlds with different texture packs, the one I used the most was the clean simple graphics one and the halo one. Skins where also good, even though there weren’t many, the ones already in the game were good enough to give creativity. But hey, thats just me seeing back to my younger years.
I remember me and my cousing buying this game in 2014 after playing at the playground in a little store near the supermarket. Then we went so excited to my house to test the game. Good memories
I remember watching Dantdm playing this when I was a little kid I used to play pocket edition back then and tried to copy his world but pocket edition did not have most of the items console did the good old days I would love to watch 100 days of Xbox 360 I subscribed great videos
Oh my god the nostalgia hits me like a train. I miss my old Xbox 360 so much😢😢. I used to play on it everyday, listening to the music, and now I’m graduating Highschool and it’s just… wow. I miss my childhood
the xbox 360/ps3 version was perfect it literally was it barely had any bugs it and was like minecraft java at this point but on console man i love it and the time im saying this as a 15y who has been playing since over 7 years this is literal nostalgia thanks much for bringing this version up again!
I only ever owned the Xbox 360 Arcade console which was the og 360 that was fat and loud and a had high chance of getting the "red ring of death" and dying. Over the years, the disk drive stopped working and would get stuck and so I had to pry it open most of the time. The first game I played on it was Call of Duty Black Ops and I remember being secretly upset because I wanted BO2 but my Mum got me the wrong one but I loved it regardless. That same Christmas I got the 360, my uncle bought me Minecraft for the Xbox 360. Don't get me wrong, I was no newbie when it came to Minecraft, I had already played it on PC and mobile at this point but I was over the moon anyway bc I was obsessed with this game and I had played that version at my cousins and was in love with it. I went on to have a lot of happy memories with that game, playing it with friends that I am sadly no longer in contact with. I remember how with every update they had with it, it got exceeding more laggy. Especially due to the fact they were squeezing the potential of the hardware and I was still using a first generation 360 from 2005 lmao. I also remember being extremely excited to play the new version of Minecraft on Xbox One that had nicer graphics and a bigger map. Unfortunately, by the time I got an Xbox One, they had already "upgraded" the game to the new Bedrock version and, unless you had already owned it, there was no way to go back to the og Xbox version by 4JStudios. It's a shame, their version of Minecraft always felt more premium in quality somehow.
Same me and my friend and we would always find the secrets and freak out about them because we really didn’t know we thought this was bedrock, but then we got an Xbox one and then we looked and got bedrock
I still play my copy, at first for the nostalgia of exploring my old builds then for creating new worlds. I haven't played pc recently so still got to explore "new to me" content. So yes, while my old 360 lags in some spots it is still a good game.
I really love the editing in these types of videos haha, really entertaining stuff! :)) I never played xbox BUT we did have PS3 version, I really don't know how people play MC on console + controller; it hurt my hands and I personally got sick from looking at the TV at such distance haha
I remember where i played the old version where you couldn't sprint. I was like one years old when i played that And that's all i remember. Now that i see this i remember playing this with my siblings and we where having so much fun.. I love the good old days. also i tried to play in the mini games with people and there was no one XD. i'd love to see you play 100 day in the old times.
i’m 14 and this is the first game i played on the xbox it was the xbox one s in 2016 man the nostalgia my first game was skylanders who remembers skylanders?

That means a lot, I try my best on that part cause that’s what really makes a channel great
Im 17 and i grew up on the 360, lots of memories
I loved it as when it first came out, it was running on I believe 1.5 or 1.6 Beta at the time, it was when Zombies were dropping feathers as the engine they programmed it on was very restrictive, could not have infinite worlds due to limitations. Also the removal of normal crafting with an automatic one which I was never a fan of. I spent most of my teenager years paying on the PC version during the Beta stages, then through the official release which was really cool. But when the console version came out, it was a wacky port. :D
It’s cool to see how the games evolved for sure
@@schmizzle Oh of course! Its amazing. I still play the older Beta's today and think. Holy moly this game has progressed wonderfully haha! Amazing video though by the way pal! You earned a subby! :)
Seeing this nearly made me tear up, so cool , please do 100 days in this
would defo love the 100 days of the regular survival @Schmizzle i grew up playing Minecraft xbox 360 edition too its just so amazing to see how far Minecraft has come a game, but also i do love the nostalgia of the older versions too.this is a great video, anyone thinking about watching it you definitely should its rather interesting and entertaining :)
Why thank you!
Bro the crafting menu even tho I’m below the age of the xbox360, it brings me back to pocket edition 2012
Good content, keep it up... here's the sub
Thank you for the sub!
this bring me back good memories, i remember playing Minecraft for the first time and it was the 360 Edition, and Minecraft was the first game i ever played. if i am correct i was 6 or 7 when i was playing Minecraft for the first time.
Yes, 100 Days! I'm subbing 👍
Thanks for the sub!
with this video you made me remember all the fantastic moments spent when I was younger playing with my friends at my house on the XBOX together, whether it was minecraft but also other games like CoD and many others
Not sure why this video got recommended to me, but glad it did. Love the calm vibe you got going on, :)
Why thank you Savon. Means a lot!🥹
Stopped playing 360 around when they added armour stands I feel old now
100 Days?! Yes please 🤩
🫡
I never played it
But this Minecraft version carried my childhood
God the graphics of the 360 edition are so nostalgic. Honestly kinda prefer them over the current graphics even though the new ones are objectively better.
Understandable
I remember when I was younger I played Minecraft on the ps3. And this just brought back so many fun memories.
Do a 100 days in Xbox 360 I subed
Will do🫡
@@schmizzle noice
Oh God......, I just got a lot of nostalgia, thank you for reviving this!
100 days, rn
It’s up on my channel now!
I was 16 when I when I got into Minecraft beta 1.3. And hearing you say you were 7. Makes me feel old af.
Damn we’re the same age lol cause back in 2011 I was 7 too lol, this game is absolutely legendary 😭
I still have the Xbox 370 version, and I love it. Great split screen game to play with my friend, and so many memories of a simpler time
I can’t believe how wide Minecraft’s reach is. I’m 22, my older brother is 29 and we have been obsessed with the game since we heard of it.
And to hear people a little younger than me be introduced to gaming thru MC is just awesome
man, that tutorial world on ps3 takes me back, such a great memory.
Thank your for bringing back my nostalgia like on the menu it made me get so many feelings
100 days will be fun. I still play this game today and love just how simple everything is
I remember playing this with my cousin and i remember having so much fun, no worries, nothing going on in our life just making sure we dont die.

dude when you played the elytra minigame I got soo much nostalgia. thank you
Enjoyed the vid!! Earned another sub! Keep up the awesome work!!
Oh my god the nostalgia hits me like a train. I miss my old Xbox 360 so much😢😢. I used to play on it everyday, listening to the music, and now I’m graduating Highschool and it’s just… wow. I miss my childhood
This is so nostalgic just because of this I’m subscribing and waiting for the 100 days
The 100 days is already up!
@@schmizzle yipee!
i grew up on this my first ever game i played and i still play it with my friends all the time
the xbox 360/ps3 version was perfect it literally was it barely had any bugs it and was like minecraft java at this point but on console man i love it
and the time im saying this as a 15y who has been playing since over 7 years this is literal nostalgia thanks much for bringing this version up again!
It's a shame, their version of Minecraft always felt more premium in quality somehow.
im 13 and i started playing 1.8 minecraft on the PS3, we couldn't afford a PS4, it was one of the best times i ever had
I remembered i always played the Tutorial world as a survival gameplay,
personally it’s nostalgic.
Same me and my friend and we would always find the secrets and freak out about them because we really didn’t know we thought this was bedrock, but then we got an Xbox one and then we looked and got bedrock
the memories i got from this is insane
I just replayed minceraft on my old xbox 360 for the first time in what must be like 5 years and it was so nostalgic
Bro this video made me cry because I know my old Minecraft worlds on my Xbox 360 is forever gone and I will never get to revisit it
The nostalgia I just got from that
I cried watching this when Minecraft Xbox 360 came out I was four and just so much nostalgia crazy
I never played xbox BUT we did have PS3 version, I really don't know how people play MC on console + controller; it hurt my hands and I personally got sick from looking at the TV at such distance haha
Yeah it’s definitely not the same as it was 10 years ago. And thank you for the support!
I remember where i played the old version where you couldn't sprint. I was like one years old when i played that And that's all i remember. Now that i see this i remember playing this with my siblings and we where having so much fun.. I love the good old days.
also i tried to play in the mini games with people and there was no one XD. i'd love to see you play 100 day in the old times.
even as someone who is no 16-26, 360 hit different when you play with your friends
i’m 14 and this is the first game i played on the xbox it was the xbox one s in 2016 man the nostalgia my first game was skylanders who remembers skylanders?
this specific variant of the game embodied the happiest moments of my life; i've never missed something this badly
Oh man why do I miss 360 days so much and Minecraft I always just had fun with my old worlds and I won’t forget about all of the memories it was just fun
Xbox 360 version of Minecraft is really the edition that introduced me to the world of Minecraft and the nostalgia for this for me is off the charts. I still see myself playing Minecraft for years to come, no matter the version
