Fisher had a rough time trying to make it on the world stage. He ran into Smith then when smith retired Brands was in his weight then after that is was Kolat. He always was in a weight where the best guy in the world was from the U.S..
Said many times that I think Fisher was the best American wrestler ever to not make a World Team. There were definitely a few years when he was the 2nd best wrestler in the world. 1992 was one of them.
Fish.. the best US wrestler to never make the senior US team... Badass AF. Much respect

Awesome!
That was a best 2 out of 3 series correct?
Yes. Smith won the series, obviously. But the deciding match was extremely controversial.
@@CoachesCornerWrestling-ue9mt do you have the other match videos?
I wonder if John Fisher is still involved with wrestling? A great competitor who ran into a few all time greats on his way to world or Olympic teams.
@@jhamp81 Unfortunately I do not.
@@CoachesCornerWrestling-ue9mt oh well, I subscribed anyway. Thanks for the great content!
John Smith ended up beating this individual two times
Very true. But, damn, I think beating him once is a pretty massive accomplishment.
