They say that Fadzaev never wrestled till he was 16 yrs old, and he would ONLY workout 3 months a year as he hated working out. He drove his coaches nuts but he was incredibly talented using basic solid techniq.

Andre finally takes a shot at 5:45.
Won two NCAA titles without taking a single leg attack.

you have to respect his willingnes to upper body work which is rare to US wrestlers. Same as Adam Saytiev who said that he cant make leg attacks. Wish Americans have better coaches for upper body work.

My last name is Metzger, and I'm ~90 minutes from Bloomington, Indiana. That's crazy!

In the '72 Olympics no one scored a point on Dan Gable. I wonder if Fadzaev can match that.

Osamu Watanabe of Japan was undefeated in over 300 matches. He didn't give up a single point in 186 international matches including the 1964 Olympics. A guy I wrestled with in college met him at a camp, and told me the guy was a chain smoker.

Fadzayev hasn’t lost a single point to his opponents for five years straight in local and international tournaments and championships. For that record Fadzayev was the first wrestler in the world who was awarded with “the golden shoe” award by FILA federation, if America wouldn’t forbid USSR athletes to participate in the 1984 Olympics, Fadzayev would definitely be a three times Olympic champion.
