Absolute gold mine dude Iβm just getting into the industry and I feel prepared just by watching general videos
Just finished your serve safe playlist! loved it appreciate your content man π€π€
Iβm editing chapter 7 now and am going to mush 8-9 together. Sorry for the delay
I worked as a cake decorator and the manager would openly criticize my work in front of my coworkers even though she was well aware this was my very first cake decor job and went to the general manager and told him that Iβm not making quota.. the manager failed to mention to me that I even had a quota to meet when I started..and I ultimately left after the manager went off on me in front of my coworkers and told me to get out..all because I stopped working for a minute to talk to a coworker which is something everyone did all the time..but because it was me thatβs why she went off and kicked me out
Im literally shaking my head lol. I wonder how some people got into their positions
The funniest excuse you will hear is, βThis isnβt the last restaurant you worked at!β¦. This is how we do it here!ββ¦. When actually there is an exact way to do everything!β¦. Itβs basically a standardized way of everything, and there is exact ways that everything should be done!β¦. Restaurants were basically been perfected decades ago!β¦. A 3rd size, 4 inch deep, stainless steel hotel pan is not a βSmall pan that this, or that goes in!β¦. It actually has a specific title!β¦. Everyone should know at least basic kitchen lingo!β¦. (And btw!β¦. Cottage cheese is awesome in lasagna!β¦. π¦)β¦. π
One thing I've been dealing with lately is someone not wanting to be trained! We have standardized recipes and a binder that displays the exact way the dish should be plated and on what plate but this cook either has a hearing problem or doesn't care. Always telling me about how he was a catering lead and worked at x and z restaurants blah blah blah. I don't care, doesn't ask how to do things and when I show him it's as if it goes right over his head.
Iβve actually brought this up before itβs those people that say yeah I know I know I know LOL
