I used to live in a group home when I was homeless in my teens (bad time). I showed one of the staff this video and she was so confused she was speechless. She hated it. Thus it became our personal Rick Roll and I tortured her with this song, lol.
10:57 Smokey, my eternal thanks for being there to say what I could not They also have another song "Kitty" and they've said that, despite the double entendres in both, the meanings of both songs are very surface level Joining the rally cry for a reaction to Lump and subsequently, the Weird Al version Gump
The lead singer/bassist has a second career as a children's musician here in the PNW. Christopher Ballew performs and records as a children's artist under the pseudonym Caspar Babypants. He has 19 albums!
Oh man P.U.S.A....they were so unique, and minimalist...one string bass, 2 string guitar, a snare drum, a bass drum, the hi-hats, and tiny splash cymbals. Great vocals, and harmonies.
You picked a fine time to leave me Lucille.... with 4 hungry children and a crop in the field I've had some bad times...lived through some sad times This time your hurtin' won't heal... you picked a fine time to leave me Lucille! I was born in the 70s and all I was able to listen to for YEARS was country..... I know these songs! 😂
You can't go wrong with peaches and ninjas!!!!!!! POTUS is such an underrated band...my favorites are "Kitty" ( I have always been a dog owner) and "Back Porch"!!!!!
Renegades have a song out you might want to checkout. It’s called Love’s Healing by Wynand Fourie featuring the Renegades. It’s has been made to help cheer Ren up while he recovers.
If memory serves me correctly, Peaches was "the follow up" song after Lump was the initial hit that broke the band. PotUSA also had two other (very) mild 'hits' with Volcano and Mach 5...which are both actually good rock songs, and definitely worth checking out.
Thank you!!!!! Mach 5 is such a great tune, and never got the love it deserved, I mean the whole album is pretty solid, but Mach 5 is one of those permanent songs on my play list..lol.
surprisingly underrated band. "Lump" may have been their "biggest hit" but "cleveland rocks" was the theme song to the Drew Carey show. I honestly love everything they do. Mach 5, Dune Buggy, Peaches, Lump, all solid gold
After bout a week of seeing each other.. my now girlfriend stopped in the parking lot on the way into some store and asked, totally deadpanned, if I knew if peaches came in a can.. i was so stunned I... like an idiot.. said huh?.. to which she said... yeah.. they were put there by a man.. I had no chance after that
Great, great band! ♥ ... I have all of their vinyls/records which were hard to get ... at least for me in Germany. Love this guys and their songs! You can't go wrong with PUSA.
So many great songs off their first album! They also do a great cover of Video Killed The Radio Star... I think it was part of the soundtrack for The Wedding Singer
This song came out when I was in kindergarten, and I've been rocking out since. I didn't notice the double entendre until high school though. 😅 I prefer soft peaches. I haven't put salt on or cayenne on fruit before, but it sounds tasty. This was a great video, thanks!
Fun little personal history moment here: I was getting ready to walk across town to go to work at Burger King when this video premiered on MTV. I laughed so hard I was crying and when I got to work everyone thought I was blazed up 😆 Also, at least for their first three records pretty much every song is a banger. You wouldn't think that would be the case with how silly they are, but them are the straight facts. A handful of really great songs from their second album (which most people never heard) are Bath of Fire, L.I.P. and Puffy Little Shoes. They really are a fun band to get into as you never know what's around the next corner.
My favorite peach is a tree ripened freestone peach warm from the sun. I used to work as picker at a peach orchard when I was a teenager and I ate a bunch of peaches and apricots everyday and I’d listen to this song while picking.
randomly, this album was the first CD i ever owned lol. i only really remember this song and their biggest hit "Lump", but i definitely remember listening to the album a LOT since for a while it was the only one i had lol.
This song was so random. Lol it lead to me randomly singing "millions of peaches, peaches for me. Millions of peaches, peaches for free." Over and over again quietly to myself.
My favorite PUSA song🤘🏼 This song is about the fruit. Absolutely not about anything else. I'm actually serious. There's nothing sexual about this song, whatsoever. Sometimes songs are literal. No sexual innuendo needed for this song to be amazing.
Love the song, hell the whole album. I own a signed copy. To the "who do you admire" question, I thought I'd chime in because you Georgians might appreciate, I admire Michael stipe for his artistic talent and his willingness to be open with who he is, even if that goes against the grain. REM have been my favorite band since I was about 14 and really helped evolve my personal and political sense
Over a hundred comments and I couldn't find one that included the song "Volcano"! Maybe I'm biased, because I live in St Helens. But it's a rocker for sure!
I’m proud to say hat once again my Spotify wrapped had Tech at #1, at 3 days listened too, and in the top .05%. Of his listeners. So as a white Technician in his 40’s, who still thinks Midwest Choppers 2 was the best version in that 4-pack, I appreciate’chu homie.
They were definitely a "silly" type band, attitude wise, but I don't think they were doing a parody, but regardless they rocked big time!! My favorite song by them is Mach 5, with Kitty being a close second. Great reactions guys, as always!!
Kenny Rogers had so many hits, and the only songs people do are the couple songs everyone does. It is so weird. Most of these are hit songs of Kenny Rogers, if not all. The first couple of songs was when he was in the band First Edition. Do these and you won't be disappointed. Kenny Rogers likes the strip club. When Kenny Rogers gets high, he can't leave the girls alone. Those are in some of his songs. Kenny was active in music for 61 years with probably over 500 songs. These are his hits. Do them all! Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Was In) The First Edition The First Edition
3:22 Shine on Ruby Mountain Kenny Rogers & The First Edition Tell It All, Brother
2:56 Love Woman Kenny Rogers & The First Edition Tell It All, Brother
2:46 We All Got to Help Each Other Kenny Rogers & The First Edition Tell It All, Brother
Their biggest hit was Lump, which Weird Al parodied with his version Gump. Actually should check out both!!!
"Lump" by POTUSA was a bigger hit, I believe. Fun band.
Song jams hard
'All the little chicks with the crimson lips say CLEVELAND ROCKS! CLEVELAND ROCKS!"
They did the theme song to the Drew Carey Show.
Wasn't "Peaches" the follow up hit of "Lump".
Lump is the way to go!!
Wierd al even did a parody of it
With grunge, ska, alternative music, and gangsta rap, the 90s were the best decade in my nearly 50 years.
Kitty,
Dune buggy,
Naked & Famous.
Yes! Dune Buggy! We're Not Gonna Make it is underrated too
@@derekjf4311 The whole album is a classic. Worth as many play-thrus as possible.
I used to live in a group home when I was homeless in my teens (bad time). I showed one of the staff this video and she was so confused she was speechless. She hated it. Thus it became our personal Rick Roll and I tortured her with this song, lol.

Absolutely LOVE this tune… what a blast from the past!! That complete tempo change is top bins..❤❤❤
The lead singer/bassist has a second career as a children's musician here in the PNW. Christopher Ballew performs and records as a children's artist under the pseudonym Caspar Babypants. He has 19 albums!
Caspar Babypants saved my life (as a new parent).
Oh man P.U.S.A....they were so unique, and minimalist...one string bass, 2 string guitar, a snare drum, a bass drum, the hi-hats, and tiny splash cymbals. Great vocals, and harmonies.
Actually they were a 2 string bass and a 3 string guitar.
Haha it's been awhile.
@@jindas4217 it's all good, but you definitely were correct on them going the minimalist route.
I just never remembered.I saw this ben live in the nineties, woo hoo.😋
I never knew that before. Interesting
Another fire Seatle band, there was so much to listen to back then!
You picked a fine time to leave me Lucille.... with 4 hungry children and a crop in the field
I've had some bad times...lived through some sad times
This time your hurtin' won't heal... you picked a fine time to leave me Lucille!
I was born in the 70s and all I was able to listen to for YEARS was country..... I know these songs! 😂
I want to say thank you for putting forth such a good song.
Back Porch and Kitty are great songs too!
You can't go wrong with peaches and ninjas!!!!!!! POTUS is such an underrated band...my favorites are "Kitty" ( I have always been a dog owner) and "Back Porch"!!!!!
Kitty is my favourite too. I forgot about Back Porch, thanks for that!
Meow, meow, meow, meow, meow. Meow, meow!
YAY! My first time catching you LIVE...and I LOVE this track, can't wait to see what you guys think 🎉❤
They were a satirical band. I thought they were funny as a teen and jammed them along with metal, just like Weird Al, lol.
Kick out the jams was another good one they covered
💯♥️🇦🇺
Renegades have a song out you might want to checkout. It’s called Love’s Healing by Wynand Fourie featuring the Renegades. It’s has been made to help cheer Ren up while he recovers.
Fantastic band! Great music, unique, quirky awesomeness. ❤ More please!
My absolute favorite thing about this song is that it is in no way a metaphor. It's literally about eating peaches.
I'm Hip Hop 100% through and through........but this, THIS IS MY MFING JAM!💯
This whole album f ING rocks!! Love potusoa 😊
If memory serves me correctly, Peaches was "the follow up" song after Lump was the initial hit that broke the band.

Thank you!!!!! Mach 5 is such a great tune, and never got the love it deserved, I mean the whole album is pretty solid, but Mach 5 is one of those permanent songs on my play list..lol.
Many roadtrips with this CD on repeat were taken.
Man, I had this album (on cassette). Wore that sucker out. Such an awesome group.
lived in my tape deck for ever
The whole album is innuendo with songs like kitty, dune buggies, and naked and famous, that one was strait forward what it ment
Smoke is correct about "Lucille"! It's a great song; Kenny Rogers was such a good storyteller.
Also, I loved this whole album. Full of silly bangers.
I love this album. Kitty was a hit and also Lump
Request Please The Presidents Of The United States Of America - Kitty
These guys did a free Fourth of July show at gasworks park in Seattle about a decade ago. Pretty cool of them to do.
I'm glad you guys told me on the Facebook group that this video won and thank you again.
surprisingly underrated band. "Lump" may have been their "biggest hit" but "cleveland rocks" was the theme song to the Drew Carey show. I honestly love everything they do. Mach 5, Dune Buggy, Peaches, Lump, all solid gold
This song is so catchy!
What a blast from the past - wow
after a couple of (german) beers I always think this is one of the best songs ever written
Lump is another classic.
I had no chance after that
Ooo, please react to Lump! I don't remember the video for Peaches but the song was played a lot on the radio.
I remember this song from mtv and always enjoyed the melody and tongue in cheek nature of it. So catchy too.
This whole album was a blast!!
Reverend Horton Heat - Psychobilly Freakout
I've been trying to get a request of Hortons song the devil's chasing me for awhile now. I don't think they've ever done his music
These guys were fun and had several songs that hit the radio. Entertaining band.
Gotta do Lump next! You might know that too.
I haven't heard this song and eons. Such a great song.
Hell yeah. I loved this album. 😂
They did a gig at Mount Rushmore for MTV many years ago, was great. Fantastic band, always have been
Haha this is gonna be stuck in my head all day now!!! Millions of peaches peaches for me millions of peaches peaches for free.........😂😂😂
Body was their best song, legitimate banger
Saw them in concert...of course it was a blast!
Daaaaang. Those trivia questions were hard! I only got the first one, 1976 for the Doobie Brothers releasing “Takin’ It To The Streets” ❤
I just now remembered I saw this band live in the nineties, woo hoo.😋
Great, great band! ♥ ... I have all of their vinyls/records which were hard to get ... at least for me in Germany. Love this guys and their songs! You can't go wrong with PUSA.
I already liked this because i simply assume i will... What can go wrong? Murphy's law is BS!
So many great songs off their first album! They also do a great cover of Video Killed The Radio Star... I think it was part of the soundtrack for The Wedding Singer
This song came out when I was in kindergarten, and I've been rocking out since. I didn't notice the double entendre until high school though. 😅
I prefer soft peaches. I haven't put salt on or cayenne on fruit before, but it sounds tasty.
This was a great video, thanks!
Their song “Boll Weevil” is one of my favorites; good driving jam.

We moved to the country out in nowheresville in East Texas back in 2002, and the lack of peach abundance is still a sore spot for me.
Everyday I was waiting for this one on MTV 😂😊
Damn! Now I'm gonna have to dig out this album and give it a listen again. It's been years but such a good record!
My favorite peach is a tree ripened freestone peach warm from the sun. I used to work as picker at a peach orchard when I was a teenager and I ate a bunch of peaches and apricots everyday and I’d listen to this song while picking.
“Lump” is my favorite of theirs. 😊
randomly, this album was the first CD i ever owned lol. i only really remember this song and their biggest hit "Lump", but i definitely remember listening to the album a LOT since for a while it was the only one i had lol.
The Presidents always wrote hilarious stuff. The Singer Chris Ballew now does childrens songs under the pseudonym Casper Babypants
My childhood heroes were my Dad and Howard Cosell. It's because of Howard Cosell I became a radio DJ and Sports Broadcaster
This song was so random. Lol it lead to me randomly singing "millions of peaches, peaches for me. Millions of peaches, peaches for free." Over and over again quietly to myself.
My favorite PUSA song🤘🏼
This song is about the fruit. Absolutely not about anything else. I'm actually serious. There's nothing sexual about this song, whatsoever. Sometimes songs are literal. No sexual innuendo needed for this song to be amazing.
Boll weevil!
This is the anthem my hubby and I had for our house build 😀

you have to give credit to 90s rock radio, they were willing to take chances
Fun fact! The lead singer writes children's books, and has had many go number one on the best seller list!!
such a great tune
this came out when i was in grade six. imagine how popular it was.
You might know Lump, it was a huge hit
Sir Mix-a-Lot and fellow Seattle mates
Presidents collaborated on some kind of musical project a few years ago.
One word describes this song: EPIC
Damn I had forgotten all about this , lol!
Over a hundred comments and I couldn't find one that included the song "Volcano"! Maybe I'm biased, because I live in St Helens. But it's a rocker for sure!
Loving the Heilung shirt. Saw them last year
Love this song
the silliest song and video about nothing.. that will get stuck in your head for days.. i approve...
It was a different time. The music artists and industry had more fun back then.
My gf suggested I read Under The Dome and I listened to the audio book a few months ago. So fucking good!
Love the sublime shirt
Oh I might be 3 hours late, but I'm here!!! LOOKOUT!!! 🔥
The singer of thos band use to be roommates with the singer of Morphine. Which is who helped him set up his unusual gear he plays.
I haven’t heard this is so long! I liked them back in the day. They were a nice break from “serious” music of the grunge era
There's a song by the Electronica duo Lemon Jelly called The Fruity Track that samples this heavily. It's well worth listening to.
LOL im native american and our grand parents always say that if you eat fruit with salt, your in-laws will not like you hahaha
That's so kool that your mom read you Stephen King books hollywood! Love that❤
Kitty by POTUSA

Great video 👍 This group reminds me of 10cc 😊
If you guys had fun watching this video, you should check out the video for "Prehistoric Dog" by Red Fang. Loads of fun.
you nailed Lucille at the start!!
They were definitely a "silly" type band, attitude wise, but I don't think they were doing a parody, but regardless they rocked big time!! My favorite song by them is Mach 5, with Kitty being a close second. Great reactions guys, as always!!
