Someone named George Maclean did a cover of this song on iTunes and while his voice is no Chino (NOBODY sounds like Chino except Chino) the cover is really damn good and it’s probably the closest thing we will ever get to a remastered version of this song.
its because it was recorded in the same Era, early 90's this sound was their early days, still the vocals over the harsh guitar crunch is 100% deftones.
This is my first time hearing this song and it might be my new favorite Deftones song. Just my luck it’s unreleased. This is beautiful, Chino’s voice sounds so different here
while we're diving into the deep, dark ocean of early deftones, i'll throw "(like) linus" out there from their early demo album of the same name. good stuff
The influence from Tool was definitely ore palpable in the 90s era deftones. After adrenaline, it seemed to dissolve. Not to say I don't like their newer records as well...
might be 11 years late, but this is from a demo album that shares the same name of (like) Linus, and yes the songs do share the same kind of vibe and actually include some early renditions of a few songs off of adrenaline.
are the A and B - or as i thought back in the 90s Linus and (like)Linus differences very subtle? i dont notice much just sounds like they recorded it twice.
If they remastered and re-released this I would die a happy death.
Sam Stroberg for real right. makes me remember skating and being 13
It sounds better this way tho, keeping the nostalgia and unrecoverable 90s sound
Imo a remaster might remove the 90s feel

One of my favorite songs by the Deftones....Don't care how old it is....I love It!!!! Chino's voice has always been amazing! 🙂

Awesome tune they do it live shame it's not on an album
I fucking love Deftones!
I would have liked to see more of the bass at 1:55. Maybe drop the jumpy riff for the verses and use that instead?
Old school. 90s new metal.
The way that Chino sang some parts of this song sounds a little Kurt Cobain-y XD
That is perfect. Deftones and Nirvana are my exsistance .
Yes. You have an awesome taste in music. (Deftones and Nirvana are definitely my top two bands.)

Best song. Ever. Period. Done.
Tool was my favorite band before I even got into 'Tones and I thought the same thing
Yeah, when you hear Deftones music you learn they are fucking awesome!
If you're looking for vocal influences here I don't think it's Kurt or Maynard; it's HR from Bad Brains and maybe some Morrissey.
I agree. Your assessment is way closer.
