great video! very explanatory. so what brands sell this type of quality furniture? if I go Furniture shopping do I ask them what type coils they use, what is the gauge what is the sofa cushion made out of? what is the frame made out of? will they look at me like I'm crazy?

You are so right . Most merchants don't have a clue as to what's inside their sofa. Which is why I have purchased all my sofas online from manufacturers that explain their sofa construction.

I love this video. Buying a good quality sofa is too expensive for most people. I have read that 8 way hand tied sofas are out dated and that the no sag (zig zag springs) sofa would last as long and would drop the price down by several hundred dollars., Also I read that you can't tell the difference in feel between them. Also I read that if the 8 way hand tied springs needed repair it would cost much more to repair than the zig zag springs. These companies really need to be honest .

Great video! I bought 2 sofas from macys and the arms dont feel well insulated. The couches look great and go great with my decor, but they are just not all that comfortable. I've had them for about 6 months. I hardly use them, but when I do the seat falls sunken in after a 3 hours of tv and dont seam to spring back up. They are leather and I love the style and color, but i feel like I've been had by reviews and macys lol. Could I take them to an upholsterer to hav them add more cushion or do I just need to get 2 new couches :( sad face

thanks for the video! unsure about the part where you see someone tapping the back of the sofa and you see the fabric flapping? is the flapping a good thing or a bad thing?

Laurent Lasnier a bad thing. I does not have support inside. Just the fabric

Thomasville makes great quailty upholstery. The unsung hero in industry is American of High Point.

I have a 28 year old Lazy Boy sofa, loveseat and Queen Ann recliners that we purchased brand new. They have been used a lot but not abused. After all these years, the material was worn out. About 2 months ago, I had the sofa and loveseat reupholstered by a professional. He told me never to get rid of my furniture. He said it was quality. About three years ago, I had the recliners recovered because I wanted a different fabric on them. They still sit good after 28 years. I don’t know if Lazy Boy has held up their standard.
