  • Sequoia has some incredible hikes, but this one may just be the most exhilarating! The Seven Teacups of is an epic waterfall hike in the Sequoia area that has it all - beautiful views, a little scrambling, and plenty of icy pools to plunge into! Highly recommend that anyone visiting the Sequoia and Kern River area check out this Sequoia waterfall hike!

Haha that is well said! And it's funny because I'm not at all a manicured flower-bed kind of guy, but desert wildflowers really get to me. Something about their beauty combined with their will to survive, and of course the fact that so few people get to see them. --A

This was once a “secret spot hike” that most river outfitters on the Forks of the Kern would hike their clients into which I assume they still do. It has also become famous in the extreme kayaking world. There is a story of a NZ kayaker that miscounted the drops and paddled off the last waterfall - free fell and landed upside down between two rocks -one on his stern and the other on the bow. Apparently he survived.

It's our pleasure! The water wasn't too cold at all -- very refreshing. However, not sure if the water will still be flowing much by Labor Day, so you might not have any current at all. @@LiveHardxLoveHard well it is a very easy trail to get to the "pools," but they are more accurately puddles. You can't jump in them or anything. It's just 7 small little pools that cascade down. They are nowhere near as impressive as the teacups. But you do get to see a cool formation called the Devil's Kitchen along the way and since it's Sedona, the trails just go on forever with all of the spurs so you can make the hike as long or as short as you want. My wife and I will be there in the winter as well! Sedona is awesome in November.
