60+ years of camping in Kings Canyon. Not many changes in all that time except we hardly see rangers anymore. They were a real plus and kept people from abusing the canyon. Camp happy and take care of our national parks. ❤️
Well that’s another reason I dislike national parks and monuments. I remember being shocked there’s no real national parks in New York. One guy I read about said he views national parks as tourist traps for rich people to bring in money but not conserve the areas. In New York they have easements etc but land is still private. In Utah for instance they confined to shut down public land and environmentalists basically want all the public land tk be monuments and parks. Look at canyon lands in Utah. They just added a new monument next to it and trying to make another one on the other side of it. It’s sad. Recreation monuments or areas also are horrible! If you read the legislation it makes metal detecting illegal. There’s huge retired groups of people that love to metal detect for recreation. It’s pretty sad. My grandpa runs cows out by an area they want to make wilderness which makes no sense as there’s lots of roads and we need the roads to maintain water troughs in the desert to provide water over like thirty miles. Elk and antelope and wild horses also use the water. It’s crazy. Oh anyways my point was is leave public lands as public lands. Adding more monuments and parks leads to more tourism and that leads to more trash etc. Tourism is good for the government that collects tickets and charges to use some camp sites but I love the multi use simple stuff of public land that’s just public land. But for reals when I lived back east it’s sad. No real national parks.
Like I honestly would have thought they would have made national parks in every state east of Colorado as the government had the power and money to make parks in every state to conserve land. Or at the very least they could make national monuments in every state cause then land would be public but still open to hunting. National parks are closed to hunting but not monuments.
We just came back form our camping trip to Princess Campground (3 years in a row on that one). Its always a great place to be (clean, and quiet. Perfect spot)
Great video showing Kings Canyon. We haven't been in a few years but are looking at possibly heading back this summer so this really helped. I think people forget that it exists because you are right, Yosemite and even Sequoia are always so packed.
Kings Canyon is my favorite place to camp. Was just there last wkend with my wife and oldest 2 daughters and we jumped off Muir Rock quite a few times into the Kings. So much fun and the water feels amazing. The hike to Mist Falls out of Roads End is also one of the most scenic and fun hikes I have done. Great place to explore! Thanks for the video.
I was there the same weekend, love it. It’s way better than Yosemite. Went there 4 different times this year camping. Labor Day the water at Hume lake was perfect. It sucks that a lot of the park closes for winter. The Ice cream shop is great
We were always able to just show up at Sentinel and camp weekend to weekend. Not anymore, sadly. Reservations are made and half the campsites remain empty.......
Hello, Love your video of Kings Canyon, Sequoia area . Do you remember the camp # at Sentinel Campground. We been wanting to visit that area south of Yosemite. Looking forward to your other outdoor adventures.
Beautiful! I miss the camping in Oregon so much. Its gorgeous just like Kings Canyon. I live in Tennessee now and its so humid I don't even want to go outside 🙃 It really sucks, because I was a camper my whole life... Thanks for the video Chanty! 💕
@Chanty Marie, you don't want to lay a tarp down under your tent, because if it rains, water would get trapped between your tent & tarp and cause leakage, so ya did yourself a favor by forgetting it..Happy camping
Cool! Love the video. Thanks for showing Princess Campground location. FYI. If you use Verizon you get signal other phone carrier doesn't get signal hence no WIFI's :/
Way scarier creatures up there then bears heard sounds that we still can't figure out what is was. I would never stay in a tent . It near Grant Grove .
Those roads up to the sequoia trees are absolutely treacherous. I'm glad I saw them but I'll never drive up those again. 9,000 feet with a two inch margin of error on each side of the road.

Have fun!! ☺️
@@ChantyMarieVlogs Thanks - We did!!

Thanks!! I have the same tent! Been trying to get out there since 2018--grrr
Looks beautiful. Living vicariously through you watching
Ahhh thank you so much!! ☺️☺️
Great video and thank you for putting the campsite names/numbers by the way- super helpful :)
See that note on the sign @ 4:35 about the rattlesnakes? THAT'S REAL! Nearly stepped on one last summer, felt like I jumped out of my skin.
Omg!! That’s terrifying!
Great camping vlog, keep going.😍
Would it be possible to drive at that particular spot where you have your tent set up? I have a roof top tent.
the first site? I'm not sure because there was a paved spot for a car then it sloped downwards
I love all of your outfits! Can you share some links of your hat/long sleeve shirt?
Yes they are both from Amazon! I’ll put it in the description!
Love kings canyon ❤
I don't know if someone already asked but where was that sick swim spot after your bear encounter?
It was right across/ near the parking lot at roads end! I don’t know what it’s called though
Your hat is too cute ☺️ and can’t wait for part two. Get to do this in October 👍
Love you guys video 👍
All the comforts of home

Good video, thanks for sharing
That water was 🔥
Your absolutely right Yosemite s aways crowded and cramped kings canyon isn't nor Sequoia
Way scarier creatures up there then bears heard sounds that we still can't figure out what is was. I would never stay in a tent . It near Grant Grove .
Kings Canyon is well known to have that stuff
Waiting for part 2
What camping site # did you guys stay in? It looms beautiful
# 57
During the fires, the firemen said they were having trouble fighting the fire because of the terrain...Kings Canyon is deeper than the Grand Canyon.
Those roads up to the sequoia trees are absolutely treacherous. I'm glad I saw them but I'll never drive up those again. 9,000 feet with a two inch margin of error on each side of the road.
What site is this?
How full was that campground? Seems awfully empty.
It was pretty empty
@@ChantyMarieVlogs Hold on, what month were you there? And why couldn't you get another night if it was so empty?
love video
Hello… I don’t know if you mentioned it, but can you help me with the name of the first campsite? Thank you :)
