Daniel on a night out, meets someone, things are going well. Bring them home, they walk into the bedroom and see no personal possessions, just a camera, lights, and a bed...
"It's not what you think!"
😂 Great video though Daniel. Thanks so much for taking the time and explaining things clearly. I'm sure it helped lots of people. You're doing great work. 👍🏻
Yes! The light settings is KEY! I have a Canon m50 and currently setting up my studio in a small room. Thank you!
Man this channel is an absolute gold mine, I’ve been watching countless video tutorial channels and I thought I had seen it all but after watching yours it has managed to fill in some big gaps in knowledge. Thankyou.
This is what youtube was supposed to be from the beginning. Short videos(of course when not making it for educational purposes). To the point. No drama.
you have a beautiful setup man. Nice, clean, tidy and not absurdly filled. Gotta do something like this for my own videos. I think I am gonna buy some lights for sure tomorrow. And see if the rest of the stuff comes in my current budget. Thanks for this swift video man! Cheers.
Most important thing, no B-Roll sh*t.
Go for the godox SL60W if you don’t mind the fan noise! Way cheaper than the 120D
This is not what RUclips was ever meant to be and if you think that, you're an idiot. RUclips was meant to be a way for people to show off their own content, which is exactly what people do. Prior to RUclips, the only way to do it was to go to your local cable access TV station, which often required fees and training. The thing about RUclips, like any TV station is it allows people to watch what they want. Funny thing, if you find the content "stupid" or "annoying" you don't have to watch it. You don't even have to see it in your recommendations if you don't want.
Caleb's videos are super helpful for rookies. I'm glad you mentioned him, Daniel. You two are real players
I’ve been waiting for this video man! Can’t wait to watch it, I have an aperture 120d for my RUclips vids so hopefully this will tell me the best angle for it :) anyways keep it up man!
The only video of Daniel without a cap! // That set up is sophisticated. I only rely on natural light because it's what I can afford (lol). By winter I aim to get some lights! Thank you for this guide!
fascinating to hear the reasoning behind each decision. Optimal results and efficiency. Power cords for monitors, rugs and panels for sound dampening, iso to light balance. you put a lot of thought behind your set up and its the reason why your videos come out looking buttery good. Thanks Daniel for sharing!!!
I LOVE these kinds of videos, thanks for sharing your setup. Great tip about aiming the shotgun mic!
I absolutely LOVE LOVE every single video you've posted!
I always learn at least two new things.
Thanks a lot!
Definitely appreciate you sharing those numbers for camera settings and light. Gives me an excellent base to experiment off of! Great content Daniel. Keep it up and thanks! This is a channel worth being subscribed to.
Loving these behind the scenes videos, would love to see a video on how you run your business 👊🏻
Yes please! I would love to see what you do to run your business. I am trying to start one myself and would love pointers from someone who has accomplished what I am aiming to do.
ya business workflow would be interesting

Super awesome look behind the scenes - thanks so much for taking the time to make. Many of us are in awe of the amazing content you produce and it is super interesting to see how you do it, the things you use, and actually makes it not as daunting a challenge as it first seems. Thanks Daniel - love your channel and your content 🤣
1:42 Daniel listing acoustics problems: "Rooms with a bunch of walls". ...yeah man, I feel ya.
I'm thinking of rearranging my "studio" and this is very useful! Specially the part about the lighting. Thanks, Daniel!
You have such an awesome setup! I love how you change your background color with the LED light!
Omg that last light percentage part was so adorable.
As always AMAZING video !!
Your vids have been especially on point lately sharing the iso aperture etc, it really helps us who are “novices” gauge ourselves against someone who is successful in video creation and see if we are on point or off path. Thanks again man huge inspiration as always keep making them vidz 🤘
Glad you enjoyed! Thanks for watching, Dominic.
Awesome man. Always love seeing how other youtubers have their stuff setup!
Glad you enjoyed uncle!
Ohhh, I really want to have a bedroom like yours, I read about you on your channel's homepage, and in my opinion, you deserve it ,,
You must have gone through a long journey, brother. I just started my you tube channel, and i know my journey still long long long in order i can make my dream come true like you.
Stay grounded brother, and always gratefull
God bless you
Nice to see you🙏🙏
West kalimantan, Indonesia🇮🇩
Daniel, this is very generous of you to share all this info. Keep up the great work!
This dude is so dope with his work. Another great content value.
Never watched even a single video of ur channel
As soon as I opened this video I subscribed it 🤣❤
Coz it looks like got a good content and after watching the first 5 seconds. The quick edit was just mindblowing
I got the Aputure 120D light because of this video. Thank you for making videos Daniel.
Thank you so much for these tips, specifically the camera settings. I guess if you crank up the ISO while reducing the key light output, the background comes out nicely and your face is not overexposed so it’s all beautifully balanced in the shot. Need to try this out asap! Great stuff!
Appreciate so much for sharing Daniel!!!
Although an old vid, a helpful one! Thanks for the tips, brother. We're just starting and this was helpful to see behind the scenes. Plus, always great to see a fellow Ontarian do well on the RUclipss! :)
Love how you compared the lighting in the video! Thanks for that! :) I'm experimenting a lot myself with that at the moment in my vlog! :)
Good breakdown! Good to know what goes in!
Love seeing the setup! It's always helpful to see how people with great looking videos achieve it. Thank you :)
Love seeing setup videos, less about the gear and more about just the behind the scenes. I’ve always loved behind the scenes content, even as a kid. Probably what inspired me to wok in the film industry to begin with. Doesn’t matter about the production, big or small, set stuff is cool stuff in my opinion.
Great video Daniel, I enjoyed it.
PS: I have the light box 2, it’s amazing..fully setup in 2 mins. Collapse in 30 seconds. EDIT Typo's
I agree, watching setup videos is super entertaining- I can only hope I did it justice!
@@danielschiffer You did! Speaking for myself, I enjoyed it! A closet full of gear, I know that feeling lol.
@@danielschiffer Searching for lot of videos how to setup a studio................... Finally something useful. Thanks @Daniel
man, totally jealous of your setup, I've grown to really enjoy your channel brother! keep killing it
Thanks for the tour into your studio. I’m working on setting something up in my room as well and I appreciate the demonstration and tips.
Loved the video, man! Got me thinking about a possible future setup, and gave me some info to watch out for! Thanks!
Always good to see how others do this. I’d consider acoustic panels rather than that foam though. It has better properties for treating a room and when you move it’s easily transferred to a new RUclips studio! That led light is super cool
Thankful for this, just what we need it! And the fact that its staright to the point. Thank you!
终于更新了! Can't wait to watch!
Thanks for the different view of your RUclips setup. It has been extremely helpful. Wish you the best with your channel and anything you do.
Super good, loved the detail about iso and light intensity.
Thank you I’ve been waiting for this video!! 🙌🏽
Glad you enjoyed 😁
Awesome content I always love seeing behind the scenes thanks so much for the advice I’ll implement this on my next vlog
Absolutely One of RUclips's Best! Be well, keep making Videos, and stay Encouraged Daniel!

I can't tell why but your Videos are every time interesting for me! Good Job!

Absolutely wonderful video ❤️❤️
Super helpful video, Daniel! Thank you!
This was super helpful!! Love your videos!! Keep it up!
Thank you for sharing this. Very nice studio setup.
I like that you showed that you can have a studio anywhere. Your carved out a great corner in your room. Nice video.
Great! Thanks for sharing these useful examples!
Great work as always, Daniel! Please make more videos about audio and mics . Congrats from Brazil.
I really love your content! very useful! Keep it up and keep inspiring us :)
I'm watching this is 2021, and man I've learned a lot from you to get started myself.. Thanks man!
Building my creative space atm. Right video @ right time. Thanks dude!
Very nicely done Dan. I have dropped 2 videos on building my studio and i am still getting to the lighting. Exciting to see the bts of someone else's studio.
Really appreciate you sharing this. This is nice to really see. The BTS is always the fun stuff.
It's nice to know that such a successful youtuber still makes his videos in his bedroom. Great video!
i have really picked a lot from this video. exactly what i needed all this while. i'm going to transform my room right away! thanks man
Great overview i really enjoyed it. I recently shot a similar video about my studio. It's always fun to watch how other creatives approach to lighting.
Simple but effective. Love it!
The lighting tip really helped. I should try lowering the power and bumping the ISO. I always set the camera at ISO 100 and then bumped the light to 100% expecting it to work great. Thanks for a lovely video and great tip!
Glad you found it helpful buddy!
Same here@@danielschiffer, I always had the iso as low as possible but this video made it clear it is not "best practice". Trying to improve my videos and this tip definitely helped!
Your Guitar Workshop I always try to go for the right motion blur before iso. If my ISO is a little too high, who cares:)
Great vid...Very helpful...Thank you for posting!
Finally a solid video about the BTS in a video or channel! Thank you so much for sharing! Very helpful!
I’m really looking at uping my RUclips game so this helped so much! I mean ALL your videos help but i loved this one
Informative and straight to the point. Awesome. Thanks!

Much awaited!

Thanks a lot...your videos are informative and useful..keep uploading more videos on video techniques.😊👍
Thanks for sharing, am still building my studio, and need to invest on lighting but it doesn’t stop me from making videos for my channel good to know we have same audio gears, classic truth I shoot in my bedroom too and store my gears in my closet.
Excellent to see a small space well used with professional end result.
Lovely. Thank you. Very helpul, clear and to the point.
Quality quality content as always 💕
I'm setting up a new studio to shoot our podcast and this video helped a lot. Thanks man!
