Looking forward to watching this! I felt the doc was very infantalising, anti-sex worker and anti-informed consent and not sex positive. But I'm very familiar with the arguments of porn stars and other sex workers and their ideas about reforming the porn industry so I really appreciated getting the other point of view, personally. I just didn't like that the doc didn't show alternative points of view.
They were basically kids though. I mean, I am not saying that the doc struck me as the whole truth on the matter, but what it depicts should not be anyone's reality.
Wow… I actually remember watching that documentary waaaay way back when I still had Netflix-it was really illuminating seeing this interview, and perceiving the young ladies featured in that more completely beyond just what the documentarians showed us. It’s upsetting (though sadly unsurprising) how their stories and lives were exploited for a very particular purpose, but it was really interesting and encouraging to hear her tell her own story and add important nuance to the conversation. Things like adult content often only get really sensational representation (either great or horrible), and very rarely do we get an honest critique of the grey areas in-between the extremes. Thanks for sharing this great interview-love the work you do!
Documentary was game changer when it was released and unfortunately brutality against women isn't gone. This is why Sex Ed is so important. Otherwise, people learn about sex through violent sex videos online. Ava is a queen 👸
I am sorry that she doesn't realize that sometimes (most) there is just no reason for something to happen and no connection with one's present. The acceptance that things don't happen for a reason is intriguing, but ultimately reality. We have the need to find a reason, and that is valid on itself.
True we do have a need to find reason, and some times that can be good. Even it we know it's really a lie. Like religion can be highly beneficial for the believer, even through he/she is doubting it. The choice itself can have merit and help us in many ways. On the other hand, believing there is no reason or meaning for anything, and no meaning, can also go both ways.
Tressa Silguero (Stella May in HGW) was interviewed about this same topic about a year ago.. might be interesting to hear as well.. ruclips.net/video/m_RCmtk9d74/видео.html
wait... she found her way out of acting and moved on to directing and having choice and are now subjecting *other women* to the stuff she escaped, so that makes it all good? like because SHE got out of it, we have to forget about everyone else?
"There is no one person that doesn't go thru something traumatic..." Yes, there are plenty people in life that just always had it easy. Of course some make a huge drama about a bad hair day, but the concept that everyone goes thru deep shit in their lives is total bs
can someone clarify her position about shadowy republican figures pulling the strings of the hot girls wanted documentary? she says Jones' husband manages a hedge fund but if you google it says he plays in a band. I don't really understand her theory, is there any basis to it? also as an aside what difference would it make if the husband works for a hedge fund?
There is a HUGE push from the so called Christian Right to effective make all porn illegal in the US. So yes anti pornography "activism" or whatever you want to call it is very real and very well funded, and connected to the GOP and this so called documentary is right up that alley.

I have watch her video's then and she's look then not so pleased and now she look like more happy and accepted her self. and her answer was pretty much intelligent. and in terms of the host you was shocked to hear some of her thoughts I know 😉. and to keep it short and simple I will say "Wild nature is part of us" we just hypocrites as a society about our real desire and stuff. which in the old greek time they just know what they are in a sense. So... we just need to grow again from open directions and do a lot of meditation because other wise we are all nuts :)
The trick to porn is not doing it. Why was Rachel unable to figure that out at 18 years of age? Billions of other 18 year-olds found it easy to understand that getting paid to have sex in videos that will be uploaded to the internet is a shit idea, so they didn’t do it.
@@whoisthispianist194 what does this comment do for you? Getting satisfaction from being judgemental and condescending is something most of us have learned how not to do, at whatever age
@ firstly, do you honestly think you’re not a judgemental person? Are you telling me you never make judgements? I’m here to tell you that you actually judge people every day. You won’t fly on an airline that doesn’t have a good reputation. You will avoid trusting people if you know they cannot be trusted. You’re glad some people are in jail - you don’t want dangerous criminals steeling your stuff or harming you or your loved ones. Am I right? Secondly, the purpose of my comment is not to be condescending, it’s to be clear. There are many people who are trying to persuade others that doing porn is a good idea - I’m not one of them. There are very few people who have done it that don’t sincerely regret it later, particularly when they become parents or want to get a job outside the adult industry.
Lack empathy skills much? Clearly you didn’t listen to the interview or pay attention or else you would have heard what she had to say about it and could understand her frame of mind better
@ as if there has ever been a good reason to do porn! She could have done just about any other job, now that she has done porn almost every employer will fire her on the spot the moment they find out, her parents will be devastated, and her children might accidentally watch her doing explicit acts with strangers. Great life choice!
She is very well spoken but also very incorrect and I think that comes from her immaturity and her inability to take accountability for *her* decisions. Right wing republicans didn’t make her do porn, Catholics do not want eye candy, the patriarchy isn’t out to get her. She’s running from herself because she cannot accept who she is and what she did and be ok with it. I do commend her for talking about it but it’s neither the truth nor an enriching conversation when _everyone else_ is to blame. I know plenty of people who grew up poor and in bad situations who *_never even considered porn_* which is a vast majority of the planet. My question is _why is she uncomfortable with the fact that she sold her body for money and why did she see it as a viable way to get money when there were other options_ I am sure once she answers that *truthfully* to herself she’ll begin to heal. I honestly wish her the best.
ah god! this woman is full of contradictions! imagine if journalists had to keep up with ALL their subjects!!! they had a job to produce a docu about your job! would it be rational for them to expect you or your agent to go and comfort them for expriencing /witnessing so much violence?! or pay for the therapy they had to take after the work was over? and also, why do you talk about doing an honest real job as such an inconvenience? most of the adult population on the planet is doing it and we are not complaining. or dont go take our cloths off for the world. and also, be sure the bf who is so "understanding" and "supportive" about your only f** thing, is only ok with it because you most def. pick up the bills. or at least do not expect him to pay your epxpences. try quitting and you will see that he makes an excuse to get out of the relationship. don,t be fooled by yet another man.... And also you keep going on about how catholicism thought you to look for validation from men, but then you spent a good 5-10 minutes of a 70 minute interview explaining how his validation and acceptance of your past helped you overcome it. and also yes, anyone who gets a scholarship/grant for a course at a college or university MUST meet the social/ moral/ political requirements of the sponsor. Imagine if all the ppl who receive sports scholarships would be shocked if their school asked them to maintain a good diet, lifestyle and training to stay fit for the duration of their studies at the college. yes, an athlete would be dropped by the organisation that has provided the funds if they tweet things that are not compatible with their social guidelines. and also imagine again if all the ppl who received scholarships/sponsorship expected the financial providers to keep in touch with them... grow up
