Been slipping into depression the last few days and found Douglas’ podcast on Spotify. Now I’m here. I am feeling better already. Felt like I was in the garden with you both, talking like old friends. I ‘m going tto implement the 4 pillars to support my mental health. Thank you so much ❤

I've found that spending time around the wrong people is what starts bringing me back down. There negative attitude really hooks onto me. I'm left very lonely and have been for some time, I keep giving people from the past another go only to stumble again. It's proving very difficult to find people on my wavelength, with my values and interests. I'm convinced I need to up and move away from this whole area in order to find "my tribe" and feel I'm wasting precious years of my life stuck in the wrong place.

Have you thought about joining A support group? There you will find like-minded people

You both have a lot to be proud of. It takes massive strength to make it through the dark times. Resilience is made through the darkness. I don’t think you can always say you are done and this is where positive self talk and motivation help too even if you need support people to give you a push. I think consistency is the key, I think protecting your peace and being vigilant are very important. Thanks for sharing and to you Douglas thanks for being an inspiration with your videos, they have been helpful to me and I appreciate them more than you know. I agree exercise has helped me so much. I recommend this as one of the important things in the wellbeing toolkit. Exercise can just start small, like a walk around the block if you are able to. Whatever you are able or can do helps.

The self-management reminder is pertinent. Thanks. Without black and white thinking it is easier to be compassionate with yourself. I've taken one good step in self-management this morning by listening to you guys. Thank you.

Hi Doug, I've just come across your channel and so glad I found it. It's been a massive help - thank you. Can I ask- what was the medication you were referring to when you said it felt as though it was stitching your brain back together?

It is called Seroquel. It is a mood stabilizer but it is also used for anxiety and sleep

I suffer from depression and anxiety , and I would recommend excersise too. all though it won’t take away all anxiety , it can take a fair amount away . And that’s somthing .

Sorry Douglas, at min. 12:27 what's the name of the medication you got? Seroquons?? You took it for depression?
Maybe you said Seroquel, in this case is this medication only for bipolarity as I read in internet? Thanks ❤
