I saw Larry O'Brian and the Glenn Miller Orchestra in concert in Shreveport, La. at the Strand Theatre downtown, and WOW! They blew everyone away. Mr. O'Brian's style and beautiful legato of Glenn and Dorsey's signature numbers were impeccable.
My favorite song of all time. My late Grandfather taught it to me, and taught me to appreciate all of the great music from this era.
Thanks for the memories.
Larry is my Cousin when ever he comes into kentucky and he is near by we always go and see him. My god to believe he is in his 70's right now he doesnt look a day over 50, and he got married about 3 years ago for the first time in his life. But in all he is happy with his life and what his career has brought him. he retires in a few more years from what he said, he wants to keep going as long as he can. Love you Larry!
this music actually makes you wish you were around back then, it's quite special
What a band!! Just magic!!
Thanks for sharing.
Larry is just buttah EVERY NIGHT!!!!! Worked with him for two great years and his effortless playing changed my life!
Larry, you are the man.
WOW he got married at that age! That is so great...guess he found someone to love along with his music.....
FYI - Tommy Dorsey played "I'm getting sentimental over you" , the Glenn Miller had other well known solos...but NOT this this one.
Nonetheless...incredible rendition of it, I'm glad the Glenn Miller Band is keeping it alive.
So smooth
damn, some chops!
Nice super Eb!
My great-uncle used to play this better than anyone.
Trumbones an awsum instrument.
I don't know what this has to do with Glenn Miller. It was Tommy Dorsey's theme song!
twilight zone made me look this song up and im glad i did i was soo born in the wrong era lol
Larry O'Brien can never match TD or Glenn. That was pretty good, though, but he shouldn't have taken on some of those big notes.
