The Taser 7 CQ has good potential, just wished it had duel lasers and the CID updated to display the cartridge types loaded, shouldn't be too much to ask for with its high price point.
$1,800+ just to be able to fire 2 sets of darts without reloading is pretty insane. It’s also somewhat amusing that they’re advertising the fact that it’s close range as a benefit, when I’m assuming it’s probably the maximum range they could legal sell in a civilian device. The pulse is only good up to like 12 feet and they advertise more like 15 so I’m guessing the 12 feet advertised on this is less to actually be effective, where as actual lasers are like ~35 feet. I really think taser did a poor job with this for the price, especially considering all the little things they left off
Exactly! At this price point(or even much less), they should be offering the regular Taser 7, not the Taser 7CQ, that can use both Close Quarter(CQ) and Stand Off(SO) cartridges and have the capability for duel lasers. When Axon states close range as a benefit for the Taser 7CQ, it is counter intuitive because you'll want to be further away from the assailant. If the assailant had a knife or a lethal melee weapon, he/she can quickly cover 12ft(the max effective distance of the Taser 7 CQ) and strike you before you can even land a good shot.
any downside leaving the cartridge and battery in the taser while it's kept in a safe place? figured it's best to have it readied for unexpected situations rather than trying to put everything together in the moment. Thanks.
The Taser 7 and Taser 7CQ are rechargeable, it's just Axon only sells the non-rechargeable battery for civilians. I agree that I would personally choose to buy and carry the Glock over the Taser for protection, but due to my state's restrictions (CA), that is not possible. If you want a very affordable non lethal option, pepper spray is a good choice but it has a typical limited range of around 12ft.
This would be really hard to concealed carry if you wanted to take it out of your house lol. I know its marketed for Home Defense but that holster looks like its more for a Duty Belt. For home defense this has potential but for using outside of the home as a Civilian not sure this would be an option if you need to conceal.
Will you have additional cartridges and batteries for sale anytime soon? I have a couple taser 7s I purchased awhile back that I'd like to get working.
We are awaiting for accessory and pricing info. from TASER. Once we receive, our website will be updated for customers to purchase. Hopefully, we'll have soon but I don't have a date.
I have added the cartridges and batteries to site today. However, items will not ship until next week. See www.stunster.com/taser-devices/taser-7-and-accessories/
Most agencies are loading the CQ cartridge into bay#1 and the 3.5 degree standoff cartridge in bay#2. I just finished getting certified in this today. I miss my X26P but this one is real deal. Much much better.
You could wear it left handed just flip it but your right it’s not designed for left handed use just for right hand but I’m sure it would work just fine left handed
@@stuartmacher6031 After spending many hours researching this topic, I found out the following Taser X26C and Taser X26P have a power of 18 watts, the Taser X2 version has the same power and voltage of 1400 volts, but I can not say anything about the voltage of the X26 versions, but it is known that the power of the Taser X26M 26 model watt (if necessary, I can tell you about the differences between the X26C and X26P models) (A translator was used, since I am Russian and my English is not very good)

how effective are these against foes that are mentally ill and hopped up on meth and drugs? Will they drop a 200 pound big mean dude so you can escape?
Good luck. The cartridges are made by special automation (there's simply no room to properly hand wind) and after being fired would have to replace whatever is used to blast the darts out of there. Plus the protective blast doors are blown-off.

For $1600 cheaper to buy a Taser Pulse and a Glock 17. Taser needs to come out with rechargable models.

You might get away with pocket carrying in the front if only the huge battery wasn’t sticking out of the bottom.

How much for one?
To get the arc/stun gun I’m assuming cartridges need to be out? When would one have them out to use that? After firing ?
The cartridges have to be removed to use the taser as a stun gun. To use the warning arc, the cartridges can be installed or removed.
The warning arc can also be used as a drive stun this dude is trippin
EYYYY STUNSTER ANOTHER GOOD VIDEO
Thank you! Glad you like!
Which cartridge is recommended for taser 7? Close quarter or standoff ? For LEO duty.
Sorry I don't know answer to that question. It depends on situations you are normally in I guess.

How many feet??
Nice, but tell me they come in all black? I just can't do yellow on my duty belt?
Unfortunately at this time, it only comes in yellow and black. Don't know why Taser decided to not offer an all black unit.

Yes
I just got my new unit but no holster. Who do I call ??? What is the item number so I can order the holster .
The TASER 7 CQ no longer comes with a holster as stated. You can purchase holster here ==>www.stunster.com/taser-7-cq-safariland-holster.html

Home defense? What if the intruder is armed with a firearm or knife?
Have both
Can you drive stun with it?
Yes
I still prefer a 45 caliber real gun over this but great for when you cannot conceal carry outside in California.
What is its power in watts and voltage?
This is what I found:
Main Phase Peak Current amps = min 1.4/ max 2.4
Main Phase Peak Voltage volts = min 1500/ max 2600

Tasers are legal in NYC as far as I know. I don’t recommend the Taser 7 CQ, better to get the regular Taser 7, Taser X2, or Taser Pulse Plus.
