We went last Feb and this Feb during that time the chalets we stayed in had been painted on the outside. Butlins is open 365 days a year so all maintenance needs to be done whilst some people are holidaying! It’s a cheap and cheerful holiday for us and my 3yo loves in which in turn makes me v happy.
Seems u had a good time, Went last time about 6 years, going bk end of May, seems like quite a bit has changed which is always good thing(hopefully), also would recommend if you're planning to go beach with the little ones who all want spades and buckets buy them in the town centre entering butlins(when u get ur food shopping) usually a couple of quid each instead of silly amounts at butlins
We went to Skegness about 1967 when we were in UK. We were booked for 2 weeks. From what i remember we had an apartment on the opposite side of a highway to the main camp. Still have photos but no longer have my Beaver badge. I did wonder in later years if Butlins was having a giggle at our expense by calling us a bunch of Beavers. Hope to see more , thank you.
Oh wow, that's incredible. It's a shame they don't do a kids club now, that would be great!!!! You can't beat some of the old things Butlins used to offer from looking back at their history. Very jealous you got to see it back then!
@thegooklife They had an outdoor roller-skating rink, which I spent a lot of time at. I think the best bit is that parents can do what they want, and the kids can go off on their own in a safe environment. I must get back sometime .
So, the doors opened at 6.30pm, I started queuing about 5.20 pm in the VIP que, as I saw a couple of people already queing and I panicked! The que didn't really get big until around 5.50pm. The earlier show at 4pm was crazy though, people were queuing a lot earlier and I'd say about 3.30 when we came out to have a look, the que was like a Disney que and wrapped around on itself. So if you're going to the earlier shows, I'd definitely start queing earlier if you want the front row. I hope this helps!
@@thegooklife thank you, I’ve got the 7pm show booked and was hoping to queue around 6. I want a descent table as I have two prams. I’d be like you wanting to get in queue asap x
@kadiecj1047 you should be fine for 6pm, if not front row, 100% second row. People end up standing infront of you anyway so its not the end of the world, you'll still get great view! Have a fab time!! X

An icerink at Butlins 😮 Also I didn't realise it was possible to hire a microwave that would make a big upgrade to the standard accommodation
