So I personally dislike the naming difference between the 2, but in the 1970's tenors did not have any spock drums, only 4 main drums so that called them Quads. But as Marching grew tenor players got greedy and wanted more drums so we slowly added 2 spock drums. So most professionals would called tenors with 1 or 2 spock drums tenors, and with 0 spock drums quads. But I don't care about the naming difference and I use them interchangeably. But tenors are now the new normal and more commonly used name.
Our school got all new marching drums this year. The tenors drums cost 2135$ each. They are the Yamaha 8300 Field-Corps Series Marching Tenor Drums Large. I was unable to Find the snare drums online. Then for Basses we have the Yamaha 8300 Field-Corps Series, which the basses can range from 400-700$ each. [Thank you band boosters🙏🙏]
