⁴ᴷ MTA NYCT Bronx Buses: On Board 2017 New Flyer XN40 688 on the Bx12 "Rodeo Shuttle" (9/23/23)

During the Bus Rodeo of 2023, in the middle of the pouring rain, the MTA had assigned a few West Farms Depot based CNG buses onto a cut portion of the Bx12 local route, this branch of it normally running toward Orchard Beach during summers only, making it a seasonal route. In this case, these "Bx12" buses were in fact only in service to transport anybody travelling to/from the bus rodeo, going from Pelham Bay Park, where they would layover and terminate whenever they were unneeded, to the Orchard Beach parking lot, where the rodeo was taking place. This was exceptionally rare due to the usage of CNG powered buses in general on a Gun Hill Depot owned route, even if it was only a seasonal branch of the route, modified to only transport rodeo goers. #mtabus
