I'm glad some people are! I don't watch any other youtuber outside of Jenna and I was drawn in originally for the short, comedic scripted/semi-scripted content she put out. I have 0 interest in vlogs or low-effort content. It's not that I don't like Jenna or even Julien - it's just, I have a lot of things I'd like to watch and games I'd like to play and I don't have a whole lot of free time. Watching someone recording themselves going about their life and casually chatting is at the very bottom of my list of things I would want to spend my free time watching. I know there are people who do enjoy that stuff (for reasons that elude me - I also missed the reality tv bandwagon, haha), but I just wanted to speak up and say that she does have a demographic she picked up along the way that was never interested in that content. The more of her videos head that direction, the less I've been tuning in and I've been watching her since my early twenties.

I feel so bad for Shane, he's really loving what he's making. He's making such great and interesting content. All these mini docos yet he doesn't get rhe recognition from RUclips. He's consistently pulling in millions of views each and every video. He did a video with a girl named Jordanne (i think that's the spelling, Bobby's gf) about the trending page. She suggested because Shane continuously gets millions of views and lots of comments that it doesn't register as trending. But I think it's also more YT being a dick to Shane. I never used to watch Shane but I religiously do now. He's such an awesome person.
I think once YOU (the creators) decide what your target audience is, then your content ideas shape up a bit. Ex: you might lose young subscribers (if uploading more normal things) but you might gain adults who genuinely are interested in the process of life: moving, buying a home, furnishing, taking care of pets, (etc).
Louise Pentland, sprinkleofglitter, is a classic example of that. I stopped being interested in her cutesy one direction videos but sparked interested again in her adult content. Her channel has now evolved into an adult channel.
Y’all should seriously do a podcast reading/analyzing your full birth charts. I’m not sure if you’ve done this before but it would be fun to see your moon and rising signs and others and how they work together, especially since you guys identify with being Aries/Virgo so hard. A great place to start is the app co-star (you can compare your charts right in the app), but there’s a few websites out there that are more elaborate!!

I think the big thing about “being able to be candid and shared your thoughts” here vs your main channel is a very good point, but ultimately your personalities shine through and you’re genuinely entertaining and interesting, and funny. I’ve always enjoyed the mundane vlogs i think people forget that y’all are just normal people livin life. Putting yourself on the internet the way y’all do is a lot of work and very hard and I have a lot of respect for people who do it because I know I couldn’t. I think twice before posting vacation pictures or my dogs on fb and that’s to an audience of maybe 200 I can’t imagine millions.
I’d be down for a “what I eat in a day” video and for more decorating videos, but I do understand that not everyone would be. However, I think if u sprinkled that stuff in a little more often, along with your usual funny content, that most of your fans would be happy.
Jenna don’t be afraid to mix up your content! You could keep your main channel the same and always change your vlog channel up a bit and occasionally post something different there when you have time or feel like it.
I do miss Jenna’s vlogs, but I can understand why she doesn’t post them anymore because no one deserves to just get attacked the way she has for just being a human. I get that people try to be helpful, but when it’s like thousands of people saying the same thing and sometimes not in a nice way, it bring someone down a lot. And while I may not be super into each video that Jenna posts, I still watch it and find it entertaining and respect that it’s what she felt like doing for the week and that it made her happy.

jenna, if you struggle with wearing shorts because of the ratio of your legs:torso, go for shorts with a higher waist so it trims down on the length of your upper half and accentuates the length of your legs. i struggle with the same issue so i know what you mean.

Michael is such a beautiful character. The way he grows throughout the series, the way Steve plays him, and you can absolutely see that Steve *is* Michael (and isn’t acting)...magnificent. Jenna wouldn’t see that without having watched the whole series, so I totally get her not relating to him as much as i do!
I loved the solo podcast that Jenna did once. Although I missed Julien I just really got a lot out of hearing her philosophy on life. As one of her older fans I'm hoping that as her content matures we get to see that side of her more. ...and if she did a book it should be like Jenna's rules for life or something haha

I think the big thing about “being able to be candid and shared your thoughts” here vs your main channel is a very good point, but ultimately your personalities shine through and you’re genuinely entertaining and interesting, and funny. And I think that’s why so many people choose to watch you guys. At least that’s how it is for me. 💜

20:30 very insightful I hope people really listen to what y’all said and I hope y’all know how much we appreciate y’all sharing so much of your lives with us. I’ve always enjoyed the mundane vlogs i think people forget that y’all are just normal people livin life. Putting yourself on the internet the way y’all do is a lot of work and very hard and I have a lot of respect for people who do it because I know I couldn’t. I think twice before posting vacation pictures or my dogs on fb and that’s to an audience of maybe 200 I can’t imagine millions.
If Jenna ever wanted to come back and just make mundane vlogs whenever she wanted I'd tune in and I know a few others would too
I’d be down for a “what I eat in a day” video and for more decorating videos, but I do understand that not everyone would be. However, I think if u sprinkled that stuff in a little more often, along with your usual funny content, that most of your fans would be happy.
Jenna don’t be afraid to mix up your content! You could keep your main channel the same and always change your vlog channel up a bit and occasionally post something different there when you have time or feel like it.
I do miss Jenna’s vlogs, but I can understand why she doesn’t post them anymore because no one deserves to just get attacked the way she has for just being a human. I get that people try to be helpful, but when it’s like thousands of people saying the same thing and sometimes not in a nice way, it bring someone down a lot.
And while I may not be super into each video that Jenna posts, I still watch it and find it entertaining and respect that it’s what she felt like doing for the week and that it made her happy.

I’m disabled (fibromyalgia and severe bipolar disorder) so your videos mean a lot to me because they bring joy to me on my bad days, whether it’s a flare up or an episode. There’s something about your podcasts that seems to ground me when I’m having a manic episode in a way that nothing else can do. It’s amazing, honestly. Your videos give me a sense of companionship, as pathetic as it sounds, finding solace in strangers’ content, when I can’t leave my apartment. Thank you guys.

I am so happy that you two have the podcast to just be able to express your thoughts and feelings to the internet without feeling pressured to present it in a certain way. You two are incredible, down-to-earth human beings and I feel so privileged to hear you both speak openly about these thoughts and feelings. The podcast has been a safe place for me for a while to go to when I’m sad or stressed out because it is two people that I feel so used to/comfortable around being authentically themselves and I think there is something so beautiful about that.
