Hello!!! Coming at you in the future to tell you that at 2:12 you see those two legendary characters? Well on November 28 The whole world gonna see these two legends fight in a exhibition match of the century
Easily the greatest boxing game of all time. Controls were so intuitive and unlike other boxing games, Fight Night 4 never got boring. Almost every aspect of the game worked flawlessly. Fight Night Champion was still a decent game, but footwork was horrible and the game didn't feel nearly as dynamic as FN4.
I find using the right analogue stick to throw your punch very intuitive - i would much rather use this than buttons. Perhaps they should look at giving us a choice for round 5 though, or tightening up the current config - i too struggle to throw the punch i want 100% of the time. But the analogue stick control on RD3 was fine, no problems for me. dont know what they've done...
I much prefer this game over Champion. Sure the visuals were slightly better in Champion, but overall I felt that the controls were much smoother and much more responsive in this game.
The controls are spot on and actually adds to the reality of boxing maintaining proper finger control separates the hardcore from the casuals. I can understand complaints regarding its controls but the game wouldn't be the same without it. Practice, its not that bad .
in the game.... on xbox live. But you can see what people have uploaded on the fight night round 4 website in the photogame face section at the bottom of the webpage
Yeah,it's not only the best Boxing game ever made,it's the best sports game EVER IMO!And yes I relize what amazing games I'm putting it up against when I say that.Saying that since I consider Skating a sport,Skate 2 might just beat it!?!
fight night round 3 was no different... and i found the controls very intuitive - much better than just pressing a button for a punch type. I wasnt too keen on the new system straight away (i still dont like having a button for a haymaker rather than just swinging further through with the analogue stick) but i'll get used to that. it's still a fantastic game, particularly if you're a fan of boxing, the game plays best if you box rather than just fight - i think this could be your problem
i totally agree with you man! round 2 also was a breakthough game with the haymakers, i wish they would have kept the same mindset and improved it rather than changing it to the R2 button.
Fantastic game. People who don't like it probably just want to slug it out like's its super punch out from the SNES. The fact is in order to get good at this game you have to fight with good defense and counterpunch A LOT otherwise you're going to get knocked out. I can say proudly last night I beat Ali with a created Joe Louis on G.O.A.T. setting which is pretty hard.
Its easy to compare video games because a discussion like this can be settled with engines, frame rates, numbers and other facts. R4 unlike R3 moves at 60 frames per second, and that helped the punches move faster when they sped up the frame rate. Most of the reviews also agree that it makes the controls feel more responsive too. Watch a comparison video its visible with the naked eye so I don't know if what you said is a mistake or an out right lie.
damnn no idea. At the moment and in my opinion, UFC has more variety and therefore a steeper learning curve, which also means that you will spend a longer time trying out different move combinations and such. fight night round 4 is only punches, but they just feel so great. really, try out both games for an hour or so, and then decide.
Most people like champion better than this one because it’s a button masher compared to round 4. Round 4 required skill with the analog. Barely any button play like champion has and the fight pacing is more realistic. Champion was like a street fight with barely any technique they just swing wildly. Gimme 4 over champion any day
Problems with round 4 which are the reasons why most people prefer round 3 and champion: Goofy looking punching animation. Overly telegraphed animation for signature/power punching, making the attempt pointless. Very stiff controls and problems with input reading.
The last patch to Fight Night Champion made the game unplayable for me.the CPU punches itself out on every level of difficulty even with the CPU punch output all the way down.they turned a great game into one I can barely play anymore.the blocking was downgraded.Fight Night Round 4 is better
Well to knock someone out you gotta keep hitting them to get their blue bar down a little bit. when the right time comes, throw haymackers and they start getting a little shaky. and you will see the blue bar turn to a red bar. get the red part of the bar all the way down and they will be knocked down.
irishkiley .... Fair enough you have a right to your opinion just like everyone else dose =) I dont think that Fight Night Round 4 lacks anything to be honest . The only thing it lacks is people that dont have skill so they try to blame the game for not being good or they complain about it to take the heat off them self . I guess some people dont want to face the fact that there not good at the boxing game but would rather point blame at it and thats my two cents thanks for the reply =)
i loved fight night round 3 and i never even knew you could change to button controls is this game worth getting cause i wasnt sure when i played the demo
Well I did it in the demo and it was really awesome. The music's climax points frequently joined with those in the fights, sometimes with the slow motion and stuff. Just a funny gimmick to try out if you have the music =)
YES! I bought the first fight night and did not know anything about boxing. Now i understand the sport and sometimes even match some fights. You will pick up the sport very quickly.
the thing i dont like about fight night round 4 is the controls. the game doesnt allow me to change the control options so i can use the bottons to throw a punch, im not feeling the motion control joystick. thats the thing that sucks. im going to take this game back
i agree completely that is why i prefer ufc unleashed .... wish ea would go back to the old control style and just leave the joystick as a finesse add-on for those who like to use it like they did in round 3
@BigB21585 I didn't say anything about it having better graphics or running smother I was only talking about the gameplay. Did you read my comment? I will say it again the fighting in R4 was improved from R3 because they got rid of of the slow clunky punches, and the invisible wall between fighters, and the new physics engine allows fights to be more realistic and let boxers have different fighting styles which drastically improved the game, and is why the new game can have new boxers.
@TheOmd123d yeah it is once you get the hang of it it's real fun you can adapt different style and it will almost look like a real boxing match i only wish they put more heavyweights in this game like rahman holmes or kenny norton but maybe they will for fight night champion
@fabtellem i have the same problem but mostly in career, honestly it IS all about good punching though, in real life you can go out from 1 good placed punch too, you get hit on one of your temples and believe me that'll stun you immediately. don't you notice that the only real reason you get stunned immediately is allmost ALLWAYS because it's a hook punch to the temples.
skinnyg190 The demo is not the finished product... It's just a taste of what the games going to be like if you really want to judge it rent is first then see if you like it .
personally. i prefer round 3... only because i feel like i have more control over how i punch. round 4 i find i slightly inaccurate but i'll try get used to this...
The only thing that I didn't like about fight night round 4 was, not all the boxers are in round 4 from round 3 like HollyField is not in fight night round 4 and either is Executioner Bernard Hopkins which is my favorite boxer which totally bites but other then that its a fantastic game !!
lol, totally agree. i think they slowed it down to add a more "sim" feel, instead of a fast-paced arcade feel. this game had so much potential. if they would've just sped up the punches, and if none of the boxers were built like professional wrestlers, i would've bought it. hoping for better on fnr5.
The only thing I found this game to be better is this soundtrack is better than champion's soundtrack even though I like most of the songs in champion. It doesn't have any catchy songs I enjoyed like in round 4 compared in champion.
Colbertnation... what system are you playing FNR4 on ??? Because I dont recall having that issue ... But I will take a closer look and see if it dose that on mine .
i'm not a boxing fan but i like the fight night games especially round 3... 4 didnt amuse me that much, except for the graphics... but we dont play just for the graphics, right?
round 4 is mostly aimed towards hardcore boxing fans I suppose. I can relate to every feat they implemented on the game and I'm loving it because it's very realistic but I can't blame people for not liking it because it takes away the fun for them.
awesome. yeah, what i ended up doing is just going to settings and boosting the hell out of Tysons states and now..i kick ass. but the multiplayer still doesnt work...underage? WTH im frickin 17 and this game is rated T for 13 and over
@mattgchev I agree, ea bragged about their realistic ai but i've played alot of fnr4 and i know for a fact that all they did was give the ai boosted stats to make it harder. Corner game is unrealistic and stupid since when has a trainer been like " u didn't do as well that round so im only giving u a little water" controls feel unresponsive, i loved tpc in fnr3 but this feels sluggish. Ai counters the jab WAY too much, countering in general is kind of broken. Phantom punches.
the controls don't suck it just has a learning curve to them but champions controls are way better they make it so you have more than just hooks jabs and body shots
the love/hate for me is you can't cock back any punches anymore. If you try, punches will be thrown at random leaving you to be counter-shotted. I guess i'm just used to Round 2, the REAL TOTAL PUNCH CONTROL, i can throw 100% Haymakers in Round 2.
@BrentWoodSean38 Thats true but this game is addictive! You need to get it, the controls are really good and you wont be disappointed. Awesome game when you get into it!
HCCLAUDIU, you are right. You get more out of this game if you are watching it, than playing it. My personal beef as a Fightnight fan and a boxer is the lackluster KO's. My nephew noticed that they've enhanced the ringing slow mo of the loser instead of the zing burst of energy of the winner. The Gameplay has suffered. I really wondered how they screwed this one up. It's all hype. Visually nice. New fighters & choices but the gameplay does not translate through the control.
Nope, the parry system was a much more for sure way of winning. Countering is different on this game. I find the analog to work better than ever, the buttons seem different, I will admit that. EA didn't take a step back, they took 2 steps forward. But they do have some things to fix for my fellow fight night fans like you. I just hope you agree that the parry system should never be put back in. Facebreak isn't even a real boxing game. But I respect your opinion. To each his own right.
Just got it last night and I think it will not take to long until I master it like round 3. Then I will get on XBox Live and put a whooping on some chumps!!!
played the demo on xbox 360, shit was cool. nice graphics even on my standard definition tube. im wandering can you turn off all the rules and shit in the full game, and use illegal shots all the time and does mike tyson have an ear bite illegal move?
I agree with the majority of commentators (As far as I've seen) that FNR4 was a bit of a let down from FNR3. I was late getting my copy but I loved FNR3, and they just made this one a bit of a letdown, apart from the graphics, sound track, and other little tweaks. But the boxing itself doesn't allow to mix up the punching easily. Even in this video, most of the punches being thrown were repetitive (right hook, right hook, etc) and it stole a big fun factor for me. I hope FNR5 is more like FNR3
When I said R4 was faster I was just saying it was faster than R3. You can see it in the comparison videos, it moves at 60 frames per second(which is more than R3), and nobody tries to say R3 is faster. I don't know if fatigued is a boxing game so I don't know if it is a fair comparison. Simulation is a game genera it does not mean which game is more realistic. R3 had stuff like patching up your boxer between rounds and not being able to skip the training for your boxer among other things.
a message to anyone who has this game: Ali and Tyson both have 2 big weaknesses... but not the normal weaknesses i found them out when i was playing about 2 days back, In a match vs Ali wait until he try's to jab the body. once he starts he'll keep trying to jab it. the best way to get him jabbing is guard your face.. but anyway once he does do one clean uppercut and it almost always knocks him down. With Tyson do the same but instead of an uppercut aright haymaker normally works of the time.
all fighting games fans out there, u have to get this game, i give it a 9.4 out of 10, its a really good boxing/fighting game, the graphics is AMAZING, the controlls is really good by using the analog sticks, like when u twist the right analog stick to the right ur character does a right hook etc. good game
I agree its a great game the movements are better and graffix are also like i said it just feels like arcade now.its still good like i said but i look for games to keep me going for the little time i have to play
youll master the conrols if you continue with the game. its same with every game you nee to adapt to the controls and it will become instinctive every time you throw a certain punch. i had the sam eproblem when i first got the game but youll love once you know how to play and combo
it'd be cool if they made a game about old time boxing, it includes all legends of boxing such as joe louis, prime Ali, Sonny Liston, Henry Cooper, Marciano, etc.
Yea sometimes. in round 3 I figured out that a haymaker uppercut would always flash ko someone. I always knocked em out with that everytime, that was my button mash rebutal!!
TheDtp8989.... plus Im sure its to early yet to even have a figure on FNR4 about how many copies it sold since you asked the question do u know and if you do know then tell me the link and I will see for my self until then I guess we will have to wait and see then =)
I have them both and like them both the same hard to say which ones better because there both good when it comes to game play in graphics but your also looking at two different fighting games in there own right so to me its hard to put the two side by side and say which ones better =) .
irishkiley....9.0 out of 10 round 4 is the best fight night to date The movements are way way smoother when the boxers are fighting and the graphics blowssss round 3 AWAY!!!!!!! I have both so I would not be saying this if it was not true ok =)
@thespecter2 I can agree with you to some extent. That's the way our technology has become, the more realistic we try to make something look, the more unrealistic it becomes. Hell, games are starting to look better than real life.
all Ea sports has to do is remaster fight night round 4 for the ps4 with more blood and cuts
majah paine 69. It’s much better than Champion.
YESSSS
of course youd want more blood ,it shows your fruits
And they added champion mode
@@NYCHeavyHitz212crazy talk this is the most forgettable
Damn can't they just make another fight night smh
King Notsh exactly bro
Yep please
EA is still focusing on UFC for now, but they said there going to make a new one soon.
2020 here man I’m with you, we all are.
Probably no cause it's to expensive to make
Hello!!!
Coming at you in the future to tell you that at 2:12 you see those two legendary characters?
Well on November 28
The whole world gonna see these two legends fight in a exhibition match of the century
Yeah what a barn burner that was...
I want to parry and analog Haymakers like in round 3
Round 2 and 3 anyone can fight anyone why they change that????????. Heavyweight fighting flyweight was fun
I used to do that and punch 1000 times and get one shotted when getting hit just once lmfao!
when you finally get a realistic game people wanna say "it sucks", but IMO this is the best fight night
still a quality game this any day over champion
Paul McEvilly75 100%
Paul McEvilly75 hell no

Alguem sabe qual nome da trilha que toca aos 0:07 seg ?; Anyone know what the name of the track that plays at 0:07 sec ?
beacuse of this game now im boxing in the real life. this is the most awesome game. still playing for 1hour/day since release date.
The controls are spot on and actually adds to the reality of boxing maintaining proper finger control separates the hardcore from the casuals. I can understand complaints regarding its controls but the game wouldn't be the same without it. Practice, its not that bad .
I love the signature move by Mike Tyson its so sick in the game!
in the game.... on xbox live. But you can see what people have uploaded on the fight night round 4 website in the photogame face section at the bottom of the webpage
Its the damage reduction, if its low you get damaged more, if its full you wont take as much damage, its like a kevlar or a shield
Yeah,it's not only the best Boxing game ever made,it's the best sports game EVER IMO!And yes I relize what amazing games I'm putting it up against when I say that.Saying that since I consider Skating a sport,Skate 2 might just beat it!?!
Bought it for 5 bucks on xbl last year. Well worth it, I'd go as high as 15 too 20. Def worth the pick up.
fight night round 3 was no different... and i found the controls very intuitive - much better than just pressing a button for a punch type. I wasnt too keen on the new system straight away (i still dont like having a button for a haymaker rather than just swinging further through with the analogue stick) but i'll get used to that.

Tragick Hip-Hop round 4

thats true its a turn off
Since then,I have deleted the patch and just played it on G.O.A.T. it plays pretty well
how u do that
Do u have a PS3 or 360?
well both lol but i use ps3
Well to knock someone out you gotta keep hitting them to get their blue bar down a little bit. when the right time comes, throw haymackers and they start getting a little shaky. and you will see the blue bar turn to a red bar. get the red part of the bar all the way down and they will be knocked down.
maybe he'll be featured in 5, it does take a bit of time for the best stars to make the cut in the game like the omission of tyson in round 3.
JDINCINERATOR wish we got a 5 lol
when they come out with FNR5 maybe they will who knows I still will use the analog stick tho lol
because it works so much better then the buttons .
to use the right stick to punch was the best invention ever.
irishkiley .... Fair enough you have a right to your opinion just like everyone else dose =) I dont think that Fight Night Round 4 lacks anything to be honest . the thing i dont like about fight night round 4 is the controls. the game doesnt allow me to change the control options so i can use the bottons to throw a punch, im not feeling the motion control joystick. thats the thing that sucks. im going to take this game back
will I be able to make a rocky character and play his music as he enters the ring?
The photo game face is fucking amazing. I created myself down to my minor details and i'll never look at myself quite the same.
Not to the death, just until one of us hits the right sticc up too late and gets counted out
i agree completely that is why i prefer ufc unleashed .... wish ea would go back to the old control style and just leave the joystick as a finesse add-on for those who like to use it like they did in round 3
should i get this for £4??
@BigB21585 I didn't say anything about it having better graphics or running smother I was only talking about the gameplay. Did you read my comment?

this summer is the summer of FUN games. thats why im having the hardest time deciding which game to buy next.

skinnyg190 The demo is not the finished product... It's just a taste of what the games going to be like if you really want to judge it rent is first then see if you like it .
@TheS0VA Fight Night is always online. Even Fight Night Round 3 is online.

This is gonna be the best boxing game ever made. the graphics are sick and realistic.
You can actually download a free DLC pack that allows you to use buttons, as far as I know. :)
the controls don't suck it just has a learning curve to them but champions controls are way better they make it so you have more than just hooks jabs and body shots
the graphics are pretty damn impressive. i wonder what FNR5 will bring.

It is very strategic and smooth....more so then the previous versions. The people playing in this review are wailing away for some reason.

I do believe there will be a patch that will let you use the face buttons to punch
played the demo on xbox 360, shit was cool. nice graphics even on my standard definition tube.
im wandering can you turn off all the rules and shit in the full game, and use illegal shots all the time

Vayshen waste of time smh

They could have made it simpler though, like a completely different movement for Uppercut, Like down then u, not down then rigt ect.
a message to anyone who has this game:
Ali and Tyson both have 2 big weaknesses... but not the normal weaknesses i found them out when i was playing about 2 days back, In a match vs Ali wait until he try's to jab the body. once he starts he'll keep trying to jab it. the best way to get him jabbing is guard your face.. but anyway once he does do one clean uppercut and it almost always knocks him down. With Tyson do the same but instead of an uppercut aright haymaker normally works of the time.

musename...I would have to say first person that comes to mind is The Executioner Bernard Hopkins But there are other boxers I like as well.
all fighting games fans out there, u have to get this game, i give it a 9.4 out of 10, its a really good boxing/fighting game, the graphics is AMAZING, the controlls is really good by using the analog sticks, like when u twist the right analog stick to the right ur character does a right hook etc.
They do you can download fighters to the game thats what so cool about round 4
pringles103 mayweather ,hollyfield , Benard Hopkins ect they all can be down loaded to the game
go to configuration 6 in fight night round 3 and youll see that its quite easy to punch with over configuration 1
Yea sometimes. in round 3 I figured out that a haymaker uppercut would always flash ko someone. I always knocked em out with that everytime, that was my button mash rebutal!!
Remember watching this as a young cat
im not worried, they are going to do even better in the nest game
@musicisthebestF they gave fifa 12 nba 2k12 mario games assassins creed games all high scores so exactly how do they only love gears 3 and mw2?????
@TheFearNL totally agree. that game felt so much better , way better control response.. shits too slow now
TheDtp8989.... plus Im sure its to early yet to even have a figure on FNR4 about how many copies it sold since you asked the question do u know and if you do know then tell me the link and I will see for my self until then I guess we will have to wait and see then =)
musename..another great fight of all time as well Marvelous Marvin Hagler =)
I know what you're saying. For me, it's like this. When I want to do a hook, I do a jab, When I want to do an uppercut, I do a hook.
Hell, games are starting to look better than real life.
theyre better than pressing buttons using the analog stick help put together better combinations
